Npower still doing meter check on the 21st ..I will ask them to check wiring etc , if need be and they do so , I will get a electrician to change the wiring ...
im looking at all options , but complex meter guy said one tariff might be the way to go ...
I’m so confused and a bit upset with it all .. it’s very overwhelming trying to get a straight answer  from them !

Don't take it personally, the older energy companies are institutionally incompetent. Keep at it and you will eventually get there.

Npower are on my "lifelong refuse to use" list after a year long battle over meter replacement readings.  I guess I now have to change that to Eon!

    Update

they are now saying if m6 meter is faulty which they think it is , they may be able to install 2 metres , one for General Electric and one to run for storage heaters on economy 7 or 10 ...

I won’t know until the 21st if this will be done ... I’m hoping it will as this will resolve my huge bills I’m getting

thanks again everyone for the help

Be very wary of having E10.  It might be a poisoned chalice that effectively locks you into npower (and then E.On Next), and the rates won't be competitive and will keep increasing.
You already have E7, and using that for everything might be a better bet.  Just make sure that the immersion and storage heaters are on circuits switched by the meter.  You can then escape to any cheap supplier you like. Before agreeing anything, find out the kWh rates and daily charges that would apply, and check whether you can go back if you don't like it.
In the meantime you may wish to check the hours of operation of your SuperTariff storage heater supply.  You could then run the storage heaters for 7 hours (by switching them off locally) to see whether they would cool down by the evening.  If they seem OK then that would suggest that running them on a switched E7 circuit and then changing to a cheaper supplier would be the best bet.  BTW, stop paying on Receipt Of Bill (ROB), that will be more expensive than DD.
However, I still don't understand why it's not possible to have a gas boiler even if it's outside.  That would be an infinitely better solution: it's utter madness to heat with electricity if you can use gas instead.  You're still ignoring that fundamental point.

I have had numerous gas fitters out to check the property for adding CH ..it can’t be done ...

tbe building regs prevent this ... no enough space would be available for a flue to have proper clearance

my nephew worked for Scottish power and he even looked  And measured and said same thing ...

my meter I have now ...is a super tariff meter that is over 25 years old .. the related meter  man I spoke to today  was really good today and said do not close my complaint until this issue is fully resolved and I’m happy , Including tariffs etc , he said it most definitely needs replaced ..wether they put in two meters  or one  just economy 7  for everything I won’t know until engineer comes out

I have a headache with it all ... I can’t concentrate at work ...be glad when it’s sorted

    thank you once again

Defo changing to DD when this is sorted as well
  • I wouldn't accept that as it's not likely to be compatible with the systems used by e.on next so you'll end up having to have the meters changed again.

I had a dual mpan, multi rate meter (Heatwise) and that was replaced a few years ago with a normal 2 rate meter and there was no change to how my heating worked.

I’ve got a 4 rate meter now thou as I’ve got night storage heaters
  • I moved from a 5 rate meter to a 2 rate meter and have storage heaters also. I'm not sure why this isn't being offered as an option to you.
