I hope everyone has had a safe and peaceful Christmas. I have just made - ignore this post vegetarians /vegans - rabbit and gammon pies with carrots and white wine. Bagged up lots of cooked capon and stuck it in the freezer. I'm doing a little decluttering of e mails and updating of computers today. Tomorrow is a chilled day then I'm back on it. I'm so pleased what I've managed to do so far although I need new jeans as I threw out all my rubbish ones. I was tempted to throw away everything I didn't feel good in but decided that was foolish and it was a good job or I would have spend Christmas in my underwear. Is there a link for the new thread, you lot are so inspiring.DF by 2023 No 17 £1,644 /£6000 Total debt £18,000 at the start of DFW Journey. 201814TH JULY 2021 DEBT FREE now in control365 1p challenge No 498

Blackberrycurved, it's over here:
2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD — MoneySavingExpert Forum
Edited to add:
2606-2608: 2GB data and 50 emails out
2609-2631: trawl round the flat yielded 22 items to recycling or bin, including the box and plunger from the leaking insulated coffee mug.
2632-2634: 2 bags of rubbish and a bag of mixed recycling out.
I think I'll retire some socks: I bought a pack of new socks so the Yuletide Cat (Jólakötturinn) didn't pop down from Iceland to visit me. The Yuletide Cat visits folks who haven't received new garments‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hello all, long time, it’s taken me ages to read back, but it’s been very motivating. Wishing everyone well whose been unwell.
@StickyTheStickInsect my husband bought a kercher steam cleaner for the household for Christmas 😂I’ve only used it once but it was easy to use and the kitchen floor is gleaming…. Will see how long it takes me to break it 🙄 hopefully not before the whole house is clean 😂
ive decluttered some kitchen items today that have been in the cupboards for years without being used. A massive set of steamer pans and an egg poacher pan and some cake tins all gone to the charity shop.DH likes to keep everything so I put kitchen stuff of his that we never use in the top cupboard that requires a step ladder to reach so at least it’s out the way.
I did a quick reorganisation of the cupboards in the kitchen too I think they got really bad as I stocked up too much for Christmas so there’s food everywhere……
Have used olio to give away some toys as my LO got a lot of Christmas presents this year so no space to put them until we decluttered some of her current stuff.
all in all feeling quite positive for 2022. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous new year, thanks to @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for all your support and encouragement and everyone else’s contribution to the thread 😊9 -
Final post for 2021, decluttering definitely slowed down once I hit my target.
366 - a thank you card for a wedding present
367 - nappy bin to the tip (couldn't think of a hygienic re-purpose)
368 - wood to tip
369 - pair of jeans sold and sent
Thanks all for the motivation and friendly chat369/365

Joining for final update. Tip run at my dads but as usual things also came back with me and also the posh CS near him had a closing down sale, everything for £1.£15 spent but 6 placemats I needed, some crockery for DD1 ( and couldn't resist some for me! And plant pot for DD2. Home to even more stuff so looking forward to 2022 thread and seeing you all there together with Mrs SD motivating us and mutual support.
Happy new year and hoping peaceful, healthy and joy and contentment to all. I like the idea of contentment. X

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Thursday has been a slightly brighter day but very windy. I haven’t done much today but I did manage to deal with a financial frog - took exactly 4 minutes 🙄; dealt with my post immediately; peeled, blanched & froze a small bag of sprouts; finalised my Daily Mantras & 2022 intentions (no longer do Resolutions 😉). DH & I finished the hm soup for lunch. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & roast tomatoes. Wudupa.
2354 - 2355 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2356 Kitchen detritus - binned
Lovely post D123456789 👏 I hope you also received something more romantic than a steam cleaner from your husband 😉 Excellent decluttering in the kitchen 👏 & a good interim solution for your husband’s cookware 😉 Perhaps put a time limit on the items - if they are not used once every two months AND at least 3 times in 6 months then they leave the premises as appropriate 🤞😉 They are taking up valuable food storage space 🥲 Can I ask did LO participate in the decision - never too young to learn about decluttering 🙃 See you aboard the 2022 Electric Decluttering Train 🙂
Be back shortly 😉

Hi,
I tidied my gifts/cards and wrapping drawer today. It is my Mums Birthday next week, DIL in about 3 weeks and DD1 in 4 weeks. I have identified and wrapped DD1's gifts from stuff I picked up throughout the year. Mum I have bought reduced food items that she likes, Christmas cake etc. DIL I am frantically trying to hand sew a quilt. I am still using up pre used wrapping paper. I have found 2 cards from my stash and I will make one for DD1. I went to some shops yesterday and picked up a couple of things towards DS and DD1's BF Birthdays in the sales. Everything was picked over and very few bargains to be had.
I bought new duvets though not in a sale. Apart from a nightie ( everywhere just seems to sell PJ's) I am ready for my challenge for 2022 of not buying stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will only replace things as they are used up,
Mr V working tomorrow night so I am home alone. I have a lot of cooking to do for New Years Day as family are coming again and we celebrate Mum's Birthday. I will also make my Mum some of her favourite lemon curd. DD1 BF loved the girls slippers that I made them so I am knitting him a pair too for NYD. Btw any knitters, Aldi are selling 400g chunky wool for £1.99, bought some today ,the last for a year!
Thank you all for your company this last year and I will see you on the 2022 decluttering train.
Vx
