Morning all, the sun is shining again !!Yesterday I decluttered lots of food as the family was here for lunch and hardly any food made it into the waste food caddy. We took the opportunity to toast all the birthday's, Easter and the Christmas that we missed last year and a good time was had by all. Going to do it all again on Friday as it's my birthday and we're having a family party, so more food will disappear especially with the DGC here 😂In the cardboard recycling 2 delivery boxes and a pair of joggers into the cs bag, bought brand new last year just before lockdown and the wrong size 😠MrsSD enjoy Cornwall.Take care all. Hugs to anyone in need.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Morning Mrs SD.
I don’t like to miss a drop of daylight and, left to my own devices, I wake as the Sun comes up anyway. It pays to be up early – I’ve got a couple of magpies who think that my peas and beans is their breakfast buffet.
everything is watered for the day and the garden looks as good as I can make it look! Once the tree and shed are taken down and the fence replaced, it’s going to look really different. More light, considerably more growing space 😀This is the week where it all comes together and I’ll be able to map out the next month or so.
Old lady cat has perked up a little bit but she has only eaten two Lickey licks in the last few days. I added some water to the last one as I haven’t seen her drink for a while. If she finds a spot where she is comfortable, I just tiptoe around her. Or sit next to her. She’s not suffering.Onwards and upwards – I’ve got at least three dozen things to list on local selling pages. That will keep me busy while I wait for the landlord
have a productive day everyone😃9 -

Hiya, Happy Birthday Leelad and nannywindow.xx
Everyone seems to be ticking along quite nicely here which is just great, though some people haven't been on for a bit, I hope they are just too busy to post.
My cats bring mice in too. Mr V was rescuing one at 4am a couple of weeks ago from behind the bookcase. Female cat still goes to sniff where it was every time she comes in the house.
I had a very constructive day yesterday whilst Mr V was at work. He described it as the end of the world. The area was completely overwhelmed and in gridlock.
My son made a surprise visit. It was just so lovely to spend time with him, a bonus that it was just us two. We bounce off each other and really enjoy each others company. We took 2 car loads of garden stuff to the cottage and left them in the back yard. We also met the very nice NDN. We all met up at DD1's for a vegan BBQ later. Like everyone is saying, how life affirming to spend time with loved ones. We took her a garden arch and a storage box whilst we were going!
Today DS and I will take some boxes of carboot stuff to my Mum's. It seems to be all coming together, sort of.
I have been asked to do more hours at work. Mr V has also been asked to do more hours. We are very short staffed. Anyone fancy a job as a tour guide?
Have a lovely break in Cornwall Mrs SD,what glorious weather to be on a motorbike.

Evening - as some may have already seen my DM passed ten days ago so now the decluttering has turned to serious clearing out. I'm so pleased that the food stores are all done, just the rest of the kitchen to go!It seems like DM kept every piece of paper which she ever touched so that's been the first task. It's almost at an end and I've decided to use a commercial shredding company to get rid of the unwanted stuff. There's so much family paperwork going back to letters written between her and her mother and friends from 1938 for a few years. And then every letter her mother wrote to her from 1961 to her death in 1967...and so on. These will be sent to my cousin in Berlin for him to deal with. He should read the family history as it includes him. So many interesting documents have come to light which is rather distracting.DM's clothes are mostly gone. Tights seem to have multiplied in the bedroom, at least ten unopened boxes of five, about 20 opened but unworn tights and, right at the back of the drawer, a little plastic bag with two pairs in and labelled neatly 'old tights'. I had to laugh. It'll be a long haul but once the personal stuff has been gone through and various bits and pieces donated to BHF and SA etc I'll get in a house clearance company and then a professional cleaning company to ready the place for the market. This was never my home and I have no attachment to it. My memories are of my DM and they are sealed tight in my heart.13

My landlord gave his contractor one hour and a handsaw to take my 35 foot ashtray down and dispose of it. Like that was going to happen🤦♀️
Mike took the bottom of the trunk with him which was the weight limit on the van. Apparently I’m left to deal with the rest now 😞8 -
@Gers I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like you & your cousin will have lots to read & talk about with your DM's paper archive.
