Result vascoda. My broken drain problem has been ongoing for a decade. Seeing off several councillors. The drain is Victorian and not on any maps. The breakage is in the wood which is private land. The resulting stream falls onto a piece of land which has no owner. The culvert to take the water away is overwhelmed so the water cascades over my garden wall. No one wants to take responsibility. My neighbour who has been trying to get a solution all this time just goes round in circles. The current councillor did get a dangerous tree order on the recently felled oak tree. She has also got an agreement with the land owner to try and resolve the problem of the broken drain. She has progressed more than anyone else but no resolution in sight.Sorry for all that.

Back to the slow lane decluttering,
2 balls wool decluttered into ankle warmers for me
4 balls of wool decluttered into baby blanket for CS
I'm working through the wool stash.
1 pile of past years' Christmas cards.
I had been keeping them because I liked the pictures! Now in the post.
4 ornaments to CS
I Christmas decoration to CS found while going through the Christmas card box.
1 pile paper to Recycling from writing and sorting the cards.
Total= 14+10/365=24/365
I think it may take me until December next year to reach this target - it gets later in the year as more and more has left. I'm still working on reducing the stuff coming in, especially from the CS. I didn't buy a cardigan this week - only 2 euros- so - new approach- would I buy it at a full price of, say, 25 euros. Oh no ,def. no So 2 euros saved.
Thinking of you, my friends. Hugs for you all and stay safe, everyone.

The last two days has been spent pulling out the craft room (read dumping ground) a few hours at a time. I have reorganised the furniture in the room and slowly replacing things. I have done all the big stuff but haven't thrown much yet. Tonight and tomorrow the bags of stuff full of mixed papers, craft materials and suchlike will be sorted. I have a line of boxes to sort it into including rubbish of course.
When DD goes she is taking a huge set of draws from the craft room. In its space is going a day bed which I will use when I have guests. I bought it second hand and it has underbed storage so not a huge loss on storage. Just got to keep it clear on top.
There is a lot of stuff to sell in there, that will take a while but it will go. That will also leave space.
I moved in a bookshelf my brother gave me filled full with books about Rome and the Romans. He wanted me to keep them but has now given me permission to let them go. I also have bookshelf of craft books, a lot of cross stitch and needlepoint. I love them but some will be going. I am never going to do the patterns but I will scan a few faves from each book with their instructions to do if I ever feel the need.
I think I bought them because I like the pictures mostely, lol,
Although a lot hasn't gone I feel a sense of control coming back and the overwhelmed feeling I have been having is easing.

Sorry I've not been on much.
I returned to work (its work at home but was crazy when I logged back in for 2 weeks) and was getting used to doing a full week after moving in and then on Monday we brought our first puppy home. We weren't quite prepared for his arrival but we've done okay.
Not much tidying or decluttering has been going on. Puppy is very anxious and hard to do anything since we can't take our eyes off if him for more than a second before he is ripping wallpaper or demolishing the wood on our bed or peeing places he knows he should be.
We've gotten rid of 10 it's before puppies arrival and normal bins/recycling.
Here's a picture of our lovable terror, Remi!

Oops forgot to post yesterday & have no excuse as I wasn’t even busy decluttering 🙄 Friday & Saturday have both been miserable days weatherwise ☹️ Rainy, dark & cold. Dinner last night was sausages, mash & baked beans with a fried egg on top for DH & me 😋 Saturday I have helped DSis with her parcels for her son in France. I was in charge of the scales & providing cardboard boxes, sellotape & customs forms. I have also started composing next years decluttering thread 🥳 Dinner tonight will be mushroom risotto.
2238 - 2243 Kitchen recycling, 2 newspapers, 2 cardboard boxes, glass bottle - recycled
2244 Kitchen detritus - binned
Love it Floss - Whisky obviously likes to help out 😉

Excellent work bit_by_bit 👏 The hardest part of decluttering is getting started 😔 so you should be very proud of yourself for tackling your craft room 👏 One 🏅on its way. You are taking control 👏

Here's a quick question....
I started the year wanting to get rid of 104 bags of stuff. 2 bags a week seemed do-able.
But I was away for 6 months. So was wondering if I could change my goal to 52 bags for this year without feeling as if I am cheating.
Any thoughts ?

The mushroom risotto was delicious 🤤 Will do the wudupa later.

balabooberlies - your original target was 52 bags 😉 but as you started off very strongly you upped it to 104 - probably not realising you would be away for half the year 😉 So I agree with EnergyShifter - pro rata to 52 bags is spot on 👏 and you definitely should not feel like you are cheating. I have reset your target & due to this revision I owe you one Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way. You now stand at 32/52 bags 👏
Good work EnergyShifter 👏
I can reiterate that setting a numbered target is not de rigeur - it is whatever helps to motivate you, a helpful tool to feel in control & confirming your successes 🙂 - although it does help me with awarding gold stars when milestones are reached 😉 😉
P.S. DH did wudu & most of the pa 👏
