Hi All,
Thanks Mrs SD for the kind welcome - no wonder this is such a popular thread!
Made a start:
1 & 2 Bags of assorted stuff for black bin
3, 4, 5 Dressing gowns (CS)
6, 7, 8 Jackets (CS)
9 Jumper (CS)
10 & 11 Tops (CS)
12 Trousers (CS)
13 & 14 Assorted bags for CS
Black bin collected today - thanks to our essential workers. Unfortunately no CSs open in our area at the mo so I'm going in search of a charity clothes 'bin' tonight. Determined to get stuff out of the house today! Good luck everyone.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Well my aged brain forgot to set the alarm clock 😞 so Saturday has not started the way I intended 😞 It is overcast & bitterly cold 🥶 Never mind, I have descaled the kettle & had lo cheesy pasta for lunch - dish washed up 😉 Fortunately DH had a burst of activity - he filled the squirrel & bird feeders, fed the worms, washed both motorbikes & had a tidy up in the garage - breaking up 2 cardboard boxes & getting rid of some rubbish. Obviously I count my DH’s efforts - we are a team after all 🤣 DH had the last of the hm soup & crusty bread for his lunch.Having written this, I felt guilty so: bedding stripped, DH & I rotated mattress, then I opened new brushed cotton bedding (bought several months ago) & remade bed replacing summer duvet for winter duvet 🙂 Old bedding in wm. With my decluttering head on & trying to find something for DSis (which I didn’t find) I went through 3 box files & a small crate. Found all sorts of useful/forgotten/misplaced items which have been allocated to their proper homes & managed to empty 2 box files - one is in cs bag.4. Garage detritus
5 & 6. Cardboard boxes broken up & recycled
7. Cardboard packaging recycled
8. Handful of paper, cards recycled
9. Handful of plastic, metal etc tat binned
10. Flip top box file - CS bag
11 - 28 Eleven mini aftershaves/perfumes, 3 sewing kits, 3 shower caps, mini make up remover kit - homeless shelter bag
Good work villagelife 👏 Currently lots of ideas on the thread about what to declutter - so you may be inspired 😉 Reminds me I must take down my Christmas cards 🙂Good work balabooberlies 👏 unfortunately not premium bonds ☹️ Have to wait until 5th to find out if I’ve won the £1 million 🤞
Great work Viking_mfw 👏 continuing your conversation “You - Would you mind digging a coffin sized, 7’ deep hole. DH - Why? You - 🤔🤔”
Wow KatyLovesCats you have been busy 👏 You have MK’d your clothes - well done 👏
Decluttering Apps - no wonder you feel lighter 🙂 Good luck selling all your vintage clothes 🤞
Well done Black_Saturn 👏 Who knew the 2nd of January was ‘sort clothing day’ 😉
Nannywindow that is quite a lot out 👏 I really miss the wagging finger emoji 😉Well done ClaireT13 👏 Do you get more done when the children are in bed?😉Cooking a roast dinner always takes so long lynnsey30 ☹️ but well done for having a general tidy 👏 - stops new clutter getting a foothold 😉
Great work charlies_tribe 👏 The box being recycled does count as decluttering as you haven’t kept it for Ron 😉 Another one who knew about the ‘sort clothing day’ 😉Love the before & after photos Nicnak 👏 not quite clothing but close 😉 So much more space with rolling 🙂
Well done boultdj 👏 and thank you for your amusing tale of ‘the cat & the flour’ 🙂 a cat staying still whilst being dusted down - unheard of 😉
Good work leelad 👏 not really slim pickings 😉 What an excellent ☃️ (pictures allowed 🙂) - very fashionable 👏
Welcome aboard jenni_fer 👋 It is long - but glad you found us 🙂 Your target is noted & what a cracking start 👏 You are determined to be in a position to move with no clutter 😉
A well thought out plan - cheaper to move & less boxes to unpack in your new home 👏🙂 Even a new declutterer knew it was ‘sort clothing day’ 😉 Hopefully now the vaccines are being rolled out the charity shops & selling sites will be available in the not to distant future 🤞

Evening all
Well a good day here today. The whole floor is clear in my bedroom now and the decluttering numbers are going up too:
2-20. out of date medicines disposed of safely
21. broken lamp
22. magazine
23. wallet
24-25. 2 broken charging cables
26. 1 large black bag of rubbish
27. new cutlery organiser advertised and picked up today
28. one pair of trainers sent to ebay recipient
Tomorrow I am going to start decluttering the draws in my bedroom. I've decided to go through everything in my room before moving on and then ensure I stay on top of it before moving on to the next room.
I have also done 2 WM loads and folded and put away. Kitchen also rescued after dinner and DW loaded.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, my children are 12 and 13 and tend to be up later than me! However, I do find when I'm doing house work, they tend to stay out of my way in case they get asked to help!
Well done to everyone today, we are making good progress!Declutter challenge - 81/1500 (5.4%)

I wanted to metntion to all declutterers intending to send Christmas decs to the charity shop. If you want to give decs and trees to the CS it is best that you hang on to them until October. I put them in a separate labelled bag/box and put them in the loft with a reminder in my diary. Sounds organised but I saw that they threw perfectly good decs a few years ago as they had nowhere to store them. Not everyone can do this obviously but it is something to think about.

Put bottle of iron tablets from holland and barretts on OLio app. Took christmas tree down, went through decoration to check if they were keepers, none for the bin or the charity shop this year. Mind you we went through them all last year, so wasn't expecting many. Tree in the back garden waiting to be chopped up and either used for firewood or put under the blueberry bushes at the allotment. Christmas cards sorted, tags made for next year. Repurposed some lights as DD2 got a mirror for christmas so put the light round it to make it lighter.

Two and a half bags for the charity shop and one of shoes (all DH’s, he has so many !!!) to go the fabric recycling bin at the supermarket. They are in the boot of my car as we haven't got an CS’s open. I’ll get to the recycling bin some time this week but I’m counting them as technically they’ve left the house !Stay safe everyone xxx2025 Decluttering Campaign Mrs SD –The joy of decluttering 45.5/104⭐️

Hi, I cheated a little as started counting from 27th Dec, but felt if I didn't get going then inertia would win again (like in 2020 and 2019)
1-3 Jigsaw puzzles passed on
4 Book (set aside for cs)
5 Plastic bag
6-12 glass jars /bottles
13-14 pumpkins cut up and out for birds (yes, they really had been sitting since Halloween. Not cut into so were still perfect inside)
15-16 newspapers
17-18 toothpaste tubes
19-27 9 bags of newspapers (collected for animal rescue)
28-32 bottle, bag of recycling, 3 bags of rubbish (I won't count individual day-to-day items recycled or binned, but our bins are at the end of a steep slippy path so it can feel a bit of an achievement just getting them out, so I'm going to count it for now)
33-36 400 e-mails deleted (counting 1 per 100. I had over 1700 unread before starting the clear-out, and goodness knows how many read-but-still-hanging-around. )
37 some paperwork
38-40 3 bags rubbish and recycling
41 a broken glass
42-43 jars
44-45 200 e-mails deleted
46-48 3 boxes, broken down for recycling
49 Advent calendar packaging
50 Broken ornament
51 Xmas ornament to cs when open
Xmas tree down and decorations put away, but just realised that the cards are still to come down - task for tomorrow
Take care everyone x
