We had an exciting weekend away in the Peak District for my birthday this weekend. Only an hour from us but felt like a different world after so long at home. Managed to only spend £200 for all four of us - accommodation, one paid for activity and one meal out. Such a beautiful place, my legs hurt though! Also managed some wedding planning and finally made a decision on numbers and food, hurrah! 25 days to go and lots more to sort- some admin and need to sort out readings and music. Going to go sort things out in 3,2,1... 😂MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

Money is looking good this month so made an OP of £250 from joint account. There’s a standing order for £250 OP that comes out in a few days as well.I need to ask T what is happening with utility warehouse as the bills are all over the place. Really low this month but I suspect not everything has switched from the old provider for the full month. Must not forget that we’ll have another bill from the old provider as well.MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

Glad it was a lovely break and MSE too it seems! 😇
Is utility warehouse one of those that automatically switches you onto the best deal?
Great achievement on the OP as well.

Grogged- I don’t think they swap anymore but everything is lumped in together. It always seemed a good price but we weren’t paying enough and ended up with a big bill when we moved. Will see how we get on!MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

Previous energy bill came in at £147 for six weeks- I’d budgeted £100 a month so happy (ish) with that.
Other spends: £25 bits and bobs from boots, £10 leaving present for someone at work, £10 chippy tea- cheap date night! Cheap weekend planned as E’s school bubble has burst, he’d only been back 3 days after isolating with his mum. We were planning to stay home anyway as have had some busy weekends lately and still have unpacking to do.Wedding is in 2 weeks! We have stayed small so definitely coming in under budget. Got a few things left to sort, we need to supplement the flowers we’ve grown and get some gifts for people who’ve helped us.Have a good weekend wannabes xMFW 2021 #76 £5,145

A quick money round up... I think the heat and wedding has meant all self control has left the building. I’ve ended up with £400 on the credit card which I can clear when I’m paid on Friday but means it is next months spends gone. Offending items were cycling stuff for honeymoon, a big body shop order and lots of alcohol at my hen do! Which people gave me cash for ... that I spent on food 🤦 I’m not worrying too much, one night out in 2 years isn’t going to bankrupt us but I’m going to try and suck it up next month rather than taking money out of savings or putting things on credit card.Wedding money is much better! We are under budget so some will go for soft drinks behind the bar - it seems harsh that we have to have an alcohol package for all the adults but non drinkers have to pay their own way. The rest can go towards our honeymoon rather than drawing down the holiday savings. A nice consequence of frantically saving for a post “freedom day” wedding but deciding to stick with the more sensible reduced numbers. I still won’t believe it’s happening until the day. We’ve had both boys at 2 out of 3 bridesmaids self isolating recently which is a bit scary. Wish us luck with that and dodging the incoming thunder storms 😆MFW 2021 #76 £5,145
