moneyonmymind: Sorry to hear that you are still not loving new job but glad that you are managing to put a positive spin on work - are you still keeping an eye out for something you might prefer?
LoverofLycra: Good Luck with your digital decluttering - I was thinking of closing my FB account too but I seem to have managed to get to a point where I just visit it occasionally to see how a few people I know are doing, so at the moment I will keep it but if I start habitually scrolling again I might have to rethink. Sounds like you are using it well.
My current nemesis is MNet - I hadn't used it for years then revisited when my son was leaving for Uni - helped to know others were going through the same thing- but that was months ago now & I'm still spending too much time on it & quite often the conversations wind me up! I even closed my account but of course I can still go on and read the forums arghhhhh!!!
Have a good weekend all x

@TC77. I have a string mop and I let it dry upside down outside as otherwise the under stairs cupboard smells musty. Maybe that could be an option for you?I have sold a duvet cover set, but work has been crazy this week, so nothing else out and not much cleaning done either, but caught up on the washing yesterday11

@D123456789 thanks I hadn't thought of drying outside, can see it working in the summer, but north facing garden but will try. I think I'm keeping the string one for pet area, and may try a fabric string type (must be a proper name).

TC77 depends how big the areas and your limitations. But I use an Eco mop, the heads are used in boiling water it says doesn’t need detergent, but I usually use zoflora. Wring it out stick it to the stick which has Velcro on. As the water is boiling and I squeeze out hard it dries the floor quick, and when I finish I wash out and peg on line. Or pop on radiator in bad weather. Though mine is currently on line in pouring rain cos I don’t always bring it in🙈Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.14

@TC77 I have a spray mop from either B&M or Home Bargains, it has a removable washable microfiber mop head, and a spray with the trigger in the handle. I bought some more covers online & keep them in a cloth bag then just chuck them in the washer when they are all grubby:

I've bit the bullet & taken 95% of my non-selling stuff off ebay, packed it into 5 bags & booked them into the local Banardo's donation centre on Monday. There is also a box of assorted bric-a-brac which can go to the local blind charity chazzer in the same trip.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

We went through all the garden boxes and then I went around a few rooms in the house and looked again. We have lots more stuff to take to the dump. Where does it all come from?! I want my husband to look through his stuff when he gets up.
I am going to go through my paper books and donate the ones I don't want. I will also look through my clothes again and take a bag (or two) next week.
I am doing bedding and laundry today. It's nice weather for ducks so I will be using my tumble dryer.I need to clean the bathroom too.

Good morning, I have reverted to a string mop which I use squeezed almost dry,I dry it upside down in the sentry box outside the back door. I also have a micro fibre changeable head thingy that I have used once. Hmm ripe for rehoming.
It is all go at Vulpix Towers. Currently waiting for collection of my much loved dresser and table and 9 chairs and a damaged one. I still need to empty the dresser. The cupboards at the bottom have all my baking and dinner party type things in. I will miss the dresser. Not a Welsh dresser type but think old school cupboards with sliding glass doors at the top. Decluttering the kitchen is the hardest for me. I have always prided myself on being a good cook and hostess. I feel very sad that my lovely soirées will be curtailed. No room at the next house for large gatherings. As Mr V says we shall have to have garden parties at the cottage.
Yesterday I split and potted up some plants from the back garden ready to take with me. Very MSE. Plenty more to do but need a bit better weather.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉
Friday was a gloriously sunny bright day until about 5 p.m. - still chilly in the shade. J was on his own (worked very hard - several double courses of wall built) as both R & W were rehearsing. DH did a bit more pottering in the garden. DSis went out to pick up missing prescription meds. Ended up being out for over 2 hours having decided to go into local town. Came back exhausted & laden & still missing one of her heart meds ☹️ DSis had bought me flowers - red & white carnations 🙂 a lovely surprise. She had also picked up an M?S lasagne & garlic bread which we had for dinner 😋 but also stuff for freezer 🙄 So on the one hand I was happy at receiving flowers but on the other hand I was upset that DSis has ignored the fact that I have been making a ‘big show’ of emptying freezers 😠 I am drawing a veil over my day 😉
What a difference a day makes, Saturday is damp, overcast & chilly 🥶
934 - 937 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper, plastic bottle - recycled
938 Kitchen detritus - binned
Thank you mothernerd - I slept very well for about 6 hours 🙂
Oh dear TC77 my decluttering lethargy appears to have rubbed off on you 😉 - sorry about that 😞 However this is just a blip & if we both concentrate we will regain our decluttering mojo 🤞😉🙂
Lovely to see you retiredinfrance 👋 you have been busy 👏 Well done on persevering with opening your new bank account 🏅
Good work mehefin 👏 & I will keep everything crossed that you & DS can declutter his partner 🤞😉
Sorry you are suffering vulpix ☹️ Congratulations on reaching decisions about your furniture 👏 Now we all need to send our ‘buying vibes’ your way so that people start seeing your items & putting their hands in their pockets 🙂 Kitchenalia is always difficult to declutter as usually it holds so many memories + it is practically impossible to replace if you regret disposing of it 😔 Perhaps the smaller items could be decorative/ornamental pieces & be put on display in your cottage? Gentle restoration sounds just up your street vulpix 🙂
You have been a busy bee Wednesday2000 👏 & very pleased that your DH is on board 🙂
Emm-in-a-pickle, I beg to differ, you have done a lot 👏 Your stir frys & curries sound a lot like our hm soups - never the same but always useful to use up bits & bobs.
Virtual hugs gratefully accepted nannywindow 🙂 can hardly wait for ‘permission’ to give & receive real hugs 🤗 Great decluttering 👏 - ‘van alcove’ must look lovely now 🙂
😖 GrannyKate - BG & now the plumber letting you down 😖 I would be spitting feathers but you seem to be quite laid back 😉 Well done on the decluttering but keep a few coffee bits for our eventual release from lockdown & return to normality 🤞
newlywed, Well done on your freezer decluttering 👏 & wishing you every success in decluttering wobbly bits 😉
Good work Gem-gem 👏
