Started off good today cleaning, sorting and throwing. Recycled bits into the bins that go out tomorrow. I have done the washing up and kitchen tidy. Feel like I've not done enough for some reason yet I have.
Time to crochet some wool away
Stay safe

Back at work today so not much done home stuff. Washed the pots, well, most of them. Ok, half. There are three of us here and I seem to have a continuous pile of pots to wash. No idea whose they are, they surely can’t all be ours! So, decluttering wise:
51: pair of socks with a hole and threadbare heels.
52: Half of a water damaged loo roll - thanks DS2 - that had been drying out for months (salvaged the inner half though 🤣)
53-55: 2 bags and a box of Christmas gubbins back in the loft.Hopefully a colleague is buying an amp and my giant coffee grinder!Vicky xGrocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . Advent decluttering challenge 47/240.12 -
104-105: 2 bags of rubbish
106-107: 2 items OOD removed from fridge
108-113: Packaging from items decanted into jars
114: another 50 emails deleted from job listings and recruitment companies.
115-125: pdf documents and photos deleted from external hard drive
126: cleared out the far reaches of the bathroom to put down a mat to try and make it a bit warmer in there.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Monday was a bright sunny day & not too cold until late afternoon. I woke up very late 😞DSis had gone for her first physiotherapy session re her shoulder. DH had fitted the new toilet seat in the downstairs cloakroom.Earnest called in again & stayed a while 👏 Decided against actively looking for the foaming soap 😉 and turned my attentions to the wall unit’s 2 x ‘4 cubbyholes’ with glass doors. I emptied the first block of 4 - this was where I was grateful for a completely empty dining table 👏 🥳 Washed & dried the shelves & cleaned the glass door. Also decided on a rearrangement of contents 😉 Wiped down the bottles of spirits/wines + washed & dried the wine/champagne/beer glasses & vases then returned everything to cubbyholes. Unfortunately no decluttering as I had been brutal with the glasses last time around. However I did find a lovely ‘silk flowers in a box’ arrangement. It had been a birthday present but I have had my enjoyment from it & it is now in the CS bag 🙂 Emptied the 2nd block of 4 then washed & dried the shelves & cleaned the glass door. Washed the tumblers & tall glasses, wiped down the rest of the bottles. One cubbyhole had boxes of envelopes, cards letter rack etc. Sorted everything - like with like. This left me with one completely empty cubbyhole 🥳🥳 However, I decided to utilise it to store all my jars for this years chutneys etc 😉 & there was enough space to empty the drawer of jars 👏🥳 Therefore I have one empty drawer 👏👏 🥳
Lunch was hm soup, DSis had a bacon sandwich. DH & I finished our takeaways for dinner but DSis just had spare ribs. DH had the rest of her dinner 😉
147 - 155 Largish glass jar, kitchen recycling, 4 takeaway plastic lids, 2 foil trays, magazine - recycled
156 - 157 Kitchen detritus, old toilet seat - binned
You are very welcome leelad 🙂
TC77, you are so right it is difficult to keep the motivation high when usual options for getting clutter out of the house are so limited ☹️ However you did pick yourself up & dust yourself off 👏 you now have clear surfaces 👏👏 Lists in notebooks 🥳 rather than the Jack Frost scraps of paper 😉 means you are less likely to miss something 😉So very sorry to hear about your DH 😞 gettingthrifty. You are not derailing the thread, we are here for support in all aspects of decluttering. You are doing a great job, putting yourself in the position to get up & go should the need arise but I hope it does not. Please feel free to post, we are here to listen/lend a shoulder. Great work gettingthrifty 👏 I have a problem with shoes - I have quite large, wide feet & although I love to look at fancy shoes, comfort is always my main consideration when buying ☹️ even in my late twenties ☹️Lovely sentiment bit_by_bit. Wow 🤩 another room completed ✅👏 Your clutter free, tidy & safe bedroom has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️ You are definitely on a roll & I admire your decision to postpone your rest day so you can kickstart the craft room declutter 👏 Kohl rabi looks interesting 🤔
Good work moneyonmymindsam 👏 what a good position to be in - making yourself think about what can be decluttered 🙂 Fingers crossed that the job search goes well & that you find a suitable job quickly 🤞Good work vulpix 👏 Remember, you have to train yourself to say “No” Btw, not really tmi but you must be a witch because I had reached the same conclusion to dispose of pants rather than darn 😉Laughed my socks off balabooberlies 🤣 Behave yourself balabooberlies 😉 I think we all like to praise other people’s successes 😊 & by the way you have decluttered today - you have been reading the thread & picking up ideas of what to declutter next 😉😉
Excellent work OWD_nana 👏 You must be so pleased that you get to use new toiletries 🙂 - I must remember that persistence pays off, thank you 😊Thanks Marpau 👏Great work boultdj 👏 Glad OH is helping 😉Good work villagelife 👏 Every item out is a win 🙂Pleased to hear that your skip is for you only, Nicnak 👏 This is where your skills in neatly stacking clutter come into play when stacking it into the skip 😉😂
Well done nannywindow 👏 Sorry to hear you have been down ☹️ but well done on picking yourself up, dusting yourself off & re-entering the fray 👏Oh dear pamsdish ☹️ I refuse to use atms to bank cheques, if the bank is closed I try again another day 😞 What a great result re your clutter for cash 🥳Excellent work patentgirl 👏 I hope you feel very virtuous 🙂 Hope your test is negative & the result of your minor procedure is positive & painless 🙂Please do Not be so hard on yourself EnergyShifter 🙃 I always found it difficult to be productive in the house when returning to work after a few days off ☹️Great work jenni_fer 👏 really pleased that people turned up & collected 🙂

Thanks for my shiny star Mrs SD. Amazing amounts of decluttering going on
👍
I started work on the final room yesterday as promised. I have some order now with on bin liner of stuff to the bin. Its a big job and I haven't got the energy for the full thing so I bagged and boxed like with like for further sorting when I have my next burst.. I have 8 bags for the CS and one for the refugees now. The winter stuff will go in the loft as I don't think the CS will open until March now.
What I have achieved is getting all the stuff I want to sell together so I know how big the job really is. I have done the two boxes: one for stuff online now and one for stuff I have photographed. Today I am having a rest as I am back in work tomorrow for three days.
PS Decluttered two live sparrows that fell down the chimney. Luckily the fire was cold and we let them out. One stayed overnigh because it couldn't find her way down to the bottom. (got a wood burning style fire)

bit by bit you are on a roll ! nearly said on fire but in view of sparrows thought against it!
Listed a couple of things on Fb last night because I decided it is up to the individual as to what they think is essential and how far to travel.
re pants, what am I waiting for? They were a pack of 5 two or 3 years ago, they owe me nowt. Thought similar to some other clothes I wear round the house. Time to smarten up a bit!
