2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Hello All
just back home for a few days. My intentions were to attack my awful mess but to be brutally honest I have done very little. I am exhausted. More mentally than anything else. Because of that came the 'stress eating' and I am carrying so much extra weight goodness knows when I will deal with that.
It only took 3 and a half months to diagnose my father with bone cancer. Despite classic symptoms. It is exhausting and painful to watch someone you love in agony. I cannot say anymore.
In that time my niece contracted 'The Virus' so we all had to isolate. Not easy.
And last weekend Mum fell on a rake and ended up with 3 very neatly spaced (deep) puncture wounds. Does anyone blame me for not wanting to see a hospital ever again ?
Lots of other things to deal with so I hope you don't mind me decluttering my experiences.
Am going to attempt something today. Not sure what................just something.
Happy Kitties. It all beggers belief. Had you told us any of your experiences a year ago the immediate reaction would be shock. Sadly not the case today. Not after the last 4 months. So pleased your Doctor had the courage and gumption to stand up for you.
Happy decluttering to all.
Be back soon

@balabooberlies big hugs lovey, and I'm so sorry to read about your dad's illness. Maybe achieve a little self-care today? A soak in the bath, paint your toenails & a bit of R&R out of the way may help restore you a little x2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Sorry to hear about your fall Mrs SD – although we don’t tend to call them falls anymore – random gravity tests!I did not manage to get into town at all last week, I was just too tired, nothing left inside my boots. Talking about boots, I’m loathe to Declutter my favourite pair but they have split across the sole and beyond repair - rather like the wearer.12

Sorry life is so rubbish at the moment Bala.Don’t worry about it Mrs SD. Your cheerleading goes above and beyond, so think of it as a small well deserved rest.My decluttering mojo which was faltering anyway is now on life support courtesy of parent. I was quite pleased with the progress I’d made since the start of the year, but when we were talking about her getting a cleaner, she told me they’d take one look at my place and run a mile.
I told her she was being unkind, but am now feeling what’s the point if it makes no odds anyway.Thoroughly deflated about it all.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.11 -
So sorry to hear of everyones woes.xxx
Bala, you are coping extremely well under very trying circumstances. xxxx
elsien, ouch. Only mothers can hit that spot so well! You are not the one having a cleaner and are living how you want to, not how your Mother lives. The point of it is you are doing it your way and you have made the progress that you want to with decluttering. It is such a personal thing. xxxx Sorry if that sounds blunt, it isn't meant to be, I am just not very good at diplomacy.
Thank you for more recommendations about the North East. I had a customer from there yesterday and he recommended Bamburgh.
Mrs SD ! take more water with it! Seriously, I hope you are ok.x
We didn't do the car boot sale, not raining now but did yesterday and it will be soggy underfoot. It also feels like we are constantly on the go. A bit of down time needed.
We are considering leaving work. There is a new member of staff who has sucked all the pleasure out of it for both of us. We have been feeling the same for about a month. We don't NEED to work we just like it and it keeps the grey cells active.
Have a restful day all
Vx

Enjoy your trip Mrs SD - no pun intended. Sounds like something I would enjoy. Washing all done so just waiting for it to dry. I have put holiday stuff away.
Sad to hear of a death in my extended family yesterday - not someone I knew well but she was younger than me I believe.
Teenagers (oldest 4 GCs) arrive today and tomorrow 2 girls and 2 boys - 13,14, 15 and 16. So ready for towels on beds, make up tissues, crisp packets and drinks cans spread around. There will be one set of parents here.
I have still not quite decluttered the pain from tooth extraction - much better but jaw and side of face are sore from the manipulation. Fell asleep really early after long drive home and woke up at silly o'clock (4.30) so I have been doing competitions and surveys.
Off out for a short visit to DS2 and younger DGCs then I will do some cleaning and tidying. Hugs to all who need them.2025 Decluttering Campaign 604/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I've got another whole day off with nothing to do so am I decluttering? No I'm sat eating sausage and egg and reading a clothes catalogue planning to spend a little of my lodger rent money on some new (smaller) clothes. It's fab, I've been wearing ancient t shirts and joggers for a couple of years and I'm sick of it, I want a bit of colour now. Feeling for those of us here who've had trips and falls too, it shakes you up doesn't it even if no real harm done.Magnolia Stellata10

My mum used to get quite exasperated at my grubby, untidy, lived-in-by-teenagers home, but eventually conceded defeat and gave me a hankie embroidered with "Only dull women have tidy houses" 😁2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
