Hello my beautiful diary friends.

Well here we are again. Df wannabes for a second time. Because its a second time I know we can do it. We just need to refocus and change our mindset.

Basically we got out of debt and saved up our deposit and got on the property ladder. With our only debt being our mortgage.  We completed and moved last June (2019).

Then we got hit with some major house repairs. Which we didn't have enough in savings for so we took out a £12,000 loan.
And then I was stupid and got some stuff on our catalogue.. and then I became ill and I've been on ssp since September.

In 2 days time I return to work on reduced hours. But I hope to increase my hours as soon as possible.

You might be wondering why I'm starting this diary today ...

Well I decided now is better than ever to get going on our new way of life to become debt free. Live with less. And live a more frugal but meaningful life.

So today we start our new low spend/no spend frugal life.

I will post the rules we have set ourselves and our total debt (as of today) in the next post.

I hope you enjoy my diary

Love hugs positivity and prayers to you all.

Let's make 2021 a better year than 2020 x

Hi, good to see you here, not that I'm glad anyone needs to deal with debt, but glad you are trying to clear it. Do you have any growing space where you are? Now is a good time to plant garlic. You can use cloves from shop bought, needs very little space harvest it in summer. Won't save much but every little helps. Mumtoomany.

Good morning my beautiful diary friends,
I hope you are all well.
I've done some surveys this morning so I have £5.41 in my PayPal from that. Bids on my fb sales are upto £12 at the moment.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do regarding any extra money made throughout the next few months. There are obviously lots of options does anyone have any suggestions. I was going to put it in the bank towards our car fund /emergency fund.

The people are here to carry on fitting the fire. Its a multi fuel. Does anyone make briquettes to burn on their fire. How safe are they. I also have read on other threads about people collecting wood and seasoning it. Do you just leave it too dry out for the year to season it  if anyone has any other frugal suggestions they would be very welcome. We will obviously buy some logs too. Just wanted to see if we had other options.

I will put our budget on the post I've made available for it higher up in the thread before the weekend.

Today should be a no spend day.

    Have a good day everyone
Love hugs positivity and prayers to you all x

    Hi @mumtoomany
We do have some growing space. Not a lot but I have always wondered what we can grow in winter. We have some  mini apple trees that should start producing in a few years time. And have strawberries and blueberries in the spring/ summer. But I never know what I can grow in winter. I'm definitely going to get some potatoes going.

I'll give the garlic ago and let you know how I get on

  • Good morning my beautiful diary friends.
First day back at work yesterday and it went well. I'm not hugely tired this morning and managed to get a reasonable nights sleep.

I'm going to ask my manager if I can do 3 shifts a week from the beginning of January.

On the Money side yesterday was a no spend day yesterday.
Also my bidding items finished on fb so they are being collected between now and the weekend. Any money from sales is going in a tin at the moment. And I'll update my page on here as I go.

Going to blitz the house and watch a film today. Might take the kids for a walk tonight if we don't go for a walk we will play some card or board games

Have a good day everyone. Ill update this post throughout today with any updates x
Love hugs and positivity to you all

£1.29 made in surveys this morning. Will transfer that too PayPal as I can withdraw straight away
And a big one. I had a Christmas card off the big boss at work. Wirh a very unexpected £50 inside. I have added this too the "extra money made' as I wasn't expecting it.
