Winter fuel payment
Lboyne
I recently received the wrong letter from DWP about my winter fuel allowance, which in normal times would have been paid in by now. It took four days to get through to speak to someone and eventually was told that there had been errors in sending out wrong letters ie only one person in household receiving this benefit but being treated as though there are two. My husband has not received any letter only me. There has been no mention of this mistake in the news although it has affected many many people.

Can't it be paid in any time up to March?

Regardless if it’s usually paid by now, it’s not classed as been late until a specific date. This taken from the gov website:
Most payments are made automatically between November and December. If you get any other benefit, you’ll get your Winter Fuel Payment at the same time as your regular payments.
If the money is not paid into your account by 13 January 2021, contact the Winter Fuel Payment Centre.

Had the letter several weeks ago, correct bank details, but not reached my account yet. My letter says to contact them by December 23rd, maybe there is a delay in payments so they have pushed that date back to January. Not that I really need it but it usually gets to my bank account before I get the letter.

Same for my dad, never not had the payment before the letter. This is the first year it’s been this “late” for him but he’s not concerned since the 23rd hasn’t passed.spenderdave said:Had the letter several weeks ago, correct bank details, but not reached my account yet. I, too, had the letter weeks ago. Mine is pending payment tomorrow. (Last year I got in on 19th November).
That'll be three separate DWP credits to my account this week: Mon XB, Tue SP and Thu WFP.
They've never been lumped together for me into fewer payments ... but I'm only 67 so relatively new to all this
