Hey bellevie, how's your elbow now?  Have you managed to rest it.  Hopefully it isn't spoiling your week off.

How did your research go on the flowering plants?  I have to admit I'm useless with plants, but I want to change that for the new house and garden.

I hope you're feeling better and were able to enjoy the garden, even if you weren't able to dig up roots.

    Hi MT,

Its been a busy week, Tuesday I ended up looking after a family members 2 children, she is a musician hadnt had much work under covid when the opportunity came she had no childcare so I offered. I realised my age by Wednesday I ached all over 😅!!
I took it easy today housework and tidy up of garden.

My idea is to break up my existing bundles of daffodils, hyacinth, and split them with whichever new plants I find so there's always one or two things flowering in each pot. I did start to read yesterday but my brain was not willing to take it in.

I thought perhaps I might have more luck going to a garden centre once a month reading labels and picking in person. It might be a little trial and error to start 😊

We had a busy weekend clearing out our garage after we managed to get a booking for the tip. It had our old front door, carpets and numerous boxes.

Spare room is set up for DHs dad, he will be staying with us a while until his house purchase goes through, it'll be strange having someone else here, I'm trying to think how to stretch the food shop to cover another grown man DH eats like 2 as it is 😅.

Dh had an accident at work yesterday went through his finger with one of the tools, the top part knuckle onwards was sliced through the bone so its hanging on by skin only. He was in A & E yesterday, going back today for further assessment.

Being his little finger he is thanking the stars he can still hold a drill regardless. I'll rest a little better when I know its on the way to healing he suffers badly from infections has ended up in hospital in the past so I do worry.

His pay is only ssp, our ivf fund should cover the difference for a couple of months if needed, it would only cover absolute essentials so housework would wait if course, not that he can do much bandaged up the way he is.

On the plus side, he will be able to have quality time with his dad next week which will be nice given how little we've seen him since covid.

Dd started her counselling she has been struggling with anxiety at school. She overworries about the slightest little thing and it built up to a worrying point just before Easter hols. I was surprised we got a slot so quickly. Relieved at how happy she seemed coming out, hope it makes a positive difference to her as school too.

Ouch your poor DH. My husband did something similar years ago- the drill bit snapped and the remaining half went into his index finger and bounced off the bone :dizzy: Fingers crossed he heals well.

He went back in today,  they decided the damage was too much so removed it from knuckle onwards. He is relieved its over and hoping for a quick recovery, they said removing everything means he should feel better within weeks rather than months. Fingers crossed 🤞

DH is improving day by day such a relief to see, his dressing should be removed this week, he's nervous about seeing his stump,  but with time he will come around. I have arnica and healing gel at the ready when it's safe to use them.

We popped to a garden centre today so I could pick up a weeding tool I've wanted for ages. It's literally a miracle taking at times 5 seconds to pull a weed!

I cheated and picked up ready started strawberries, everything else is from seed and is so painfully slow aside from the garlic!

Dhs dad is arriving tomorrow,  it'll be nice for him to have company the next week. He's unexpectedly bringing his two dogs the initial plan for his wife to take them fell through, they are lovely but can be vocal I really hope they settle in quickly.

Just like that the weekend is almost over, onwards to another week!!

    What a week its been.
Things have gone downhill rapidly with DD, we are going to school this week to try to plan a way forward.

Shes gotten mixed up in a very strange friendship which has become very worrying. The friend was having panic attacks in school, she leaned heavily on dd who then started presenting general anxiety signs herself. I arranged counselling,  she's had a couple of sessions so far.

We've since discovered the girls discuss suicide regularly the friend appears very unhappy in her life, and dd says she can't live without her. If the friend doesn't respond she goes into complete meltdown.

Since discovering this, we've taken her phone to prevent out of school contact and are going in next week when they can give us an appointment one  suggestion at the moment is moving dd into a different class in another house. I worry that she already hasn't been doing any work the past few months, how will she handle the stress of new teachers. But then I think I've contemplated a school move due to lack of support learning wise do I go full hog and move her school, how will I know she won't go towards the same sort of person. A new class may be worth a try, at least its the same environment where teachers know of possible issues.

I suspected dd often mirrors friends, she changes a lot depending who she's with. Given bubbles and the girl not living too far from us, dd had spent time with her inside and outside school. This is just scary though, and if it is to fit just how far she is she prepared to go to 😔

I expect she and we have a difficult few months ahead of us, if not more.

I'm going to start by being as busy as we can weekends to keep things positive and minimise the longing for said friend.

I've looked into drama classes, I've seen they can help confidence building, and I wonder if dd builds her confidence, will she be drawn to different people. If nothing else a different group of friends will help. There's a local class on Saturdays for 3 hours, I've requested a 2 week trial hopefully will get a place soon.

School will have to be back to basics, packing her bag together each night, going through whatever she hasnt managed in class after school. Maybe we need to consider getting private tutors in for a while too.

    So much to think about.
