    £300 transferred to ivf fund
£50 to our birthday / christmas fund
£200 to housework's fund that brings us to £1000, the front door totals with panels is £1140 after we decided to match the trim to the door we should be able to place the order for the first front door and side panels end of the month if not beforehand!
DD's room has been painted she is delighted with her first ever painted room - as we have always been in rented we've always been neutral. That said she didn't go crazy, a pastel pink but still a colour that she was able to choose!

We plan to finish stripping our room tomorrow and sand I'm hoping we will get first coat down too - with a bit of luck should have finished painting by sunday so next weekend we can start on the hall and stairs.

Started my new 2021 diary (pen and paper style!) It has a goals section at the start for the year then a smaller goal section ahead of each month, it felt really good writing things down - and I'm sure I'll enjoy crossing things off as and when I can

    Happy new year

Second mortgage payment out 298 to go!
    £30 overpayment

Food shop came in under budget because we didn't need meat, laundry or toiletry items it was £46, but two items were not in stock so expecting a bill for £39, only issue being there as it pushes us under minimum order will a fee be retrospectively added...keeping an eye on the app. We opted for a different supermarket that we haven't collected from before. All in all process was smooth, a couple of mispicks but not bad enough to warrant complaining.

Back to work today and online school resumes tomorrow

Had a little unwelcome surprise today. Received a text from a bank advising my card had been used for a transaction and asking me to call or text if it wasn't me. It was such an odd message prompting me to go into online banking and be confronted by 2 large unknown transactions.

The bank have cancelled my card and passed it through to the fraud team to investigate and decide what they will refund.

I'm glad the bank realised quickly but it feels pretty crap not knowing how this happened. Just hoping I'll get the money refunded.

I buy from the same places all the time I just cannot figure out what happened :( it's got me quite nervous about shopping online not that there's much choice in a lockdown.

There are some really sh*tty people around

One payment has been cancelled the other two payments are frustratingly still pending. Just thank goodness my mortgage payment had already moved over. Still pants but trying to be thankfull it's not worse.

From our joint account £37 overpayment sent from left over shopping budget on top of the recent £30. I caught sight of a 1% overpayment challenge I was very tempted but £2861 will be too much of a stretch. So I thought perhaps I'll aim for a personal 0.5% this year see how we go. Might spur me on to have a target and it's very true any day to day savings wind up being spent on takeaways or treats that we can easily do without.

First day at university today, well distance learning until advised further.
Had the welcome news when we do go back the campus will be 45 minutes closer to home than the original campus. Journey will drop to a modest hour which was pleasing to hear.

The day has been adjusted to finish at 5.30 instead of 6 which again was an unexpected surprise.
Tutors seem lovely, cohort is a good mixture too, really looking forward to get to know them all.

I have my covid vaccination through work later this week, and it's been announced we will have lateral flow tests each visiting day.

Mse wise food shop looks set to be around £15 under budget so will hopefully be making an overpayment this week.

A little reassured by 2 negative tests this week. Not a pleasant test, dreading repeating it 2 or 3 times a week for the next however many months, but it does provide some peace of mind that it might prevent me spreading it to the vulnerable people I visit.

Shopping £22 under budget had under spent to start with, then a couple of substitutions and unavailable items.
Pet insurance for eldest dog is jumping this year, ran a comparison search not overly different prices elsewhere to justify a move but will check out a couple of others before renewal.

Car Insurance renewal next month let's hope not another increase!
