2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

30 items yesterday (only small so won't make an immediate difference). Used threads from my 'use up' box (making Florentine embroidered hearts, still trying to use lavender from the last harvest at my old home) and then yesterday evening I rationalised a lot of what was left. Odds and ends (typically one 1 m length of embroidery thread) grouped by colour ie 3 or 4 short lengths on one card. More outlines and more 'filling in' done today (wanted to do colour matching whilst there was still good daylight). Hoping that by the end of the week two drawers of threads (over 100 in each) will have been condensed down to one and a lot of the awkward colours will have gone too (using very dark navy, grey and brown instead of black and will use very pale colours instead of white.
Found that the bagged piece of aida is 14 count (14 holes to 1 inch so 392 small stitches for each square inch of fabric) rather than the 20/ 22 count of the large pieces that were in the box (20 count is 800 tiny stitches per square inch) so I can make a start on another new project. I want to make enough mini embroidered mittens for an advent calendar. Have found some beautiful designs with subtle muted colours (a bit like Shaker colours so coffee, straw, slate blue and rich plums and greens) and again it's a project that's ideal for using up small quantities of thread (in the awkward colours).
Current total is 299/ 2021 and will count up thread used today later on. Paper bagged up for recycling as have filled the bin.
Washing dried on line, small food delivery and made roast dinner, chicken in black bean sauce for mum, chicken and broccoli in oyster sauce for me and have beef in chilli and garlic sauce (+ ginger) marinating in the fridge. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)At least Sunday is dry although cold, dark & dreary. Well it was when I started writing 😱 it is now raining again.Last night there was a bit of a blow up between DH & DSis so DSis is sulking in her room & grunting replies when she surfaces to make herself coffee ☹️ DH is usually so easy going but 2 years 8 months of my DSis’s mercurial temperament finally got to him 😭 He usually goes out on his motorbike when she is getting on his nerves but it was very late 😔
The unfortunate thing is that DSis can sulk for Europe 😖 😞
Enough of that - Earnest has made an appearance today. Two loads of washing done, 2nd load in td. First load has been folded & put away. Have dusted & polished the wooden furniture in the lr. Made double portion of oaty crumble mix, cooked an apple & rhubarb crumble, bagged, labelled 😉 & frozen a portion of crumble mix for Ron 🙂. Have also watched & cleared down several programmes from TV planner + read a magazine.Dinner is going to be salmon fillets, boiled baby potatoes, peas & sweetcorn - DSis pulled a face 😖
267 Sunday knickers - binnedSorry you are not feeling well today, mothernerd ☹️ You have still been rather busy - prepping for a large number to count tomorrow 😉👏 Wow mothernerd 🤩 you have been busy & the projects sound beautiful ☺️
Great work villagelife 👏

What an excellent week you have had hopefuldebtfree 👏 CS, potential sales & a brilliant 4lb weight loss 🥳 Thank you for the virtual curtsy - I feel like a Queen 😄Thanks EnergyShifter 👏 After several attempts I finally managed to get the date into my calendar 🥳 What a lovely boost to your mood 🙂 & enjoy your day of pottering 🙂
You have good reason to rant moneyonmymindsam 😖 It beggars belief how awful some people can be - inconsiderate, selfish & downright ignorant 👿Great work GrannyKate 👏 DH & I are also looking forward to spending time in the garden 🙂Great work TC77 👏
Shame about the Tip queue elsien 😞 but at least it is neighbour’s stuff 😉 I have been avoiding the news so didn’t know about the Lockdown extension 😭😭😤 The whole handling of the pandemic has been an unmitigated disaster with no direction, confusing messages & lies at every turn from our government 😤😤😤😤 Rant over.
What a very sad story balabooberlies ☹️ Not a hoarder nor too sentimental, I class it as respectful & I think you should be very proud of yourself 🥲MrsSD 🏅 ⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 267/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Thanks Mrs S.D............finally put my mind at rest.
I only knew them for a short time but always used to compliment the lady on her garden. Her secret is that she used to just sew seeds, throwing them willy-nilly and leaving nature to do the rest. For a few years after I had lots of foxgloves growing on the shared fence. I always used to thank her.

My foxgloves, welsh poppies and lily of the valley are courtesy of my grandmother who is no longer with us. The poppies and foxgloves are slowly colonising the neighbours gardens and I’ve also passed a load on via freegle.Makes me smile every time I see them moving a bit further afield; Grandma would have been well chuffed, as she always said she had black thumbs and could kill off most things without trying,All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.12 -
I love flowers especially wild flowers, but can't say I am amazing at growing them. I get a seed pack every year and just put it in a pot and hope for the best for the bees and wildlife. Sometimes they come up, but other times I am not so lucky.
My favourites are lillies and roses. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x11 -
@balabooberlies
Maybe one day we shall see you on the antiques roadshow with those items 😂
One of the neighbour son has taken most of the big stuff to tip - good lad.
It's still bad and full but no mattress or electrical so no longer an eyesore.

Almost two weeks later and the tonsillitis is finally decluttered. Hubby was really worried as temperature was over 39.5 for 4 days, but I refused to go to A&E as was drinking and managing with paracetamol and ibuprofen.
I made a start on the drawers in our bedroom, whilst hubby started on the loft.
I only managed the one drawer, which has toiletries, makeup, hair stuff in it, but like with my wardrobe earlier this month I can now see what I have with regards the lot. Only 7 bottles of perfume, I thought I had 3, but only 2 of them open so think I am covered for 2021 and possibly 2022 :-)
16 Unused make up and toiletries bagged up and taken to the Women's Refuge
17 Very old mascara to the bin
18 Empty medicine boxes to recycling
19 Sunday pants to bin
20 Sunday socks to bin
21 Magazines stored in loft to recycling, 30 of them
22 Empty boxes from loft to recycling
23 Leftover wallpaper to neighbours children for drawing on
24 Cushion to tip
25 Leftover carpet underlay to tip
26 2 hand gels passed to a nurse friend
27 Leftover carpet to tip
28 Old towels taken to animal sanctuary
29 Dead lightbulbs to bin
30 Empty shampoo, conditioner, shower gel bottles to recycling
31 Broken helicopter from loft to bin
Also cleared the washing pile and the ironing pile, went for a long walk in the woods with the hubby and dog, then came home to Toad in the Hole which was delicious.
Now sat with a G&T watching Endeavour from earlier in the week.
Have a good week all, I will catch up properly over the next few days
