These are rather dated, will need updating as can feel the draft through them, but yes I agree such a lovely homely feel we will replace like for like.

The flooring is engineered wooden floor. I was worried about possible warping of solid floor, or basic laminate being to fragile for our two dogs. We found a chunky oiled dark oak floor it looks great a compromise...I hope it works in real life as it does in my head 😊

Updated my overpayment signature, I love seeing how much interest is being knocked off even with the smallest payment.

Its a beautiful blue sky day today, weather says 11  but I'm starting to think our garden is a bit of a sun trap, its felt much warmer.

When we first moved i was worried about how much sun we would get, we appeared to only have half a garden full most of the winter.
Recently its been mostly full sun from first thing in the morning aside from a few tree shadows. The sun works its way round to the back of the garden disappearing around 6pm.
So on that basis we've put our table and chairs on the patio, great for breakfast and lunch. We still have a huge lawn so could move it down if we wanted to eat dinner out.
Our swing seat where we tend to relax in the evenings is at the back corner where we can enjoy the last of the sun.
Dh likes to lay in the sun although he barely tans, I tan more easily but can't tolerate extreme so like to have a shady spot. It seems we have found the ideal garden for us both!

We've had the first mow of the grass, rearranged some flower pots it looks great 😊

I purchased a sewing machine, just a basic one which was delivered this weekend.

I haven't used a machine since my teenage years, although I planned to start last year and had even asked for some basics last Christmas.
My first task was to sew up a tunic style sleevless blouse, its a few years old now and I love it but the button holes I expect have worn so the blouse pops open. That was a simple sewing up of the button line, which means I'll get lots more use out of a blouse I love.

I've got two dresses to sort on my list, one dress will change to a peplum style top, another I contemplating changing into a skirt. Both dresses I loved when I first got, but they never felt right so ended up remaining in my wardrobe with tags. Both over two years old so I'm thinking if they are a success great, if not its no loss I'll free up a couple of hangers!
I am excited to start these two little projects and think up some more save some pennies updating my wardrobe😊

Good luck with the sewing. I do the occasional project myself, but most of the time my sewing machine collects dust (or it would if not for the cover I made for it - one of my more successful projects!). Sadly I’ve never progressed to making clothes, maybe I will one day. The sewing bee starts soon so I’ll wait to be inspired.

😅 for some time now I had 2 safety pins running around the bust to spare my blushes. The remaining buttons high and low still kept popping though! I can only assume its the age of the blouse, its a loose style, not tight at all 🤔

All caught up. Congratulations on your wedding and new home. I’m exhausted reading how much you’ve been doing since you moved in.

Thank you MT, think we are reaching that stage ourselves. I have a week off next week and planning not to do too much at all!

Its been a week, I have to say the weeks are flying by now.

I thought I'd enjoy time out in the garden during my week off, but I seem to have injured my right elbow quite badly. It hurts to bend, extend, lift. No digging up roots this week.

I thought instead I'd repot plants into decorative pots, and see if I can find a few different flowering plants to add to my collection. Conscious that aside from lavender my bloomers are all spring favourites so will soon die off leaving me with bare pots. I'm imagining mixing up plant pots to have things flowering at different times not sure if that's remotely achievable so a little research to do.
