1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
Hangs head in shame 😔 as I completely forgot to post yesterday 😔 So here goes - Friday it rained on & off all day, quite often heavily & was cold ☹️ DH did the weekly shop, DSis was unwell so spent the entire day in her room mostly sleeping and I watched TV most of the day. I did pack away the shopping & started a Friday Frog - thinly sliced onions & tomatoes & salted to remove moisture - left overnight in preparation for making a third batch of tomato chutney (new recipe) Dinner was from the freezer - lo pasta in Bolognese sauce with added roasted hg tomatoes topped with mozzarella & baked for DH & me. DSis had a tin of chicken soup. Wudupa. Forgot to mention that DH had ordered the next book in the Shipyard Girls series & it arrived Thursday afternoon.
2039 - 2041 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard packaging - recycled
2042 - 2043 Kitchen detritus, office detritus - binned
Saturday has been a bright, sunny day so far but so cold in the shade. DH was very surprised at the delivery of flowers for my birthday 🤔😱 as he had ordered them for next Saturday 😱 Regardless they are absolutely beautiful & will hopefully last 🤞DSis is still in her room, DH has just had a phone chat with my DB who has returned from a family holiday in The Maldives. DH is about to start glossing the skirting board & I am about to go out & pick up some treats for Halloween - both having a coffee before we start 😉😔😉
So off I go with the cheerleading
TC77 sorry 😞 I had to smile at your description of the mess left by DD1 🙂 but you must have felt overwhelmed 😱 However, being the person you are you have rolled up your sleeves & got on with it 👏🏅 as evidenced by taking 4 bags to the CS 👏 As to the crutches, if at all possible & you have the space in the car I would definitely keep one pair. As to the other 2 pairs if you cannot get the NHS to take them back perhaps there is a homeless shelter or refuge that could make use of them?
What a great idea Floss 👏 but seems like TC77 has it all under control & has made provision to get it sorted 👏
Great work TC77 👏
What a beautiful & thoughtful post, wort 👏🙂 I especially like “Something these threads have taught me is that it’s better to let someone else have the use of items that may languish in rooms until they are no longer usable. This applies to furniture, ornaments and clothes. I hope you find it easier by being part of this group . Little and often is as good as huge amounts”
What a lovely post Siebrie - thoughtful & considered 👏🙂
A timely reminder short_bird - regardless of why we are keeping clothing, we do need to make sure the moths don’t get at them. I have added a ‘wardrobe overhaul’ to my To Do list when I can get into the spare room 😉
I love the pictures Floss & I agree with florianatwobob - what a brilliant idea 👏🏅
You are very welcome bit_by_bit 🙂 You really are charging along 👏 & how lovely that you get to know exactly where items are going 🙂 Your Malawian friend is lucky to know you 🙂 Well done on starting your Friday Frog 👏😉 As you can see, I am determined that Friday Frog will take off as an idea 🤣 It might even make it onto my top of post list for 2022 🙂
Never rains but it pours Blackberrycurved 🙄 Deciding to declutter is such a huge decision to reach & then to have to rely on others to help out who then let you down (for whatever reason) makes you question your decision 😖 However you have modified your plans 👏 & have now been thrown another curve ball 😔 Best place to be to rethink 🙂👏
That is a huge task chirpycheap 🤩👏 As a suggestion is it possible to scan your favourite ones as & when you find them (then transfer to a stick)? At least you have a Decluttering Buddy 🙂 You can have a mini competition with your dear mum (DM) 🙂
A brilliant post Liverpool_Anne 👏🙂 A medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂
Unfortunately although I am nearly finished with the cheerleading my iPad has run out of charge ☹️

Hugs to everyone that needs / would like one.
Sounds like a few hugs may be needed.
Friday - 2 pairs of glasses take to be fixed - now both back in action.Have started major tidy up and reorganisation of kitchen. Have decided that there needs to be much more reoorganisation than originally anticipated! No major layout changes in terms of units - but where things are stored and where small apliances etc are used needs a complete rethink. Decluttering of ktchen stuff continuing as we go. Have been trying to hit individual cupboards, drawers etc to maintain progress which was working quite well until I decided that where I am storing some of the stuff makes no logical sense and is making things difficult to find. Am trying to come up with a sembalance of a cunning plan for where and how things should be stored going forward.Trying to declutter myself off quite a few email lists as well.FINALLY have replaced the bed in the back room (old hand me down) with a new to me bed which I bought just before the first lockdown. Reached my total of 2021/ 2021. Mostly ferocious rounding up of recycling (22 bags of various types). However one of my regular challenges has set a target of 60 things to go in November (not sure if that will be included in the reverse advent calendar or be in addition to it). We shall see.
Have to sort out many pages of scribbled notes and condense them down before my face to face with the doctor on Monday (at least 4 issues to tackle - discuss progress). He will give me my flu jab and mum will be given hers by the Practice nurse at the same time. Will collect papers from the receptionist and mum will go to have her bloods taken. Mine was originally booked for the same time but it's a fasting blood test and if I can't eat until after 2.30 pm, I'll be shaking and falling over. So switched it to early on Friday morning (have to be there for boob squash in the afternoon so will use the time shuttling back and forth on the little bus and do my in town errands). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
1838 -39 more bags of rubbish out
2 bags to CS and 3 more items down 1840 - 1844
box and recycling 1845-1846
1847 emails deleted (amazing how built up over last week or two).
went into bank to sort problem out - quicker than phone 1848 (will find out next week if successful)
came down to my dad's - have box of books and airer to bring back but have binned old food, and lots of plastic old ice cream tubs (used for storing all sorts of things. Very organised but lots of things. count as 2 1849 -1850
If other people's things tending to count a group of things as 1 whereas mine so much harder so usually every item counted.
@mothernerd.. good luck with all appts.
Still have pain and bruising in my leg from what seemed a minor(ish) cut - did have glue and sterristrips as too close to bone to stitch but dr says think I cut a vein so alot of bleeding and therefore pain. Will make a list of frogs for next week as Nov is my month to catch up abit to where I wanted to be in the Spring in relation to my house.
Nice time with DD2 deciding what we may want from my dad's house.8 -

DH did do the glossing & I did go to sm. Ended up picking up not only treats for the trick or treaters (I think they will be out in force tomorrow 😉) but also a couple of bottles of wine, toilet roll, cough medicine, bottle of Advocaat & box of chocolates for DSis’s birthday. I never did make the chutney ☹️ it is now a job for tomorrow. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. Wudupa.

Vascodakarma what an inconsiderate bunch of ……………… 😡 However, I hope the manager honours your very specific booking & you are reinstated to the type of cabin you have already paid for 🤞🤞 New haircut, beauty box & a fine selection of clothing - you are all set to have a lovely time & with any luck you will get invited to sit at the captain’s table 🙂🙂
TC77 lovely sentiments for Vascodakarma, Blackberrycurved & Floss 🙂 Excellent decluttering work getting DD1 settled in her new flat 👏 Good idea to get the cleaner to start with the downstairs so you & DD2 can have somewhere nice to relax 👏🙂 Really love your new motto & think you should keep it to at least the end of 2021 😉 A precious commodity- a dentist dealing with something within 24 hours 🥳
Good work EnergyShifter - keeping up the momentum 👏
Excellent decluttering Blackberrycurved 👏 Your cat is absolutely gorgeous 🙂 I just want to give it a cuddle 🤗
skogar, Friday Frog completed - you have your spectacles back in action 👏🙂 Good luck with the kitchen reorganisation 🤞 You are putting me to shame by being so proactive 😔- I have 2 double cupboards, 2 deep & 3 shallow drawers to sort ☹️ Hope the new bed is comfortable 🙂 & no need to be embarrassed - you can claim it as a frog completed 😉
mothernerd, yippee to reaching your target 🥳 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way - which reminds me that I owe myself a Gold Star ⭐️😉 Sounds like busy times ahead re medical matters for both you & your mum. Hope all the treatments/appointments go really well 🤞
You have been busy TC77 👏 Embarrassed to say that I am rather pleased that I am not the only one who finds decluttering other people’s stuff easier to do than my own 😉😉 Try not to bring back too many treasures from your dad’s house 😉 So sorry to hear you are in pain - is there anything the doctor can do? or is it just a case of healing naturally over a period of time? November as a dealing with frogs month 🤩 mind you that should set you up for a relaxing Christmas 🤞
Night, night 🙂

Hi all, news is OH is home
not 100% yet and a few things to do but all doable.
@mothernerd, so lovely to see you again and hopefully all the medical appointments go well. I hate the boob squashing but never miss them. You are an inspiration to us all with everything you get done
Thank you for my medal Mrs SD.
I will be back at it tomorrow to try to catch up with everything now I don't have to fit in the hospital visits and associated washing/ drying
On another note I am getting a bit annoyed with M Macron and the gubberments. I admit to a long standing annoyance with the French that goes back to 1066 and works it's way through sinking the rainbow warrior, burning lambs and now fishing rights. Rant over
Take care everyone10 -
Woke very early and decided to give up trying to sleep but only just realised the clocks went back and quite how early!
Put some glass together for recycling, old medicines and crockery that matches but want to be at my dad's with my DB to agree how to dispose (big things and general approach-e.g donate alot).8
