Well done on the food growing even if it didn't all go to plan - that's gardening. I'm planning to start veg gardening again.

  • Local gov pay settlement has come through and it’s backdated to April which is a nice pick me up. It’s not inflation level but it’s a good compromise.

I’m planning on paying back T the money I owe him for Xmas, booking a holiday for mums 60th and making a large food bank donation. I’d normally chuck something at savings or mortgage but this feels like the right path at this time.

    Spends so far this month:
    £21 friend fundraiser
    £15 charity donation
£24 event ticket with T tomorrow
£20 comedy club tickets with sisters
99p jeans 😁 after Vinted sale
    £7 uni cafe
£15 choc brownies for sad sister
£13 borrow my doggy forgotten subscription
    £2.75 hot choc
£46 comedy club food and booze
£10 paint a pot with youth group

so around £175 spends which is more than budgeted for. All nice things and I’m trying to prioritise time with people but I’m going to try to get back in budget for December, even if I just match it as it’s always a busy month!

Always nice to have a lump sum. The comedy club part seems particularly appealing. Well done on thinking of others too.

  • The comedy club was ok, it was good to spend time with my sisters and do something different, but I don’t feel the need to go again!
Thursday T and I went to see a cyclist talking about her adventures, that was much more up my street.
Had a no spend weekend so far. Spent time with my stepmum on Friday and then nephews birthday yesterday. We cycled home and Youngests bike broke which is going to cost today but it t is what it is!
Got some jobs to do today so hopefully avoid spending anything!

  • Bike was very easy! There’s a repair shop on the corner of our street and was literally 3 minutes with the right tool.

We had a good Sunday, built another log shed and tidied in the garden. We went to the garden centre and bought some bulbs and made a wreath. Then oldest and I went on a Pokémon adventure, I’m so cool 😎

last night went out with the ladies from my trip, good to see them but I was anxious for no good reason.
    Spends-
    Wreath & bulbs £23
    dinner £36

I’m currently working my way through a vat of parsnip soup with parsnips from our garden, I’m really pleased with myself for growing something tasty. None left for Christmas though!

    Glad the bike got sorted.

I'm enjoying frozen parsnips currently. Need to look into growing my own. Well done for growing your veg. What else do you grow?

  • Oh you sound so busy, well done! Makes sense to prioritise the doors and windows, they will help so much with heating costs etc and it is good to look after our homes. Oh so close to 100k!!!

Seaside was lovely and not too much strain on finances- I spent £34.10 on chipshop and breakfast.

Ordered my secret Santa present. Still need to sort T and mum and boys stockings. I also want to book the caravan for mums 60th next year but one thing at a time!
