Morning wannabes, I’ve been rubbish at checking in recently!Recent spends have mostly been food!
£6 pub
£31 day out with sissys + £10 youngest sister for fuel
£30 dinner
£26 pub dinner
I’ve been not very well this week with Covid but at least it’s cured the pub spends! Silver linings 😂
We’re off camping on Sunday for 8 days + 2 nights travelling by ferry. I’m going to resist eating out until then…
T has made some progress on the en suite now it’s a bit cooler and he’s been trapped at home. Going to get on this with earnest after holidays. We’re still mulling windows and extension. The builder quoted about £5k more than the lightweight conservatory roofs and that would actually meet current building regs whereas our conservatory plans don’t. That has swayed us quite heavily in the direction of extending on current footprint rather then re roofing. We need to dig a hole to check out footings.Other money saving news- we’ve got a glut of courgettes and plums. I’m sharing the bounty with the neighbours and packing the freezer. T made courgette cake which was a winner. Utility bill has arrived with a strange refund on it for gas. Theyve estimated our reading as less than previous reading so I need to go under the stairs and see what’s what.Last day at work today! Have a good weekend wannabes xMFW 2021 #76 £5,145

Hope the covid shifts quicklyWe’ve decided to go ahead with new windows and front door. Total cost is £5400. We have just over £1k in the house pot and have said we’ll pay £1000 out of savings each which leaves £2400 to find. My plan is reduce the OP money for 5 months. It’s hard diverting from the MF course but we’ve already made a great inroad to it (almost 10k OPd since we moved in!) and we’ve always said we want to improve the house alongside paying for it.Current balance is£103,181 so would need to OP approx £1,380 before end of the year to be below 100k, that still feels doable- just a bit slower than originally planned.MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

OPd £110 + the £100 I falsely declared last month. Moved £500 into windows pot.Holiday was brilliant 🤩 Northern Ireland is a gorgeous place and we spent so much time just in the little harbour being amazed at how nice it was. We were quite outdoorsy as well, went rock scrambling near giants causeway and sea kayaking which was breathtaking. I didn’t take my waterproof camera though so no action shots!! We also saw Ts cousin and went to the Lammas Fair which was incredibly busy but had a lovely vibe. Also went to the Titanic museum in Belfast which was well worth the £s. I want to go back!
Money wise, we expected to spend more than previous holidays as had a few city days and ate out when we were getting the ferry. Kayaking and titanic were big ticket items. We decided to go to the giants causeway but not the visitors centre or the carrick -a-rede bridge as the prices seemed a bit steep. We did well at taking sarnies and cooking at camp, we did have “The Worlds Nicest But Most Expensive Fish and Chips” one night which was a mse fail. Tasty though 🤤. Overall on budget 👍MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

Not a lot to report money wise, been back from hols for 2 weeks and managed to mostly rein in spending. Although totted up and spent
£41.60 eating out (1xpub dinner, 1xbreakfast with work colleagues, 1xcuppa)
£8 parking 😱 at cycling place. I don’t normally drive to cycle but really enjoyed this day out.Personal spends and joint account looking healthy for the next week until payday. Might be able to sneak some into window savings or mortgage OP, but which one? 💸We’ve got the boys this weekend. Plan is to go to a woodland show tomorrow and I promised to take oldest and his tweeny friends Pokémon hunting, wish me luck 😆. Today I’m off work but getting in with some volunteer stuff that is stacking up again.Have a good weekend folks xMFW 2021 #76 £5,145
