My son is coming to stay tomorrow. Love it. I will get him to help me in the garden on Tuesday.
Had a lovely afternoon with my girls. DD1 brought me 2 mice ornaments that she found when she took A CAR FULL of stuff to Emmaus charity shop. She is going for it now she knows she is moving to Shetland. She took the drawers and sorted the family secret Santa. Sent to email, someone will be disappointed, I can't remember the password!
Trick or treat bags finished ready to deliver tomorrow for Wednesday coffee morning sale. One of the 2 door curtains shortened and hung back up. The other one pinned but too tired to finish it now. They have been fiddly. Took 72cm off.
Best wishes to all

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
4. CLEAN & EMPTY SURFACE AREAS - DAILY
DH watched the MotoGP races. I did sweet nothing on Sunday. Dinner was hm soup for DH & me with the focaccia my DSis didn’t want. DSis had a portion of cottage pie from the freezer + peas. Wudupa.

Blackberrycurved well done on taking care of your mental decluttering 👏 - a bit of tlc & it sounds like you are ready to tackle the world 🙂 and you have already started by tackling kitchen, washing, hall & vestibule 🤩 Good luck with Slimming World 😉
Liverpool_Anne yippee to car passing it’s MOT 🥳
What an interesting & informative post skogar 👏 Progress might be slow but it is still progress 👏
bit_by_bit, what a shock about your SiL ☹️ but I am pleased that she is now on the mend. Well done on planting new oaks - you eco warrior you 🙂👏 Excellent work on the sheds 👏 & 2 bags of rubbish gone 👏 A lovely caring post 👏
Great decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 Very pleased that your ‘worry’ has been put in its place & that you are in control 🙂
Great work skogar 👏 At least it is only 2 of each 😉
TC77 great decluttering by you & DD1 👏 Good luck with the next layer of your decluttering 🤞Excellent work TC77 👏
Thanks vulpix 👏 relief all round 😥 Another eco warrior 🙂 I am keeping everything crossed that your acorn grows well over the winter 🤞 Very ‘crafty’ of you & as long as you enjoyed making the Trick or Treat bags, it is a good use of your time 🙂 All your hard work is paying off - surprise guests are no longer to be dreaded 😉 Well done on chipping away at frogs 👏
Sorry to hear that you are struggling with ill health, mothernerd ☹️ However, you are helping yourself by taking multivitamins & eating a bit better 🙂 Hopefully the face to face with your doctor will give you some answers & solutions 🤞Meanwhile I am in awe at the sheer amount of physical & hard graft that you have completed especially as you have done it all at your own pace & trying to look after your body at the same time 👏 Being responsible for your DM’s tax return & her medicines as well as your own must be very wearying & worrying but you are being proactive even though you are not firing on all cylinders ☹️ There are 3 Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ on their way & my unstinting admiration for your perseverance 👏🙂 Not heard of the reverse advent calendar but sounds like a great way to get rid of a lot of items - I make it 300 - wow 🤩
How very worrying Liverpool_Anne ☹️ but at least OH is in the best place as it sounds like the hospital is on top of the situation. Like Blackberrycurved, I am sending positive thoughts & good wishes to you both. Please take of yourself.
Lovely post retiredinfrance 👏
I am posting now although not quite finished with the cheerleading - don’t want to lose this post 😉

Just checking in. AWOL for a few more days as my sister is here from US and we are having a few days out and overnight stay away tonight. Decluttered some papers from mum's stuff to her as they are letters my sister wrote to my parents some from when she first emigrated 50 + years ago and some nearly 70 years ago when she was a child.

Hello all, long time no see, sorry. I have a lot of ongoing health issues, including my mouth and I felt that every time I posted I was moaning and not much decluttering has been happening either 😒We should have been picking up our boat for our Norfolk Broads hols today but DGD tested positive on Sat for the virus. Poor thing she was so upset that she'd put the kybosh on things ( we were going away with DD and family) so we've been telling her it's no-ones fault. Luckily she feels fine with no symptoms but she was here on Thursday for a short while so we're also watching and waiting, just in case too 😱 This morning I have been unpacking and putting everything away but we have deferred our hols till Feb.... we'll probably have snow or the river will be frozen then, but I don't care, I'm going !!( 🤞🏽). If you hear someone trying to sing the "The Frozen Song " in Norfolk that'll be me and not a cat with it's tail caught in the door 🤣 The silver lining is the house was cleaned and tidied before the hols were called off, so nothing to do there. We ordered a chinese takeaway yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. t'was very naughty and there's enough left over for tonight, yum, yum 😋The drive man has been contacted again this morning (he was put on hold for this week and will get back to us later with a new date ) but we want to remove about half a ton of decorative gravel from the edge before he starts. I'm not letting them go into a skip as they were really expensive, so hopefully we can start on that after lunch if the rain holds off. Cheapskate 😁I am hoping I can get back into posting again, if my hands will allow me to type, some days it's a struggle to hit the right letter on the keyboard.Take care all, lots of love and hugs to everyone.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8

A sad story:
A friend has inherited her brothers house after he passed away fairly quickly from cancer. Its a terrace and still has a mortgage on it. Yesterday she sent me pictures of the inside and oh my, if you have watched that programme filthy house sos (no disrespect intended) you will know what its like. She is totally overwhelmed with the amount of clearing out she has been left with. Every single room in the house is piled up and filthy. Black mould everywhere. And you cant get her skip in the one way narrow street. I suggested she pay someone to come in and just clear it but the expense would be quite high I imagine.
It is a reminder that we never know when we wont be here and need to take on board what we will be leaving for others to sort out.
I then went to clear out another cupboard which I had already done so there wasn't much in it. Every time I see something like that it makes me clean something.
Good story:
My sister, who lives in New Zealand, sent me pictures of her clothes drawers and food cupboards and I have to say they are as tidy as when I visited 6 years ago and did them for her.
My sister says I'm OCD at times. I don't know why.

Afternoon all. Popping in quickly to report 1 item sold and out the house now (won't make up for all the Christmas presents taking up room on the spare bed!)
Wishing your husband a speedy recovery @Liverpool_Anne and you definitely deserve a gold star @mothernerd for all your hard work - you'll definitely hit the 2021 target by the end of the year! In addition to helping my parents declutter their house, we'll also be helping my MiL clear her friend's house - not quite as bad as the one in your story @p00 but we'll be coming back with a lot of model trains 😳🤔

A fair bot of decluttering occurred over the weekend.
DH knocked out a weird bricked area which was doing nothing in the sitting room and replaced it with an ikea cube storage unit. I invested in some drawer and shelf inserts to make the most of the space and all of DD's toys (bar the bulky stuff) fit inside it
This took all her toys and books from in front of the fire to a sensible place and means we can use the fire.
(Claiming 6 as 6 cubes)
4 books to the charity pile
This also freed up 2 storage boxes, one was fabric and not in great condition so binned and one will go back to DH's workshop for him to use. Also freed up a set of drawers but don't have an exit plan for those so not counted yet. Space wise, the bulky stuff - kitchen, baby bed, baby pram etc all now fit tidily under the stairs
Thankful for the rain as it put DH off his original task for the day until it stopped at 3pm, which meant I could take advantage of the loose end!!
I went through all my EBay listings and took off everything that hasn't sold after a few weeks - 17 items to the charity bag, which will get dropped off today. I don't mind donating these, my sales since the start of Sep paid for the storage unit so I consider that a win. Also one of DD's tops came out of the wash still fully stained despite a soak so that's in the material recycycling.

Mind if I join you?
It's just me and OH in a fairly big house which is full of "stuff". I have way too much kitchen stuff, we both have far too many clothes (lots of which don't fit!) and not enough furniture to put everything away in, OH works in IT so has loads of kit round the place. Oh and our house is a "project" so we are constantly trying to find the "9th square" to store things as we move onto working in another room.
So far today I have freecycled a raincoat and two handbags. A small start but a start! Also have two boxes on the go for MM and Z1ffit of DVDs, CDs and books.11 -
p00 a cautionary tale. I am very conscious of what I will leave behind when I am gone. Mr V not so much.😂
grannykate I don’t think you moan. I think it’s good to share.
I have been to the gum specialist today. Dd1 says I cannot say gum clinic! A combination of factors have contributed.Smoking in the past and an autoimmune response to stress. All is not lost. I need a course of treatments and then reevaluate. Just genetics. Other people wouldn’t have the same response as me. Typical.Ds is here, cooking our dinner. He has already cut me down some young trees that were growing in a wall and cut down some out of control shrubs which were tree size. More of the same tomorrow plus giant pot moving
good to hear everyone’s news.
I will update again.Vx:9
