I decluttered one of my inboxes yesterday – over 3000 emails dealt with. Although my brain is a bit fried today, I had the added bonus of finding £45 worth of vouchers ready to cash out on various survey sites that I’d forgotten about. I’m putting the money towards new stream cleaner. Mine is a big old monster - I hope to sell it on local FB pages.I’ve just been informed that I have a landlords inspection on Wednesday so I need to get rid of piles of stuff.11

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉😉)Thursday was a sunny bright day but still with the chilly wind. I investigated our 2nd singing labourer aka W - he is a bass baritone. Also discovered that our builder’s girlfriend is a mezzo soprano. Told you I was nosy 🧐😉 We had 3 workers in the morning but R was at Glyndebourne in the afternoon. DH went to sm for usual weekly shop & posted our votes. With all the reporting of sleaze it was a difficult task picking who to vote for. My problem is that I want them to explain how they are going to fund all their ‘promises’ 😔
I made a soup - more stuff out of freezer 👏
Dinner was bacon, eggs, oven chips & baked beans for DSis & me. DH had fishfingers, egg, oven chips & peas. Wudupa. Stayed up long enough to pay the milkman.
Friday dawned bright & sunny but is now overcast. Just the 2 workers today - builder aka J with W. They are cracking on 👏 DH has gone out for the day - Round Britain Rallying as next week the forecast is for rain, rain & more rain 😱☹️My back is still giving me the odd twinge so I will be lazy over the weekend & then get cracking from Monday but in half hour bursts 😉
881 - 892 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 0.5” paperwork, 2 plastic pots/boxes with lids, paper packaging, 6 newspapers (shredded for the wormeries) - recycled
893 Kitchen detritus - binnedWell done moneyonmymindsam 👏 setting out your stall before you are put in the position of resenting the demands made by your new employers 🙂 The problem with working from home is that you don’t have access to a stationery cupboard ☹️😉 A bit jealous that you can please yourself about food without having to cater to anyone else 😉 Excellent cheerleading Sam 👏 I love it - gaining a day because you forgot it was a Bank Holiday 😂
It is so nice to see you StickyTheStickInsect 👋 and now that you have updated your bags out count I can see that I owe you 2 more Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ 🙂Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 My two holders are grey speckled ones which are currently in the garden awaiting a vigorous scrub 😉 I really like the idea of brain decluttering 😃 You are motoring along GrannyKate 👏 excellent decluttering 👏
I don’t know how you keep it all straight in your mind vulpix 😉👏 Made by brain ache just reading your post 🙂 Boo 😒 to time wasters 😒 Good luck with the car boots 🤞Bearing in mind how quickly April has disappeared it isn’t too long to wait 🤞Yippee vulpix - more £££ in the savings pot & more clutter going 👏 🥳
Happy Anniversary for Monday D123456789 🥳 (in case I forget 😔) Good work on the decluttering 👏 - you & your DH make a good team 🙂Now, now bit_by_bit (wagging finger emoji) Lots of work done & more importantly holidays to look forward to 🙂😃
Excellent work EnergyShifter 👏 I a very impressed that practically all your CS donations are out of the house 👏 deserves a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 🙂TC77, Surprising how much we can get done when broadband is playing up 😉 not very conducive to wfh though ☹️ Well done on the decluttering 👏
Lovely to see you ScarletRibbons 👋 You have been busy 👏 and it looks like you have reached the happy stage of Maintenance Decluttering 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 Now that you have done it, we now know that it is possible to get to the Maintenance Decluttering stage - it is just that it might take some of us longer to reach that stage 😉😉Excellent ‘email decluttering’ 3secondmemory 👏👏 no wonder your brain is fried 😱 Good luck with the landlord’s inspection 🤞 I have every faith in you 🙂 - you will pass with flying colours 🙂Whilst I have been writing this post DH has phoned (playing avoid the rain 😉) & builders have had their lunch 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 893/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. @Mrs_Salad_Dodger your dinner sounded delicious!!
Today as been a bit of a disaster. Went to work met some nice people. Still meeting friend so that's tomorrow.
Lost bank card - now found.
Only managed a round of washing as I cleaned and decluttered the kitchen. It was a big job - well more than I anticipated.
I have just cleaned and sorted the spare room, hall doesn't need anything as is empty. I will aim to do the lounge tonight and draw a line there.
I still have bathroom plus airing cupboard and the main bedroom to do between tomorrow and Sunday. Plus one will be back Sunday and I won't get anything done with him and the boys underfoot 😂.
No real news was paid some of my wage so did a mini financial shuffle. Feels good to get things paid off.
Will have to set up a proper and new budget now I know what my new income is.
Boiler and gas fire service today so decluttered money there.
I have £15.14p burning a hole in my pocket 🤣 but I am sure I can pick up some cards or stamps or something useful. My friend might want to go to wilkinsons so I will pencil a list in case we go.
It's odd bits I need like drain unblocker and nail varnish remover.
Unless I get a spurt of energy later I shall give up on the decluttering and cleaning for today.

3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉😉)The rain fell but J & W had cracked on with the wall - 10 courses of bricks left to do then they will move onto the last section of wall 👏 Rain stopped play earlier than usual but DH did get home in time to have a chat with J. DH had about 30 minutes of rain all day but was frozen by the time he got home. Bowl of hm soup each - delicious 😋 Dinner was pork steaks, mash, peas & purple sprouting broccoli. The only thing I did today was hard boil 6 eggs before they went off - they were 3 days past their BBE date. Wudupa.

I did a batch cook yesterday. Just portioned it out and put in freezer. There is no room in freezer for anything else now…..
Bought some bargains in JL yesterday, Clothes for LO, a gorgeous seahorse swimsuit which she didn’t need as I just got her one last week in monzoon, but couldn’t resistant it was on clearance and very cute. She needed new shoes too - there was not a lot of choice in her size - but another job ticked off the list. She seems to like them and most importantly they fit her.
I have decluttered a lot of her clothes lately but I am sure there’s more to go.Kitchen floor needs mopping. Now Ive said it on here, I best get to it! My reward will be a day out today I hope. DH will have to drive as he’s having a lie in and I’ve been up since 530 withLO!
hope everyone has a lovely weekend11 -
Good morning MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well I am glad to see the back of April. Been a tough month as I suspected, but didn't plan on my daughter breaking her leg! She has made good progress since coming home from hospital on Monday. She is moving a lot more around the house, just one dose of paracetamol being taken by her in the morning. 1st appointment with fracture clinic this coming week to check on the break and how it's progressing and she was thinking about a return to school later this week or possibly the following week? Found out yesterday that work have rewarded me financially for last year let's say, so it feels nice to be valued and appreciated. So May should hopefully be better than April, and can look to declutter some more seeds and try and get a couple of things sold. Need to contact council to see if they will pick up a bulky shower screen. Cheers 🙂12

A few more bits and pieces. Instead of bringing in boxes from cabin to sort I go out and get a handful of papers and photos out of a box and bring indoors - bite sized handfuls are not as daunting as a whole box. I hope to see my daughter in 4 weeks time for a few days so hoping she will look at a couple of boxes of MIL's things with me. My inclination is to throw them away but would like to consult her. I am also gradually looking at what to do with things I have decided to keep for the time being at least. It is quite emotionally stressful deconstructing someone's life.
835-837 Albums of photos x 3 emptied, a few selected to keep, the rest recycled and empty albums either binned or in CS bag if useable
838 - More photos on line sorted and some deleted
839-848 Used up various bottles in shower this morning then went through cupboard again - several things which were my mums and she's been gone almost 8 years so past using. Pots etc to recycling.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
