1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Tuesday has been a dark, dreary, damp & blowy day ☹️ Managed to get up earlier than yesterday - so a.m. rather than p.m. 😞😉 DH has been mostly in his office apart from occasional forays to the kitchen for lunch & coffee making duties 😉 Until 5 minutes ago DSis was hiding in her room 😉 doing her exercises - unfortunately very painful 😣
Earnest turned up 🥳 Went through 4 cubbyholes with door (which hides a multitude of sins 😞) I have been brutal (unusual for me, but needs must 😉) Lots of recycling, some shredding, several items for CS bag & handful of rubbish. Also found some light bulbs, a tin of fuses, a wireless doorbell & the corded phone 😉 - unfortunately means the empty drawer is now full ☹️ DH & I will sort tomorrow. Still no sign of the elusive foaming soap dispensers 🤔 As an aside, I haven’t felt hungry at all today so that will help in starting to shift a few ounces 🙂
158 - 179 Damaged book, 21 magazines - recycled
180 - 181 Handful of detritus, 1” shredding - binned
182 - 185 Mini hand held sewing machine (too fiddly for me but someone with better eyesight & nimbler fingers will probably find it useful for minor sewing repairs 🙂); very beautiful Mahjong Set (21st birthday present & never played 😞); a travel set ‘Games Compendium’ (never used 😞); hanging tree photo frame still in its box 😱 & large photo album - CS bag
Excellent work TC77 👏
Great work mehefin 👏 Everything can be counted 😉 you are decluttering the risk of nasty smells being tracked into your home 😉Wow 🤩 bit_by_bit 🤩 you have definitely earned your day of rest before going back to work 👏🙂 I was exhausted just reading about your hard work 😉 Now I know you haven’t finished your craft/storage room BUT you have made the room safe, usable & fully organised - so one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂 good job they are virtual or you would be cluttering with Gold Stars 😉😉 So the sensible sparrow stayed indoors out of the bad weather 👏😉
Excellent work vulpix 👏 and I wish you every success with your plan to smarten up 🤞Well done pamsdish 👏 easily accessible is a decluttering win 🙂 more cash for clutter 👏🙂MrsSD 🏅 ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 185/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Hi everyone,
My weekly (ish) update:
- gave a friend some old games/toys/paints for her son now my son has outgrown them
- tidied up the house and had a bin bag full for recycling - mostly magazines, junk mail and plastic bottles
I think thats it for me, nothing towards my 30 in 30 challenge but will work harder on that this week. I was busy with work and therefore didnt try.13 -

3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)No more decluttering/tidying/cleaning - I just made dinner - fish pie from scratch with the last of the green beans from the freezer. It was 😋 🤤 Enough left for 2 more portions.
I promise to do the washing up before going to bed 😉 but am watching Super 8 with my DSis. We had the last 3 pieces of our gifted biscuit based Scottish tablet ☹️ A minor triumph as it lasted 3 days 😉186 - 188 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, plastic bottle - recycled
189 - 191 Kitchen detritus, Lr detritus, office detritus - binned
Great work Ms_W 👏
Yippee Barny1979 👏 more cash for clutter 🥳
Now, now gettingthrifty (wagging finger emoji ) Do NOT dwell on the lack of decluttering success INSTEAD celebrate your success in dealing with a ‘frog’ 🥳👏 Not only have you dealt with it promptly but you have also decluttered any future stress 🙂 Plus an added advantage you now KNOW that you can deal with ‘frogs’ 👏 so tomorrow just pick a section of the ‘mess’ & sort it out 😉 I know you can do it 🙂🙂Well done notmy1sttime 👏 I am always thankful that I am retired - no work getting in the way of decluttering just sheer bone idleness 😉😂MrsSD 🏅 ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 191/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Thanks for the support Mrs SD.
Have done my email unsubscribe earlier in the month what a difference that has made. Happy with that especially as I do procrastinate. Kept putting off all day the need to get the sewing machine out for some pants to be stitched. Got 2 items to go out via eebay sales. Return an item tomorrow back to tesco looking for my money back, got a refund on some flowers that were not worth the cost. 5 items from the loft and only 1 box up as I am aiming to use to soon for posting out. Tidied and cleaned up. Kitchen been clean and tidy all day
Bank statement sheets rolled up ready to light the fire tomorrow. Stayed in my dressing gown all day it really is a good one. Got the sewing machine out and got 2 pairs of pants stitched. Have left it out for in the morning as there are another 3 to do. Did some online banking and got balance from DH cc as is sons debtit is at 0% and coming down very well. Food selection from freezer for today and tomorrow done.
Off to tidy kitchen again
Today was a good day
Take care in the rain

On the declutter journey since 2023 with Mrs SD. Tilly Tidy since 2023.11 -
Evening all - had to stop to think what day it was. I cleaned out the cleaning/under sink cupboard so that was a triumph.
Some clutter out today - 3 cardboard boxes out to recycling, usual kitchen rubbish and 2 tops/ jumpers. I did do some dusting which was as boring as it sounds.
Plumber friend of plus ones round and a part plus £20 later has fixed the unfixable machine which has worked all day without fault, so as we plan to move in a few months rather than cancel we have gifted the new machine (well re-routed it via customer service) to my brothers.
I hope it will be nice for them as they are using a laundrette, not that its a great gift but hopefully will see them good being a young family.
Just paid the electric bill which wasn't to bad for a winter bill but always such a worry when it's cold.
Hope everyone is warm and safe xxGrocery challenge Feb £107/£100-epic fail due to cake and biscuits
