Hello all, don't know when I posted here last and there's so many pages to catch up on, but nice to see so many lovely people decluttering. I'm sad to see lots of you with problems though, so I shall send you gentle hugs and I hope that things get better sooner rather than later. We have decluttered all the treatments, yipee! Nearly 1000 miles done and over 80hrs spent to and from the hospital plus treatment time, so glad it's all over but DH isn't doing too well at the moment, he's up and down like the buses. Fingers crossed the side effects will pass in 2-3 weeks and not the 2-3 months or longer they indicate it may take. Sorry I digress.Decluttered umpteen emails and 3 more books. 6 cd's and a black handbag to the cs. ( I always have a cs bag on the go and drop things in as I come across them otherwise I'll forget and they'll never be gone ) Several (5) odd socks ( waited for their mates to turn up but sadly no luck, wonder where they went ? ) A pair of gardening gloves beyond the point of any more mending and 2 manky forks, binned. The boxes and packaging from a delivery of M&S flowers and chocs sent to me by DH for looking after him. Daft a'porth, methinks I'll keep him a while longer 🥰 I did share my chocs with him though. In the green garden waste bin a huge amount of weeds and grass cuttings, only managed to cut the front lawns today and the back lawn still awaits it's short back and sides. It's surprised me how quickly things have grown, sadly the garden got put on the back burner as I could only manage to keep the washing down, feed us and the house ticking over ( so I was practising what I preached for a change ! )Right enough from the Welsh waffler, hope I haven't bored you all to death 🤣Take care all, stay safe.nan

Good work on dealing with an admin frog 👏 and very MSE on resisting temptation & finding a new sm 👏🙂 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for the great suggestion given to 3secondmemory 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hope you have a lovely trip with DS2 & DGCs & that your purse doesn’t take too much of a hammering 🤞😉Thanks for the useful information 3secondmemory 👏 You should be very proud of yourself with the inroads you are making 👏 This is definitely a safe place to share your ‘clutter foibles’ 🙂 No judgement here as we all have our clutter challenges 🙂 We are here to share our successful & not so successful methods of decluttering, offer advice/useful strategies & give each the encouragement we need to have a clutter free life 🙂 Wow 3secondmemory - very impressed that you have tackled a 2018/2019 frog 🤩 & what a result. Your ADHD coach was definitely worth the initial expense as you are already reaping the benefits 👏
Well said retiredinfrance 👏 anything we can do to help build 3secondmemory’s confidence in her ability to deal with the clutter is to be commended 🙂Nice to see you vulpix 👋 congratulations on getting your internet 👏🥳 A new home 🙂 and a cottage at that 🙂 You must be so happy that it is only the pantry & spare room that are full of boxes 😉 it could have been so much more without your previous decluttering 😉 I had to smile at the ‘kitting out the street with pictures & mirrors 😁 I hope you are staying safe whilst gardening - plenty of fluids & protection from the sun. Looking forward to seeing you posting now that you are connected 🙂Great work Gem-gem 👏 Your mini library sounds wonderful 🙂Good work TC77 👏 Shame about not being able to visit your dad but as you say better safe than sorry 🙂 Lovely comments to other posters - this is one of the many reasons I love this thread - support & encouragement from everyone 🙂👏
Liverpool_Anne, rather surprised to see you think you are ‘not doing much’ 🙄 I was quite exhausted reading your very long list of accomplishments 🙂👏 I hope you are getting excited (as well as being a bit sad) that there is only one week to go? Thank you for sharing the tip about washing white clothing - I do have soda crystals & have taken to putting a small amount in every wash load. Flaming typical about the dentist’s QR code - you couldn’t make it up 😉 🙄
Great post balabooberlies 👏
nannywindow, Yippee to the end of DH’s treatments 🥳 but so sorry that DH is suffering so badly from the side effects ☹️ Regardless of all the time & energy expended, you have still managed to keep up with the decluttering. I haven’t heard the expression ‘daft a’porth’ in such a long time but it still brings a smile to my face - a very gentle admonition 🙂🙂I did have to pick myself off the floor when I read “Welsh waffler’ 🤣MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 1354/20212021 Savings Pot: £225.90 to end of JulyBe Kind. Hi, hope you have enjoyed the heat today. I was at work in a cave where it is a constant 9 degrees all year round. It was like opening an oven door when we left work! I out did myself today on the till. Only £16,000 over ring. hahaha, I wish the boss would just sack me to put me out of my misery and shame.
nannywindow hope your lovely husband feels better soon. Just being at home and not travelling so much will be a bonus. xxx
Granny Kate I loved your explanation of dealing with like with like stuff, made a lot of sense to me.
We went to my Mum's and filled the car with car boot sale stuff that was stored there. Ashamed to say that we couldn't get it all in and we have a big car. I wont count any of it in my total as it is an accumulation of mine and DD1's stuff from before I started counting "outs" this year. I will count any money we make though.
Night night, 6am start for me.

I've got a completely free day today so going to have another bash at making some space in my very cluttered hallway. Yesterday I burned a pile of old paperbacks which had gone yellow and brittle and lost pages, no idea why I was keeping those. Turned out a big box I had been waiting to go through actually took me about 15 min so there's a lesson. I sorted out my big kitchen cupboard too, didn't get rid of anything but still made a bit more space. I haven't really got "big stuff" to Chuck now, it's more the annoying bitty stuff which takes ages to sort out for very little gain space wise, but I'm still keeping on.Magnolia Stellata10

Morning MrsSD and fellow declutterers,
A very good week for me on the decluttering and cleaning front.
Tuesday was my day off from work. Spent 2 and a half hours tackling and successfully decluttering the attic (again) after my daughter and her friend created a 'snowstorm' effect in the attic with the little beads you get in those head & neck support fabric things (don't know what they are called). What happened was that this item was pulled apart, and all the insides were spread far and wide around the attic. ☹️☹️ Well I was cursing and grumbling to myself as I was vacuuming over and over again but patience & determination won through so job done. Was firm but fair with our daughter when she came home from school. Suggested she could look to sell some of the items up there as an alternative to pocket money. Have down a potential seed there, needs plenty of watering though I think 😄 let's see. The attic is looking so much better, I have now reclaimed it back as a room again.
Onto Saturday and I spent 5 hours tidying my daughter's bedroom to coincide with end of school term. I am concerned, bordering on fed up at the amount of time she has spent over the last couple of months on electronic devices. Granted she has had a broken leg since mid April and thankfully she has now recovered, no crutches now just has a slight limp. It doesn't help that she sees my wife on these devices a lot, her mental health is not great. I digress. So I thought I would take the time and effort to tidy it up. And it was so hot yesterday. Half filled one large bin bag with debris and mess from her bedroom along with the bin from ours. Amazed at the amount of pens, pencils and felt tips she has. Showed her this, it's all been sorted and the room has been vacuumed and cleaned. Tired at the end of it, needed a shower to recover 😄
Defoliated the courgette plant in the hope of more courgettes to come later this Summer along with some successful pruning of the tomato plants (4 in total). Trusses have formed and tomatoes have emerged, small ones but well formed. Am doing better than last year.
Rest day today. 😄
Thank you MrsSD for my medal and to @TC77 and @balabooberlies for their kind words, cheers 🙂10 -
Bad night with my knees - awful pain out of nowhere whenever I stretched my legs. I was swearing out loud. I’m okay to stand on them but I haven’t tried flexing my knees very much. I’m walking around like a cowboy has lost their horse 😂😂😂
Much of the time is spent on my backside which also really hurts and I have flipping pp’s as we used to call them when I was a school girl 😂😂.I’ve made my bed, had my breakfast and done some tidying up. Yesterday I washed a whole load of old plastic crates and containers that are no longer needed in the house. I will sort out the better ones for the shed and dispatch the rest to good homes. They’ve been very useful for stacking and moving the piles of wood and foliage.I feel like Penelope pitstop – every so often I look in the garden and see a fat pigeon so I hobble out and shoot it with my water gun 😂😂😂
have a gentle day everyone.11
