Another thing gone sold online. Only £15 but the jar is looking healthy. Aiming for 30 items out any which way in Feb and carrying on with the selling things to pay for the groceries so net spend is as near zero as possible. I ended up with enough at Xmas to pay for everyone's dinner and some left over for gifts so I'm quite proud of myself. It gets harder decluttering as the stuff diminishes and I'm finding myself questioning more now, should this go or not. Usually it's a yes.Magnolia Stellata12

I've had quite a productive week, managed to book a drop off appoitment for next saturday at a local charity shop, so went through some random things with renewed vigour. I've also messaged a local 2nd hand bookshop that buys books and pays a fair price (not maye as much as selling individually via flea bay etc but they'll be gone and frees up a fair bit of space)
I watched the minimialists on netflix and it helped me look at some of our things with fresh eyes, did anyone else find this?
I'll proudly accept my medal too Mrs SD with a virtual curtsey
Not yet counted up the total of items to go soon yet, will do that at the end of today.
Very happily lost 4lb this week, must be all the running up and down the stairs.14 -
hopefuldebtfree - Yes I found the same thing when I watched the Minimalists - it also got me back in touch with my "why" for decluttering which was motivating
Kat360 - Sorry to hear about your eldest dog
Mrs SD - I will try to remember to mention lockdown anniversary date on here - (although I guess the media is likely to mention it!)
Looking forward to a day's pottering ! Met with my support bubble yesterday and it's given my mood the boost I needed .. I'm pretty good with my own company but it's got a bit too much lately.

Morning, loads on today
and a bit of a rant to start (sorry)
So a neighbour has moved out and all 7 of the communal bins are full and overflowing, it's quite devastating to see everything that could/should be recycled just in the bins. The recycling bins being only a few meters away as well. Mood is low as now looks live we like in a s'hole area. Anyway shall get on to the council tomorrow as there's electricals, mattress, furniture and all sorts.
All Windows and sills wiped and dehumidifier doing its job. All the boys are parked in front of the TV so gives me time to do what I need to do today.

I took those empty folders to tip along with:
- Box of paper
- 7 pairs of shoes for recycling
- Bag of coat hangers (why do we keep so many?)
- Bag of mixed textiles
- Broken doll's pushchair
- Storage box with no lid
Like many on the board I am quite self resilient but after a year I do struggle with the boredom and lack of contact. Doing lots of zoom and making new contacts but looking forward to getting out in garden.

I am now feeling virtuous because I only have 4 x 5l tubs of fence paint.
(we will ignore that I have a minuscule garden and the fence only gets painted every 5-10 years).
No decluttering today - took the dog for a lovely long walk instead and piled the car with neighbour’s stuff for the tip as their car is off the road. Queue for the tip was far too long so have up for another day.GrannyKate, I’m with you on the whole lock down thing. I was coping ok till the last announcement when Boris extended it again. Now I really just don’t want to play anymore. There doesn’t really seem anything to look forwards to at the moment. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.12 -
Hello Money
years ago neighbour died and husband put in home. Children did the same with rubbish. One was a black bag full of pots and pans. OH decided to take it to work as they had a skip. As he brought the bag in the bottom fell out so we had their unwanted kitchen stuff in the hall. I was good and rebagged everything except 2 watches. One had an inscription. I still can't believe that something so personal was thrown away. I still have them but many times when I have been broke have considered selling them. Just cannot bring myself to do it.
Is that my hoarders mind. Am I too sentimental.
