Nmm.. sounds like the spindle had broken.. I’ve had it happen a few times.. it shreds the door seal so smells like burned rubber too usually. It’s a death certificate.. beyond economical repair unless you can do it yourself but it’s a big job.I’m always happy to post stuff Madam.. just shout! We post jelly babies and creme eggs to Sweden lol
Christmas cards posted, last big box of presents wrapped.. definitely got less this year I only used 2 rolls of tape!! That’s half the usual amount! Few more bits to arrive to finish my mother’s shopping but it’s a huge weight off getting all that done... now I can start getting ready for next year!!! Haha!! I have the girls planned already.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Hugs to Goodi and DD xx
Brownie points earned at work as I covered the whole county all day - busy but not manic and the time flew by. Then I was let out 10 minutes early for good behaviour for working so hard. Filthy dark, wet drive home from the paid stuff. WM swishing a load of DS and GF's laundry - their WM should be plumbed in tomorrow. Definitely hot chocolate weather. So I've had a hot chocolate and ordered a pizza in for my tea.
Hair appointment tomorrow at 1pm after which I am going over to DS's house to inspect the premises visit. If it's not persistently raining I will load my boot with sundry items belonging to DS: shoes and coats for starters. Another step towards reclaiming the kitchen floor woot woot.
Time to R & R this evening. Ready to roll up my sleeves tomorrow.
Much love to you all.

(((Hugs))) and healing vibes as appropriate to GI, your DD and her fiance.
I have done quite a lot of work today but (yet again) hardly any of it was proper flying. - just picked up a few papers and filed them away. This evening I need to finish off something I've started for church. I popped out to see a friend and take a photo; also asked her to film a short video for me, and - bless her - she and her husband did it within the hour, so that's one problem less for me to worry aboutRosie and I finally went out for our walk as the sun was setting. I must remember to get the Christmas tree and box of decorations out of the eaves loft before bedtime - no ladder required.
DGS4 (aged 5) is isolating for the second time as another of his classmates has Covid. DS2 was saying that he would be home until the end of term, but I'm hoping that he might get back for the final day or two under the new regulations which cut self-isolation to 10 days. DGS4 is highly extrovert and craves attention, whilst DS2 is an introvert who needs peace and quiet to get on with his work - not a good combination!
At the rate you're going, you will have your kitchen floor back by Christmas, round
Mademoiselle, I'm happy to post things to France too, but the Royal Mail is already floundering under the load of extra parcels from online shopping as well as Christmas and I somehow doubt that they would reach you this side of Christmas. However, you can make crumpets at home if you have some egg poaching rings , or miniature cake tins with loose bottoms, or even empty pineapple tins with the bottom removed as well as the top - just remember to oil them well6 -
Love to your family GI, keeping everything crossed for good news x
Work is just manic, lots of evening meetings, and it wont slow up until 22nd. I am interviewing one day next week for a new member of staff too, face to face interviews so I will have dig out some clothes that make me look presentable.
Round the one thing that took me by surprise when DS moved back was just how much stuff he seems to have, and how it seems to spread itself around the house so I am jealous. I am constantly returning coats and footwear back to his room.
Lots of laundry sorted today, kitchen and bathroom scrubbed, in between the paid stuff. Need to do an inventory of food stores tomorrow. Currently eating crisps, drinking gin from last Christmas, and warming my toes in front of the fire. Thank goodness its weekend.8 -
Thanks pigpen, we had a look inside the WM today and can't see anything broken or loose, but not worth repairing anyway so a new washer it is. We've been talking about moving recently, its like the house knows this so everything breaksCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:8

Filled bird feeder.
Cut some spinach and pulled carrots for dinner.
Had Zoom with brother who wanted advice on form filling as he's applying for EU citizenship.
Reviewed lists.
Washed up, one load through DW, put away.
Finalised Mr T order for c & c tomorrow.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning xx
WAC membership renewed. 🙄 Sigh.
I'm going to ring the garage when it opens - my car has developed the habit of whining instead of starting ( took 4 attempts to start after work yesterday- my heart was in my mouth) and it also whines when travelling. I've noticed this but with so much else going on recently it didn't really register that it's a problem. For some reason it pinged an alarm in my head around 4 o'clock this morning. Most annoying. But heyho.
Trip to DS's may have to be postponed. I can walk to the hairdressers. Don't think I'm going to get back to sleep now - if it was summer I'd have no problem getting up and on, but it's just so dark!!! I'll lay here a while and meditate/ pray.
Much love to you all.

Morning Round. Hugs to GI and anyone else who needs them.
I have had five hours uninterrupted sleep which is the most in months. Up early again as I chose a really early appointment for my flu jab. Will pop in a couple of shops while I'm in town but not planning a lot else today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -

My bed is made, WM is swishing towels/ tea towels and there's only my clothes in the laundry hamper woot woot. I'm having a brew- while the kettle boiled I rinsed the cans and bottles waiting to be recycled.
