LOL I got distracted then. The ADHD coach paid for herself because she kept reminding to chase up a money disaster from 2018/19.I’ve never got far enough down my list of things to do to deal with it but I went into the bank and explained the situation as I had been advised by the American company that it involved and left it in their hands. I woke up yesterday afternoon to 200 notifications from the Halifax bank and I thought that my account had been hacked maybe someone had stolen all my money. My poor brain eventually processed that 8 payments taken from my account, and all associated charges had been refunded.I’m glad I don’t get my statements in paper form – 210 payments ranging from £14 down to 11p totalling £216 😂😂😂

Hello, remember me?
We just got internet today, woohoo.
We moved to the cottage with the help of family and friends.
Although I got rid of so much beforehand, I still have too much stuff. The spare room and the pantry are floor to ceiling with boxes. Just goes to show that we don't need whatever is in the boxes as we have managed perfectly well without.
I have skim read the last couple of weeks. Sorry to hear of people having a difficult time, I am glad that you can have a chat here. This thread is full of lovely supportive people ,with whatever problem that needs a kind word.
Welcome to new joiners, all tips and advice available from our chums here.
I have managed to off load more items and made a bit more money. I realised that I could kit out the street with pictures and mirrors!
On the subject of books, when dusting my several hundred one day I realised that I would read very few of them again. I kept 2, One flew over the cuckoos nest and Lorna Doone. I do have a shelf of children's books from my days of working in Early years and KS1. You never know I might be a Granny one day.
Enough from me,I have been working in the garden all day and am pooped. Work tomorrow.

TC77 sending both you and your DD virtual hugs.Mrs SD thanks for the gold star ⭐️
My library started out as a cupboard that I converted - put lots of shelves in. But it didn't take long to out grow it. Like yourself, I never had a house big enough to accommodate one. At the moment, DH and I have two freestanding bookcases and the middle section of a built in wardrobe to house books, DVDs and maps.DH uu paint and painted the front door step.Recycled

@3secondmemory, you are not the only one with binbags in the closet, I have absolutely loads of stuff to sort out and you are an inspiration, you are doing so well and are keeping me focused even though I don't have the energy to do much right now.
@GrannyKate have you tried the washing capsules from Mr A? I have found them to be quite good, try a small size and see what you think. I have recently rediscovered soda crystals and now give my whites an overnight soak in a bucket with a small amount of soda crystals before going in the machine with a washing capsule, even some quite difficult stains are removed and they are positively gleaming on the line
Uu face cream sample,

Almost forgot, went to the dentist and decluttered some money on having 2 broken teeth fixed. After all the stress about QR codes I had another email yesterday to fill in another form but the link didn't work and when I got to the dentist this morning and explained they said "oh yes, the site is down, don't worry" rolls eyes in exasperation.
Take care everyone10 -
Best wishes to everyone struggling with clutter and health issues. Thanks for the advice Liverpool-Anne.
3secondmemory your bin bags are no different to my countless boxes of papers and others sheds, cupboards and drawers of stuff. I would recommend the 'like with like' approach as I suspect your papers are all muddled up. Get some smaller bags - don't read the stuff at this stage other than to note what type it is. Put all similar stuff together in a bag each eg insurance, bank, debts, tax, benefits, pension, general stuff. Then depending on how strong you feel pick one bag to sort even further - there will be lots that can just be shredded or recycled by now. This breaks it down into manageable chunks and means that you know this is all you have on a specific topic and are not wondering if there is more in another bin bag. Everyone here will give lots of support and we all have down days and understand.
Going out later with DS2 and GCs so will probably declutter money. I got a new small rubbish bin and kitchen doormat (to replace the one where the maggots were last week)
1267 Range cooker cleaned - not cheap but money well decluttered
1268-1271 Mugs thrown away - I have too many and picked 4 which are stained and scratched and beyond CS donation
1272 Packaging to tip along with old rubbish bin and pan replaced last week.
1273 Too large pack of bin liners to DS2
1274 Quiz questions done ready for next week
1275 Long meeting last night - papers shredded
1276 Banking and finances updated - I do this at least twice a week now and it works well for me.
Have a good weekend all and don't get sunburnt.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHTi2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉Friday was a a hot, sunny day. DH was busy again in half hour stints - hedge cutting, strimming, filling bird feeders & water bowls & 3 stints at digging out tree stump. He was being good, wearing a hat & drinking plenty. My day was 3rd day of sorting out post immediately, 2 x 5 minutes stints of weeding front path, knitting & clearing down TV planner. Dinner was mushroom risotto 😋
Saturday is another hot, hot day 🙂 DH has potted on a sunflower & done 3 sessions of digging out tree stump. He has also phoned his sister who was pinged this morning - she is not a happy bunny. DH is keeping himself informed about the ‘ping system’ & there is no rhyme or reason to who in a household has to isolate 😡 Surely if one person is pinged the whole household should isolate & test 🙄 Apparently 500,000 people a day are being pinged & our gubberment are washing their hands of the whole thing. Especially when they are still insisting on Monday being ‘Freedom Day’ apparently against all medical advice 😖 I don’t own a mobile (so no pings for me 😉), still not going out very often & I will continue to mask up on public transport & in shops. Sadly we are/have become the “sick man of the world as well as Europe” regardless of the apparent success of the vaccination programme.More knitting for me & post sorted. Plan is to empty & sort the shed 😉
1347 - 1351 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, small plastic bottle, magazine, small cardboard box - recycled
1352 Kitchen detritus - binned
