This is absolutely revolting and I cannot believe that the Tesco staff actually did this, whilst a security guard stood by and essentially did nothing (along with lots of others of course).

I would also suggest that you speak to the police and the local paper asap...if nothing else this will get them moving. As a customer you should be treated with respect...not accused, shouted at and assaulted.

    I've been Money Tipped!
How bizarre...you would never believe it, would you? Assualted by a duty manager (easily a charge of ABH looming there) , so must be pretty high up in the Tesco food chain to be in charge of an Extra store. He really should have known better.

Chardonnay, I'd ask for a huge amount of clubcard points in compensation Using their deals brochure, it would be an immediate 4 x the compensation they offer you. Get a fantastic holiday using the brochure... a real tropical idyll from the Tradewinds brochure or something...this could easily pay for your honeymoon if you and fiance intend on marrying soon.

Keep us updated as to how Tesco try to wriggle out of this one.

thanks for all the advice we are still going to lodge a complaint with police next time we go through.

Why are you waiting until the "next time (you) go through"? You need to get this reported as quickly as possible. You are already likely to be asked why you didn't report it straightaway and leave open to question your motives for doing so now. Your fiancee should also have sought medical attention for his hand so that there was evidence from that source which is far more likely to be accepted than just someone from another shop.

    Wow Amazing!

Does anyone know why these CS Battleaxes and manager battleaxes behave like this? Do they have black marks on their employment files if the store has to refund because of overpriced goods? I simply can't understand why they take it so personally! The company have these policies it is up to us the consumer to make them keep to their word and demand a refund, so what is their problem?

btw OP Chardonnay, I sent you PM.

Maybe they were supposed to make sure the labels were removed so ultimately the loss would be the responsibility of the manager for not making sure it was done.

    OP,

I agree with above, you should have gone to Police & hospital to get it into records, try your GP in the morning to look at the fingers.

You can bet the manager went to the display shelf removed all the stickers, and then whispered to the CS girl he had just done so.

No matter, we have plenty of evidence from MSE'rs who can provide written proof they have had the same mis price, and I'm sure some of the MSE'ers can give you photos of their packs with the stickers on.

Bit late now but you should have called the Police there and then. Not only assault but attempted criminal damage to your property i.e. the toys.

By the way did they refund you the money for the trucks?

mainly because i can't drive and just afterwards my fiance had a severe allergic reaction which made him really ill for days. he has only just started to feel better. to be honest it didn't occur to us to do it at the time as we were so shocked by what had went on. we have photos of his hand just after the attack.
