I agree this whole situation has dragged on, but msot of the time wasting is due to tesco's slow response and replys i imagine. This has probabaly dragged alot longer than the OP wanted aswell which is why most people give up and cant be bothered to pursue such things and let people and companys get away with acts like this. Im behind Chardonnay 100% on this!!0

I agree with corley and am 100% behind chardonnay etc."This site is addictive!"

cpu,
You frankly have no idea what you're talking about. As someone said, "sympathy at the start" isn't exactly grasping the significance of what has happened here...Shock and disbelief are more appropriate words.
Tesco and their incompetence (at best) are to blame for this dragging on over this period. They should have seen the seriousness of this event and acted immediately. If I was in Tesco's upper management I would have had this manager on suspension immediately, taken a complete statement from all involved, asked the customer to attend a medical unit for a assessment at our expense. Asked for copies of the photos from the OP, and cctv from the store. Then if I was satisfied I would given the OP 50 pounds in cash concerning the mispricing and offered 500 pounds as an out of court settlement for the assault. That's what I would have done.
Tescos has done very little and just dragged it's feet. It is now time for the OP after having waited more than a reasonable length of time for resolution, to give 14 days notice to ask them to suggest an appropriate resolution to the assault, after which time solicitors will be involved resulting in court action if neccessary, but costs involved will be significant, and I will be seeking the recovery of costs too. It is therefore in tesco's interests to start to hear the music, and come up with a serious offer of compensation, no less than 500 pounds imo.0 -
valiant23 wrote:So "you sympathised at the start" did you? Well bully for you. I was shocked at the start, and angry on chardonnays' behalf. I have seen in chardonnays post that her and her OH are not particularly demanding people, which is why they have taken their time to decide if they are up to it. Even I realised that.
I would say "no offence" but I'd be lying. By all means clutter this thread with an indignant reply, but it'll be a waste of time, as anything else I have to say on this matter will be done to SUPPORT chardonnay, her OH and Ben500.Wig wrote:cpu,

Do you guys realise you are acting like thought Police? Do you really think you have the right to belittle me for my thoughts?
I must have missed something when I joined this site. I didn't realise it was okay for you to be offensive but not okay for me post an opinion. Doh! I must have been following the wrong rules.
I merely posted my thoughts that a more forceful approach could/should have been taken at the time of the incident and immediately thereafter. I agree that Tesco were in the wrong and Chardonnay should do all she can to make them atone for their actions. I agree that Tesco should have done much more than they did and I agree that Tesco have dragged their feet, but Chardonnay herself has just said they had 'sort of given up', which suggests they'd let things drift for a while and now they were coming back to it to complain again. That sounded like it wasn't all Tesco's fault that this length of time had passed with little or no resolution. Again, I know it's Tesco's place to have sorted this out to the OP's satisfaction but we all know sometimes we have to make a fuss to be heard.
My post wasn't insulting or offensive, I wished Chardonnay luck and said her treatment was abysmal. I only offered an other side of the fence opinion about the time limit and you guys have jumped on me for it.
I'm sorry Chardonnay if I upset you. Your replies to the points in my post were very level and you didn't sound as if I had offended you?
As for you Wig and Valiant, I should thank you, as you reminded me why I don't visit this site very often. I'm not an abusive poster, I don't deserve to get talked down to in that way just because I said something that didn't fit exactly with your opinions. I'm sure you were both able to say you didn't agree with me in a friendly way but the fact you chose to answer in that manner says a lot about your characters.0 -

I think that some people were defending the slowness of chardonnay's response because they realised that there were health problems involved.
If I have misunderstood then I apologise in advance.
Good luck chardonnay.;)"This site is addictive!"

cpu,
Get a thicker skin, if you think that was abusive/offensive you need to get out more. Well done for defending your position, but waiting this long for an amicable resolution to appear is nothing to be ashamed of on the part of Chardonnay....it is time to start getting tough and by the sounds of it this is exactly what she's doing.
btw, you have a right to say what you want, I have a right to say I think you're wrong and I don't write in cotton wool.0 -

I'd be offended by the above if I were cpu.Wig wrote:btw, you have a right to say what you want, I have a right to say I think you're wrong and I don't write in cotton wool.
I agree we all have the right to say what we believe but surely that doesn't give you the right to say it in an offensive manner. If i offend you, do you think the above statement is a get out clause?
Now if this carries on I'll put you all on my special naughty step I keep reserved for these occasions.
I do believe Chardonnay seems a nice enough lass to not want to have started a fight between 3 people who appear to want to help. This isn't helping anyone. Chardonnay appears to have taken cpu's comments in the spirit they were meant in, why can't you?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
