chardonnay it seems as though they'll hope you just push off. I am cross on your behalf, but are you satisfied? If so then :grouphug: to you and your OH, but you know we'll support you as far as you want to take it-you have them over a barrel IMO, but the longer it gets before you get firm with them I think it will suit them.
Good luck

Just thought I should add my tuppence worth...
It is ABH that we are talking about as someone else has already mentioned (even a scratch that draws blood is ABH) - that manager faces a criminal charge which means he must be arrested & face court in the event that YOU wish to pursue the matter with the police providing you have proof of your injury (doctor visit as soon as feasibile is fine given witnesses of blood at scene) as it is based on the blood / bruising that this individual would face prison (harsh maybe but tis the law). This is why you never ever touch an employee anywhere and equally they should never ever touch you.
Tesco are very well aware of this and will not want anyone with a tendency to overreact to the extreme of ABH (or worse the next time) hence he will undoubtedly be dismissed as well else Tesco risk being aware of this person's behaviour and doing nothing - and can then be held equally responsible. The fact that they cannot discuss the matter with you should be treated as a very good sign as that means that in any legal dispute with their former employee they will be independent and not have had undue/private contact with you regarding THEIR ex-emplyee that could disrepute their reasons for his dismissal initially on full pay suspension until investigated & internal procedures are carried out - but a one-way ticket for this manager indeed.

I am wondering how Tesco would respond if they knew you posted here. I think that if they knew your story had almost 10,000 hits, they might be more willing to compensate. They are getting EXTREMELY bad publicity from their actions. I live in Glasgow and I can tell you I wont be going to that tesco-ever!

well we had sort of given up, but the other day i reread all the advice and decided to try to get tesco to do the right thing and offer some compensation. ben500 has very kindly agreed to help draft a letter to them. i intend to start it after the weekend and will let you know how we get on. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

With all due respect, your original post was dated the start of June. We are now mid September, do you not think your window of opportunity for complaint has passed?
Although I sympathised with you at the start, if you were to come to me with a complaint of this sort after this length of time lapse, I'd think you were less concerned with the rights and wrongs and more concerned with what you could get. I would immediately wonder why you'd let so much time go by.
Don't get me wrong, I personally don't for one minute actually think that of you. I agree the way you were treated was abysmal but you should have made an issue at the time and kept on until you received satisfaction.
Although you complained at the start, you've been very laid back imo and you've let it go too long.
Having said that, I wish you luck as I do think your treatment was wrong.0 -
i agree that time has elapsed but both myself and my partner don't keep well and to pursue this further, earlier on seemed like too much hassle and too much stress. to be honest i feel it is worth a go and hopefully tesco will respond properly this time. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

also to clarify it was only on the 11 aug that tesco finally issued us a refund. if anything they have dragged their feet over the whole affair - probably hoping we would go away quietly. married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090

I was glad to see you're still in action on the Tesco Misprices thread, Chardonnay!
Thanks for keeping us updated and good luck with pursuing this. I can't believe it's taken so long for them to come up with the "refund" :rolleyes:0 -

I'm sorry, I think this post os both misleading AND unhelpful. Anyone who has had legal dealings other than routine matters will know that 3/4 months is not too long a time to consider your options, seek out legal advice, decide who will represent you etc.
If anything I would think that Tesco will have to treat this matter more seriously as chardonnay has given them every opportunity to 'do the right thing'.
I have said in an earlier post that it will be a lond road that chardonnay and her partner has to travel. It will be. Had chardonnay gone all guns blazing do you think Tesco would've said, "Well you're a customer-customers are always right, so here have some cash"
Tesco will be expecting legal action in this case, and chardonnays' motives for legal action are absolutely none of the defendants concerns, so:
"Although I sympathised with you at the start, if you were to come to me with a complaint of this sort after this length of time lapse, I'd think you were less concerned with the rights and wrongs and more concerned with what you could get"
if Tesco think that then great, they wil know that chardonnay are not going away and are going to have to treat this matter with which it originally deserved. Which if you forget is exactly what Tesco have failed to do so far.
So "you sympathised at the start" did you? Well bully for you. I was shocked at the start, and angry on chardonnays' behalf. I have seen in chardonnays post that her and her OH are not particularly demanding people, which is why they have taken their time to decide if they are up to it. Even I realised that.
I would say "no offence" but I'd be lying. By all means clutter this thread with an indignant reply, but it'll be a waste of time, as anything else I have to say on this matter will be done to SUPPORT chardonnay, her OH and Ben500.
