Correct. He managed to stir up the usual heated debate about this. It is true that some people have done pretty badly in the last year and a half, and others haven’t suffered financially at all.motorguy said:

Whilst not everyone has suffered financially, pretty much everyone has suffered in some way. Lockdown has been tough on people.qwert_yuiop said:

Given that for anyone who is a taxpayer, it is their own money that they are spending (with a large percentage chopped off due to the inefficiency of government), I don’t see what is objectionable about spending your own money on yourself.motorguy said:

Still think it’s a stupid idea though, given it seems like it is going to cost about £50 a person to give out £100 a person. And seems like nothing has been learnt from RHI. “It’s a scheme to help small local businesses and we trust people to do just that so we won’t put any controls in place whatsoever.”Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j3 -

And the bulk of people likely wont use it to shop local and support local businesses (i think the supermarket chains will get a fair percentage of them), and even if they do is its unlikely to be money they wouldnt otherwise have spent anyway.

My card arrived this morning, easy to activate and get the pin.Strangely, it says expiry as 3/22? I know we have to use last date 30th November.I noticed in Belfast city centre this morning quite a few shops have notices in the window saying You Can Use The Card Here.Chatting with someone today, they said they had friends who were able to use it online
No idea how they did it?0
