Mademoiselle said:Narco, I so wished you were near me as I would happily send my DD2 to collect mistletoe for you (she climbs at national level so a tree isn't an issue). It reminds me of many years ago filling my SIL car with mistletoe as it is abundunt here and she had seen small bunches at 5 pounds a bunch and had very competive friends at the timeRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10

Evening, all.
Last week of term went out with a sad, flumping noise as we had to close early at zero notice due to multiple positive tests. It was still the best part of a week too late. Got lots of work done that I never normally have the time for - until another bunch of results meant the entire site had to be shut to everybody. Wish I'd booked the Friday hair, nails, eyebrows and pedicure treatment instead of the Monday one, though. Thankfully, I've been told to stay off work emails, as I was half expecting a 'You don't mind administering tests when you get back, do you?' email. Maybe that'll be the night before we go back instead.
Himself then found that he'd been put on the rota to work, so he's huffing and puffing about being tired. He's done two days, one of which I was still wfh, but you'd think he'd been expected to singlehandedly ward off Viking raiders armed only with a bent cocktail stick from the way he's going on about it.
On the brighter side, I have two expeditions planned for after Christmas. Day one is to deliver the Council's Christmas Present to all staff - a Covid test kit - to the central collection point, and the other is to the big hospital for six monthly bloods and a lovely big shot of steroids, as whilst most of my joints are trying to behave themselves, I'm still struggling with pain in one foot and my skin is gradually being taken over by Psoriasis plaques. Oh, and he's working tomorrow. So at least there will be some peace.
Might clean the upstairs bathroom in the morning. It'll save the rage clean of the kitchen until afternoon that way.

Morning xx
I've been awake for ages so I decided to get up for a brew. My bed is made.
Today is present wrapping day. I'll wrap in drop off / pick up order but the goal is to have everything wrapped by tonight. I'll wrap in batches- I love wrapping but my back doesn't! And I'll have Alexa alongside playing me seasonal music 🎅
I've looked at the tv guide and decided that the programme planners must have known that I was home alone ... Christmas Eve with Elvis and then more Elvis on Christmas Day. Sorted.
Hugs to all who are having to amend their Christmas plans. Hugs to all who are struggling under the load that life has given them to carry this year. Hugs to every single one of you for being my friend and giving unconditional love and support through all the ups and downs of this and previous years - but especially this year ❤
But I think Mademoiselle may get me sectioned as I remember to SMILE at random moments - like when I'm waiting at red traffic lights or walking down the corridor at work. Grinning like a Cheshire cat as I type 😁
Another brew and breakfast next.

Morning all. Hope you're all ok. Hugs where needed.
Round, I do my wrapping on the ironing board to save my back.
just waiting for dye to do it's magic on my hair and then I'll get some flying done.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Good morning all
More hugs all round.Present wrapping is on the list here too. Considering it was only ever going to be the 3 of us this year, and not able to visit the few family and friends that we usually would, I seem to be dragging it out a bit. I also need to vacuum clean downstairs. DD decorated the trees last night, so there are bits everywhere. She has put her presents to us under the tree - she works 6 hours a week on the u18 minimum wage, and for some reason seeing these presents that she has bought has really touched me.
I suppose if we all smile randomly and enough, we could get taken away to the same place for Special Flyladies...just a thought 🤣7 -
I like that thought Fayolle 😁 xx
I'm dressed and the presents for tomorrow morning's pick up are wrapped, plus made a start on the presents for tomorrow afternoon's drop off. I had to come down for the beer so I'm having a coffee break.

Oh, for Heaven's sake.
He's supposed to be in work all day today. But they've sent him home due to lack of work with no guarantee there will be anything on Wednesday, either.
Having already reorganised the crockery cupboard (AGAIN) because I feel slightly uneasy when I open it to find big plates teetering on top of small bowls of random sizes - which I don't get because there is literally the perfect amount of space to stack big bowls with other big bowls, small plates with small plates, etc, etc - I can hear him 'putting things away'. Which means either digging a new patio or doing it again later today.
I'm going to go and scrub the toilet.

Good morning! 😁
We have made a rough meal plan & a shopping list. DH & I have taken the dog for a walk in the sunshine, and picked up 2 2nd hand chairs that match our ones from someone nearby (I have been on the lookout for another one for several years as one of ours is broken). They have been sprayed & left in the summerhouse to quarantine! They need a good clean & recovering at some point.
Next on the list is shopping 😭 This is NOT going to be fun!! Mr Als today, then Mr S tomorrow I think - can't face them both in one day!!
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day everyone 😊7 -
I've finished wrapping presents for tomorrow afternoon's drop off, and wrapped presents for Tuesday's drop off, Tuesday's pick up and Wednesday to take to H at work.
Just 3 for Christmas Eve drop off (Dad and Barbara) and 8 for Boxing Day (DS and GF) left to wrap. It's quite pleasant wrapping whilst listening to Jim Reeves singing Christmas songs- funny how I can still remember the words after all this time! Not heard a lot of the songs since I was a child.
I've fed the birds and put out the recycling. Lunch now.
