The rest is for the CS but will have to wait.
I am happy as I have the two appointments for my vaccine. Such a relief.
Otherwise life goes on in the very slow lane.
Hugs for all you wonderful people , especially those of you with difficult times, and hope you, Mrs SD are mending nicely. And Leelad 's daughter. I love hearing how involved she is.
On a MSE note I am removing the elastic from the pants - only put it in a short time ago and I can re-use it.13 -
Hi All, and welcome Dumpling.
Sam you are such a busy bee. Yes there's nowt as queer as folk as they say.
leelad hope your daughter feels better soon.
The best laid plans and all that... Woke at 4:30 with an Athsma attack (hay fever, trees not grass). Couldn't sleep, woke Mr V up thrashing about so we went to a car boot sale. Bought a new candle for £1 and a new pair of earrings, nice to be out in the sunshine.
Felt a bit rough all day so all I have done is shorten one of my new tops and knit a baby cardigan. DD1 came to wash her car. Gave her a vintage watch, yay.
Will update tomorrow. Vx:12 -
Been missing again yet another bereavement that's 5 in 7 weeks.
So difficult to get things done by email and phone as we live on the border and not allowed to cross except for one visit to chapel of rest and then another for funeral.
I joined this thread when MIL moved to sheltered accommodation and we had to de clutter contents of house into 1 bed flat however it made it so much easier to clear.
360 emails cluttered and unsubscribed
361-362 green buckets filled after garden tidy up
363-386 newspapers recycled
389-393 birthday cards posted
394-395 gift and gift bag delivered

425 handbag to bin
426-427 couple of hours on line renewing policies for half the price of renewal quote
428 couple of hours spent dealing with MIL final bills and estate

Welcome @dumpling
Hope you feel better soon @vulpix. Even resting you are doing something.
I had a 'rest day' today. Generally this means no digging or long walks. What it actually meant was me and DH moving big bits of furniture so he could thread leads and cables under the floorboards in preparation for the plasterering a few weeks. Also in preparation a 6 shelf bookshelf and its contents went upstairs into a recess on the landing.
When DH opened up the floor board by the bay window he had a bit of a surprise. Last year we had a 'few ' wasps coming in and out of the air vent below the window. Only noticable on the outside and not much of a problem. They vacated for winter and left a HUGE nest. An amazing and beautiful thing . It was 3ft x 12 inches by 18inches.
Being the person who removes all things nature wise I started breaking it up to get it out. Had an attack of the shakes (fear). Had a cup of tea and duly removed it. I have kept a few pieces to show people the rest was broken up and spread between my two compost bins.
Once that was decluttered, the wiring job was completed and boards and carpet down. We have halved a two seater recliner that sits under the bay window and it looks a lot better. I can see the two seater being rehomed in the near future and replaced.
Also today I potted on a lot of seedlings and bulbs I dug up from the garden last year. I know what most of them are now so some will be given away/sold and some planted out again.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. ONCE A WEEK LEAVE THE HOUSE (e.g. Go into city centre for bank & butcher; go to local town for cs dropping off or buying; visit the pub with DH 😉😉)Sunday was another gloriously sunny day but there was a strong, chilly wind most of the day. I have been very good - lasted all day without doing anything 🙂 apart from a teeny bit of paperwork. DH did a small top up shop, then he & DSis moved the rest of the bricks into the car park about 50 bricks. DH was then busy in the garden - used the hedge trimmer to tidy up the hedge, filled the bird & squirrel feeders & water bowls. Plus sorted out one of the wormeries - unblocked the tap & emptied 2 trays of worm cast into the compost bin. DH & DSis had the 2nd half of their Chinese Takeaways for dinner & I reheated the lo cheesy pasta with grated mozzarella & slices of tomato. I know my back is getting better because I managed to do the wudupa without having to lean on the sink & with no twinges 🥳 However, I think I might just make sure by not doing anything on Monday 😉We definitely have mice in the garden 👏 They run up the olive tree, sit in the peanut butter jar & stuff their faces, then get halfway down the tree & leap onto the flower bed 😂
848 - 858 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, 2 booklets, drinks cans, 6 plastic takeaway boxes & lids - Recycled

Oh dear TC77 ☹️ the very last thing you need 😖 but well done you for sorting it out 👏 Great work on the decluttering 👏You have been exceedingly busy mothernerd 👏 Well done for getting so much done 👏 DS2 sounds like he gave you & is still giving you cause for concern 😱 but he is obviously made of stern stuff 😉 Your other 2 boys know their brother well 😉😉Good work newlywed 👏Sorry, didn’t realise the time so I am off to bed 😱Will resume cheerleading when I get upMrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 859/20212021 Savings Pot: £41.00 to end of MarchBe Kind. Marpu,I am sorry to hear of all your loss. xxx
Yes Mrs SD,more rest prescribed for a few more days ,just to be on the safe side!
Bit-by-bit you got a lot done for a "rest" day".
I think everyone is making hay whilst the sun shines. Being able to get outside is a great tonic.
The house buyers came on Saturday, very nice young couple. They bought the house because of the kitchen ,the down stairs loo and the garden. All the things that I have added to the house. Those things have also added 80K in the last 5 years. Very pleasing to know that I have added not detracted from the value. I am a bit of a property nerd. Just love to buy a house ,knock walls down and move on.
Already I am planning the garden and the kitchen and bathroom remodel at the cottage. It is in a conservation area so I doubt we would ever get permission to extend it, but the layout inside can be improved by moving the bathroom. Big job but I think it would be worth it as then the house would have 2 reasonable size bedrooms instead of a big room and a tiny room.
Today is a garden day. New people are not gardeners so some splitting and digging up and potting up of plants on the cards.
I am quite enjoying having a cooking holiday. Mr V off his grub and I prefer picky food. Easy on washing up too.
200. 2 new but uncomfortable bras
201. Vintage watch to DD1

Sorry about your losses Marpau. I lost MIL to Covid in December and even the small estate she left has been difficult to sort out with all the restrictions. Not to mention her stuff.
I got up full of energy and sorted bathroom cupboards again - they look empty but everything in there will be used by myself or visitors. With DIL's help yesterday, I have managed to cross lots off of 3 month cleaning grid and some DIY jobs.
Tried to do some banking and site was only partly working so gave up on that.
798 - Nice, but too big, wash bag to CS. I bought one for MIL when she went in hospital so I will use that.
799 - Tat and oddments from bathroom binned
800 - Box of OOD throat pastilles binned - I hated taste of them anyway
801-803 - Boxes of pills disposed of
804-805 - Unused toiletries of MILs to neighbour who collects for food bank
806-807 - Thermometers binned - I have one of those modern forehead ones. (I also have some mercury ones somewhere but think they are antiques)
808-817 - Random small bottles of opened toiletries which I am never going to use and probably well OOD
818-819 - Magazines recycled or re-homed
820 - Emails, folders and photographs deleted2025 Decluttering Campaign 665/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
