Desperately trying to photograph the pod of dolphins swimming alongside the ship but they are too quick. They are teasing us as we sail up and down the English Channel until we dock tomorrow morning. The weather is very changeable
but it’s so pleasant and balmy that I’m currently sitting in my state room with the balcony door open admiring the colour of the water.
we had quite a storm the night before last but, I can’t lie, I loved it 😂 after the last couple of years I’ve had battling ‘the system’, mother nature doesn’t terrify me at all 😃
Actually I’ve just moved onto the balcony because it is so warm in the Sun at the moment. I can’t take a selfie because I’m squinting too much. I can’t believe I’m here 😃 I’ve been a little bit teary this afternoon but it’s all good – I’m definitely leaving a lot of emotional baggage behind on the boat. Better and cheaper than paying for therapy. The next thing I want to do is go and scream at a volcano! Seeing as I don’t want to be in the UK for Christmas maybe that could be my next adventure? 😂
The biggest worry is I face at the moment is whether I can manage afternoon tea and dinner later tonight 🤷♀️10 -
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger until recently there was a booking system at the tip which was brilliant but after a consultation they reverted to the old system. Much preferred it when you had a time booked and knew there would be a space to park in but thankfully the centre isn't too busy most of the time.
Have asked plasterer to price up re-plastering the kitchen next so that will be a major job to declutter the kitchen in advance. We are looking at February / March as he is getting really booked up so that gives us a fair amount of time but that will be a big project!8 -
Successfully decluttered 10 items to charity today!
The carpenter came yesterday so I’m waiting on his quote before I declutter money to him. After the recent plastering, which resulted in my sparkie coming to visit as it had knocked out one of the light switches we ended up having a chat about what was next on the house jobs. I admitted I have an increasing number of carpenter jobs and I swear the house was listening because……..when my sister was up a ladder mist coating the newly plastered ceiling she managed to punch a hole through a floorboard! Just a small hole and the wood had had a case of woodworm in the 1970s. Fortunately my sister was fine. This wasn’t the plan for the rest of the year though!!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Vulpix - My Gran always used to save the wrapping paper so I always thought it was a normal thing to do. OH's parents still do it but we quite enjoy trying to thing how far back some of the paper goes as often it is things we have wrapped for them. In our family quite often smaller things get wrapped in old paper. If you think about the amount of wrapping paper that gets used it makes sense to me to reuse the old stuff.Vascodakarma - the dolphins sound great. I'm loving seeing your holiday snaps. I've heard that it's a big dilemma on cruises working out how to manage afternoon tea and dinner. I'm sure you will find a delicious solution to the problem.Great to hear that so many frogs have been eaten. Especially ones with difficult paperwork.Mothernerd - It sounds like you are doing tremendously well - it's good to hear that your doctor thought that you were doing a good job. Sometimes it is nice to have that reassurance. I hadn't thought of a from the bed tidy - sound like a cunning plan. I may give a from the armchair tidy a go.Kitchen is still in chaos due to the cupboard reorganisation but am making progress. I now have things in the drawers with the low sides that don't fall out when the drawers are opened which is a bonus - it remains to be seen if I can remember where I have moved things to. Have thought about some minor changes to improve the storage available, possibly a wall mounted magnetic knife rack and a rail to hang the utensils from. That will take the things in the drawer back to a managable level.I have been hitting one thing at once - 1 set of drawers, cupboard etc. but today have hit the cupboard of doom - the cupboards under the sink! I am sure that some of the things I found must have been in the house when we moved in and neither I or OH remembered them! Trying to work out if I can find a suitable free standing shelf to go in the upboard on the side the sink isn't to try and give a bit more storage space. If I can do that I should be able to get it back in a fairly organised fashion.Right - need to go and cook some tea - and once it is in the oven try and get some more contents of the cupboard of doom out the way.2024 Fashion on the Ration - 3.5/66.5 coupons remaining1 cardigan - 5 coupons13 prs ankle socks - 13 coupons5 prs leggings - 10 coupons4 prs dungarees - 24 coupons1 cord jacket - 11 couponstotal 63 coupons9

I found some baby kitchen items in the top cupboard - sold on flea bay yesterday and packaged and sent today. Also a train set that LO hasn’t played with lately so that’s another large box out. I listed a couple more little items on flea bay but if they don’t sell by tomorrow I think I will take them to CS with some crockery and books I have been storing but haven’t used for ages…. The car is washed and vacuumed today and I am very pleased, I also went for a long walk. This thread is very busy which is very encouraging. Hope to feel energised to do a bit more decluttering and cleaning tomorrow. 😊9

Next day off is next Tuesday as it's the day after my flu jab: better they get to sort out a replacement now than on the day. One never knows if the vaccine will result in a stiff arm or being completely poleaxed!

@skogar sounds like you've been really busy, along with many others here.
Slight overwhelm. Knew decorating would be delayed given everything over summer but forgot my plan to put carpet in the room which is now my office as still working at home. Gets v cold and can feel draught from under the floorboards. I have to empty the room for carpet or pay for stuff to be moved - don't mind the larger things but so much - if I don't do til jan then feels like may not be worth it.... will have been cold for months and then I may move in 18 monthsI will clear abit but will be slow.

1879 bits of rubbish left by DD1
trying to think of categories to sort, eg. electrics/cables, pens/stationery etc but cables and electrics is quite overwhelming as don't know what they belong to - trying to put elastic around and put all together to sort another day.8 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Tuesday was mainly dry but oh so cold. DH spent time (freezing) in the garage - tidying up & making my birthday present 😉😉 I did complete one frog - made a 3rd batch of tomato chutney - 3 jars. Continued with another frog - transcribed a few more recipes. No joy with ERNIE but DH won £75 🙂 Dinner was Chinese takeaway. Wudupa.
2059 - 2062 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, large bag of office recycling, plastic bottle - recycled
2063 - 2064 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Good work vulpix - every bit counts 👏 Can I ask where you purchased the dressing gown?
What a great result Wednesday2000 👏 I trust you still have enough warm clothing to see you through winter 😉
bit_by_bit, your DH is trying hard to earn another medal 😉 You seem to be chipping away at the contents of the RoD nicely & although you seem to think you are not creating any space I believe you should soon notice that you can move around more freely 🙂 I think the gremlins have moved in bringing more bags of books 😉 Great work in training your DD 👏 A family of declutterers 🥳
Sorry I am nodding off so will be back later to finish cheerleading 😔

Good Morning all,
Mrs SD, the dressing gown was from M N S. When I inherited Mr V he came with his present dressing gown. I bought him a new one but he never wore it as it was velour, it is long gone to the chazzer.
I asked an assistant in M N S if they had all their stock out as there wasn't the size I wanted. She went and checked and said they had more, but they are £65. I always thought I looked smart when I go out. I must look like I couldn't afford it.
Mr SD is so handy. Pumpkins, woodwork, mechanic. Talented man.
I have almost finished a batch of party sprouts and bagged up wild bird seed as reindeer food for the Christmas Fair. I ran out of googly eyes so need a visit to Poundland. I have volunteered myself to make a seat cover for someone whose dog ate a seat cushion off their armchair. I enjoy sewing. One good turn etc.
I have no plans for today so in theory could eat some frogs!
