Elsien, I used to keep that type of carrier bag for litter-picking when out walking the dog - made sure I double-checked for integrity before leaving the house after finding myself leaving a wee trail as the bottom had given way
. Oh well, my intentions were good
. How aggravating that you've now got a mess to clear up when the bags had been saved for a good purpose.
81 Plastic tub recycled
82-93 12 magazines recycled (that's not a small task as they are work related so I wanted to read them properly before disposing)
94-95 a mug and packet of teabags taken to work
96 wee padlock
97 Electric toothbrush and charger to recycling
98-99 End of 2 bags of dog food, decluttered to birds (we've still got the dog, just changed her diet)
100 dead plant
101-110 Cardboard boxes
111-115 Bags of recycling and rubbish
116 a wee string of lights which don't work to recycling
117 - 128 cleaned out fridge and disposed of contents of 11 containers and some old salad
129-130 disposed of junk mail and incorrectly addressed mail sent back 'return to sender'

Viking_mfw said:boultdj said:Not a lot out as it's baking day here, bread, cherry scones, cherry and vanilla cake, cheese & onion pasties and cornish pasties made.
So out is egg carton, tin from the corned beef, used up the cheese that was in the fridge, still got 3 packs in the freezer.
The cornish pasties have gone down well for tea tonight, so a repeat for tomorrow is on the books.

boultdy - impressed by all the cooking, I find it hard to cook more than one thing at a time. Giant cauliflower cheese last night.
84 out of date food out.
Things ready to take to our local donation point tomorrow - will count when out.
Had a lovely walk in the sun, and zoom chat with friends, so little decluttering. A couple of things on f/bay but still have lots to do but do notice the difference from this time last year.
Take care everyone x14 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Saturday might have been cold but it was also sunny 🙂 I never did go back to bed ☹️ just watched some more recorded programmes & had a mug of coffee. Got dressed because Earnest turned up for cleaning (rather than decluttering) duty 😉 👏 DH took out the shelf supports from the main oven which he thoroughly scrubbed, as well as scrubbing the shelves themselves. He also moved the sliding apparatus for the grill pan. Took my poor DH hours as had never been cleaned - 6 years worth of grease 😱 - although I had been wiping down 😉 My cleaning duties were the glass doors - having removed the inner door for ease of cleaning - plus the oven bottom & the outside surround. Then I did the rinsing & drying of all the bits & DH put everything back. It looks 100 times better although not absolutely pristine. However now we know how to do it, it will be easier next time & I promise we won’t leave it 6 years 😉🤣 The small oven will be cleaned tomorrow 🙂
Dinner is going to be breaded veal escalopes, mashed potatoes (used up last of soured cream & double cream - waste not, want not 😉) & frozen vegetables (peas & carrots) - so pre-empting
77 - 79 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, cardboard packaging - recycled
80 - 81 Kitchen detritus, oven cleaning Scourers & sponges - binnedExcellent work Nicnak & 🥳 chair picked up 👏 😯 a skip 🙂 See you in 2 weeks 🤣😉
Elsien, remember when the CSs are open again, they might find them useful 🙂 I like your radiator cover 🙂 Read further, don’t envy you the clearing up of lots of plastic bits ☹️lynnsey30, a very cold day is definitely a day for hibernating 👏 Definitely not a day for sorting out a chest freezer 😉
Good work HappyKitties 👏 especially using your expensive perfume 🙂
Excellent work Gem-gem 👏 so decluttering on 2 fronts - nothing in, lots out 👏Excellent work charlies_tribe 👏 cleaning & decluttering 👏
Well done gettingthrifty 👏 clutter out, money in 🙂That is lots of decluttering boultdj - ingredients turned into edibles 👏 A Cornish pasty & a slice of cherry & vanilla cake for me 😉😉 I am going to be too late 😭
Viking_mfw, I think I would trade kitchen cleaning & baking over an over energetic toddler 😉
Excellent work Uncluttered_unicorn 👏 an eclectic mix 🙂Great work villagelife 👏
Great work TC77 👏 Decluttering potential stress is always a bonus 🥳MrsSDDecluttering Target: 2021 81/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Hi all
I've been quiet the last couple of days and, oh my, the thread is flying!!
I have been clearing out the draws in my bedroom as I'm determined to do a really thorough job, rather that just tidying up. So as I have been doing it, I have been trying to follow the Kon Mari method. Anything I don't want to keep, I'm listing either on a selling site or Olio and then the things I do, I'm folding properly and thinking about where it makes sense to live. Visually, other than clearing the floordrobe, you wouldn't notice a difference, but I know it's a huge step forward and the accumulative effect will be significant.
31-57 - Underwear, tights etc (I will NEVER be a size 8 again and I'm over it!!)
58 - broken charger
59 - vampire teeth - no idea how they found their way in there!!
60-69 - small boxes recycled
70 - hair gel that had gone gloopy
71-81 - clothes that were not even worthy of giving away for free binned
I have listed 4 other items but won't count them until they are out the door. Things that I am selling I am putting in the loft, so I have the benefit of seeing a clear space, and I will always know where the items are when they sell!
Well done to everyone for the great progress.Declutter challenge - 81/1500 (5.4%)

Day 9 of the Minimalists challenge was a definite struggle. I've listed some stuff on fleabay but decided not to include it til it leaves the house which might be an error. Anyway, today's 9:
1-4) two dresses and 2 pairs of trousers which I don't think I've worn for at least 5 years all to the CS bag.
5,6,7) three pieces of wooden dolls house furniture that was cheap in the mid 80s when I acquired it to the fire pile
8) a random small tin that had tea in it and was in my office to the recycling
9) an empty Pandora bag someone gave us a present in which has been sitting on my dressing table for about 6 months, chucked after removing the ribbons for re-use.
45/465. I really am not sure I'm going to be able to complete this. Still, onwards and upwards.10 -
Although I must say Mrs SD, your cheerleading is really keeping me going!12

Thanks Mrs SD.
How many bags do you think a skip would count as? Just asking for the future!! I will only count part of it as the kitchen is being replaced. I will count the things that aren't being replaced. x
