Weekend is nearly over, it's been productive and really just nice.

We fitted the front door Saturday, well DH & a colleague, I was on tea and cooked breakfast duty. One of the neighbours was out and we spent quite some time talking from a distance whilst I was clearing the front garden. Other neighbours stopped to speak briefly as they were in and out. First time we've really been able to have conversations since moving in, it felt nice.

Door looks great, I'm saving for the other doors, 2nd exit and back garden, DH will start saving for livingroom floor.

Daffodils I planted in the week (cheated with bulbs from a supermarket) opened up and gave our garden a great little burst of colour.
Foodwise I planted garlic, pepper and spinach. This week I plan to start the tomatoes indoors.

We got a keter box for garden pots, compost bags and small equipment it looks so much neater.

Our table & chairs patio set should be delivered tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it arriving. It's been quite a sunny week, warm at times so I've wanted to spend more time in the garden, just a morning tea or to relax after work, it's a real mood booster.

4th mortgage payment goes out tomorrow, 296 to go!!

Another weekend almost over, they go so fast.... Really wish at times we could afford to cut back to 4 day weeks. Maybe one day....when we are mortgage free!

Productive weekend, uni homework, little more planted in the garden, chest of drawers put together finishing our room. Just need to find a nice painting or some form of wall art, will wait for shops to reopen for that.

Garden table & chairs assembled, under cover but ready for milder weather.

Winding down now, looking forward to chicken stew for dinner smells divine.

Quick play with the overpayment calculator, £625 payment will reduce our mortgage term by one month. With that in mind I'm going to nudge our standing order up to cover that as a minimum.

At the very least that way, for the next few years whilst money is being pushed to house improvements and IVF, we can still be taking 1 month per year off the mortgage term.

Don't forget all the months your normal payments take off too - so that makes you 13 months per year 😀!
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!

The week flew by. It was a productive work week, made easier with no uni homework.  We have the next 2 uni days 'off' to focus on two assignments due, need to get in the right mindset to progress on these.

Yesterday we finished stripping the living room, I ordered curtains and poles. We had left up the previous owners curtains whilst we decided on a colour scheme. Hopefully get the painting done over the next week or two.

Spent some time in the garden earlier. A clump of bulbs i found in the garden turned out to be purple hyacinth, I potted them, they've opened up and are absolutely beautiful.  I have a pot of white hyacinth picked up at the supermarket that are starting to open too.

There's a plant at the back of the garden, an app tells me its 'winter rose', dark green leaves thats flowered all through winter. Investigating underneath I saw decent stems, thick enough to be small trunks so I trimmed the lower and overhanging branches to shape it like a tree. DH is intent on putting his shed in that corner as it gets the most shade, but I really want to keep that plant. At the minute it's tall so it would show over his shed....otherwise I'm thinking I might need to learn how to regrow it....need to think that through a little more.

DH is incharge of todays dinner, roast dinner yum!! 😋

    The weekend is here 🙌
Not that there's a lot planned. I need to do food shop. I'm hoping we will get by with a small top up shop as plan to walk rather than drive

Dh is working optional overtime today so hold on the painting as walls still need sanding and a touch of filler here and there.

He left me with a spade to start digging up the garden, there are a few old small tree roots where he plans to put his shed.
Gardening wise, my window still cherry tom seedlings didn't grow. So after work yesterday I started them in my temporary greenhouse along with peas and runner beans.

Garlic and spinach had started to sprout quickly, that was exciting to see.

I'm thinking of getting a raised bed for a neat area rather than growing from pots, but also don't want to rush so browsing Instagram I'm going to plan out my gardening area price it up and start my fund.

Two days in and already I want the week to end. Feeling completely drained.
Not helped by a 5 month ongoing complaint with telephone provider with issues starting after I moved despite having been with them for 10 years. Finally got through to a manager who resolved and saw sense to release us from the contract.
The 3 repeated conversations I had before getting through to him in 60 minutes was enough to push me to tears really set the tone of my day. Although no more tears I just felt flustered all day.

Ended ok when I saw I had passed my first uni assignment,  it was a pass or fail assignment so ungraded but no critical comments so was pleased to see at least one thing went right!

Two more due in the next few weeks, I'm half way through both - 2 modules due same time. Hoping to get at least one finished on my days off this week.

Tomorrow is my Friday....at least for this week 🤗🙌

Lots of progress with my days off and the weekend. One 10 page assignment in, second 8 page assignment written up, need to proof read and sort my reference list. Such a load off my back.
This weekend we managed to paint the livingroom, white then colour, final coat next weekend as we ran out of time, curtains are up at French door adding a nice touch of colour.
We've decided on flooring need to save some more.

Lovely roast dinner finished off a great weekend, here's to a great week.
