Hi,
Very good news about your partner Liverpool_Anne. She will feel so much better for just being at home.
Vascoda, What! I hope you are able to enjoy your break. I am so cross on your behalf. You of all people need a break and one without complications.
Lovely kittycat BBC
We had a day out yesterday in Sheffield. After saying I will try not to buy anything other than food and replacement toiletries and cleaning supplies ,I bought myself some warm joggers for wearing round the house and a cardigan. I then bought a coat from the chazzer. It is a nice coat though, just need some cold weather now.
We have booked a few days away next month. First Oxfordshire to see DS and DIL then Bath, with them. We are going to DIL's school fair. I am on a production line with party sprouts to sell there for school funds.
Almost all of my Christmas shopping is done. I have drawn DD2 in our family secret Santa. She was saying the other day she has most things for her new house except a kettle. So a kettle is what I will buy her. We are spending £30 each. Mothers are not included in the secret Santa. I keep buying my Mum Cadburys gingerbread chocolate bar and eating it, replacing it ad infinitum. I could live off the stuff. She is having more than a chocolate barMe n Mr V are still buying for each other too. The selfish thing also has a Birthday the week before Christmas. Most inconsiderate. It feels strange not buying gifts for everyone. If we continue with this it will take me several lifetimes to use up my wrapping paper stash!
Nothing has been decluttered other than household recycling. Poor Mr V now has a cold on top of his run of working night and day. I can't push him about the sheds. It will be back to normal a week today we can push on then.

Big squeezy hugs to all in need.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger. Thankyou for your kind words. It is I who is lucky to have friends who will follow me on my mad ideas and make them happenI like the idea of a Friday Frog. IAlliteration always works for me, lol.
LOL, @Blackberrycurved. Mr Bond's cat is definitely disrupting your plans
@skogar - nothing like a cunning plan
A great start to the day on this thread despite the weather here in Derby. I love a laugh
@mothernerd . Its fanatastic that you have met your target. I have just been doing a sort out of my scattered noteooks. It really does help to write it all down then you can sort the mash in your (my) head to a sensible manageable list to deal with. You look very organised for all the health stuff next week. I hope it goes smoothly as planned.
@Liverpool_Anne . Glad hubby home. Make sure you book yourself some rest time in everyday. Caring can be very tiring .
Poor MrV @vulpix. You both have a lot on. I hope he recovers soon. Would it be possible to make small 'presents' for a lucky dip for the school while you are selling sprouts?? It would used up some of the wrapping paper.
Today I have a few plans. DD has arranged for us to go to a local craft fair and visit to the newly refurbished Museum of Making. I could do with the time at home but every moment is precious wih her as she is aiming to leave home for good soon.
After that some more to do in the RoD and I want to start listing some of the stuff I have pile up to sell.
I have a load of apples to use up (apple upside down cake and my: fave apple and blackberry crumble) I am going to try dryng slices of apple for a health snack too.
I did a bit more work on the Room of Doom last night. Cleared the insides and top of one of the store cupboards. Wierdly I found a gift box with old socks and pants in. A bit of a house reorganisation is on the cards. I want move a huge shelf from the porch upstairs for storing sales stuff and a smaller downstairs to store shoes. Its a mess on entering the house and there are only three of us not five living here now. Most of the stuff isn't used regularly anyway.
I have always wanted a utility room/boot room but DH not interested.
We would have to build out of the side of the house which would close off some of the long drive we have. We can fit 3 cars down the side of the house right now plus 2 on the drive. We would have to have new garage as that is on the end of the drive. I haven't given up though. It took him years to agree to the loo under the stairs.
Sorry about the long post

I sorted out my pantry cupboard in the kitchen and found 5 bottles of washing up liquid, 3 bottles of dishwasher rinse aid I didn’t know I had. Must try to be more organised rather than just throw everything in!!7

Well after my porch being full from granddaughters clear out I have actually managed to sell £75 worth for her in a few days. This is for her to buy accessories for her to be newly decorated bedroom. There's still a fair amount to go but I said once I get to £100 the rest can go to charity (or maybe before that if it takes too long). If it drags on I may just make the money up myself and take the rest to charity anyway
I also sold my virtually new sofa bed as Im going back to a normal sofa in my conservatory - long story. Its paid for a bed in the spare room as my son is coming to stay with me for a while and as hes having two operations he cant sleep on a sofa bed as he needs more support. That bedroom looks lovely since I altered a quilt cover to fit it and already had matching curtains. Pleased with it overall, very calming. Until my son arrives no doubt.
Looking in an already cleared drawer (lol) I found 4 old £20 notes last night in a sock.
AND my two freezers are nearly empty ready to restock in about a month. Eating what there already is has been interesting.
Surely I am coming to the end of it now.............

Hello all, gosh you lot can post 😁 I have read back over 5 pages today, serves me right for not keeping up ! Lots of lovely messages and helpful suggestions, reading them helps me when times are grim, even when they are meant for others. Hope no-one minds if I borrow them ?Yesterday I decluttered our DGD's 10th birthday card and presents but as she was still isolating we stood masked up for about 20mins at the open patio doors while she opened her presents and then we sang when she blew out her cake candles. I was upset in the car and she sobbed after we left 😭 However she had perked up by the time we video called her in the evening when she showed us all her presents.... in detail 🤣 We even sat through 2 chapters of her new book about horses, she's mad about them !Today I jumped up and down on the 2 large empty boxes from my new my jigsaw puzzle delivery and put the cardboard into the recycling bag. The brown paper packaging has gone in the bin as sadly the PTB won't recycle paper anymore, only leaflets and letters 🙄 Can't see the difference myself between paper and letters.Clumsy Clara was about this week and I broke the handle off the living room to kitchen door. Luckily Justin came to the rescue as we had bought a new set as spares a while ago. Took me 3 days to pluck up the courage to rummage through the under the stairs cupboard, which holds leftover wallpaper, brushes, decorating sheets etc and the hedge cutter 😂 I have to get on my hands and knees to access it and luckily the bag containing handles was staring me in the face when I opened the door. Think I will have to put that area on my sorting out list too.Take care all, hugs to everyone.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Thanks for some lovely, inspiring posts with lots of ideas.
Nannywindow what a shame that your DGD had to have a socially isolated birthday. It's hard enough for the grown ups to deal with but the world must seem very confusing for our young ones.
The rainy weather has kept me mostly at home so a good opportunity to declutter. 80 items binned or in the charity shop. I can't say it's easy. Hopefully it will get easier the more of it I do. I find things that people have given me as a gift the most difficult to get rid of. They were given with a good heart so it feels a bit disloyal to dispose of gifts even when they aren't to my taste.
The house looks better already. Now that all the visual clutter on the shelves has been reduced it feels much calmer.
Onward and upward in the decluttering and minimising!

Wow @chirpycheap 80 items that's fabulous and very impressive.
@nannywindow great shame about the isolation but sounds like your DGD had a lovely birthday and one to remember.
Back home and having to climb over stuff.... not sure how.my one off cleaning help will work.
Just put 3 boxes in bin , things aren't selling and takes too much time so intention to take to cs. Read book on organising for adhd, not sure if this is me but some strong traits and / or dyslexia but my girls don't seem to be able to follow through on task, put lids on things or close drawers or cupboards and I'm so clumsy. Goinf for efficiency and safety over beauty!7 -
Well I went to the craft fair and bought a rattan waste basket for me, DD a piece of jewellery and DH some tree ornaments and cards.
Back home I mad a banana loaf, 3 x apple and blackberry crumbles and two apple and cinnamon sponges. All the apples and blackberries were harvested from the allotments so free food. The apples were windfalls.
Pretty pleased with that but even more pleased with DH who used all the last of the spare wood and a pallet to build a second wood store. He has even built a frame on top so I can have a 'rooftop' garden on it. This solves two problems: we have got a rid of the wood and I can get all the logs out of my potting shed.
Might pull in a little time in the RoD before bed.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
