And meanwhile lol at someone parroting such strong views after initially asking a question like 'How do you assess the creditworthiness of the borrower during ETH staking'!! The confidence is worth praising if anything...
Isn't it hilarious? It's like someone confidently asserting that there is no God when they don't even know the difference between transubstantiation and consubstantiation!

About as hilarious as smartasses jumping into a crypto discussion and shouting 'ponzi' instead of just not participating if it ain't what they like or if it ain't something they understand.

We think more than a year or two, you know?
Bitcoin is being propped up by people buying the dip, it raises the price and then people sell off to the next bag holder & it drops again.

Continue with that thinking. Will serve you well.

A crypto discussion on a forum called "MoneySavingExpert Savings & Investments". This ain't the echo chamber you're looking for.

And don't point to temporary 80% dips because no Bitcoin holder has lost over holding periods of two or three years or more. Few understand this.
Btw I am going to post again to this thread by end of this year about why you skeptics once again missed the boat from even this point onwards. Yeah - because BItcoin is gonna do another 5x from current price to around $300K. Am I naive ( or are Joe public clueless about Bitcoin)? We will see.

    Few understand indeed.

We are the chaps with near zero time preference so yeah while I ate crow on the above, it means just a minor bump. Will check back in another 2 years about both BTC and ETH. I also don't mean to gloat over the fact that the thread you linked has me also talking in July 2020 and its 2.5x since then. Like I said these are just bumps over the long term.

That's interesting. I do have a time preference - I would prefer to have a real return on my long-term capital by the time I want to stop working.
As opposed to "some indefinite future point where enough other people have pumped in exit liquidity and pushed the price high enough to make me want to press the Cash Out button".

The 2.5x profits of people who bought in July 2020 are funded by people like you who bought in at the top in 2021. Punters' money in == punters' money out. Few understand.

You have a solid coping strategy. Will serve you will given you will need a heavy dose of it.

I just wish people would stop talking about other rubbish that's not BTC... start your  own thread. Stop piggy backing on this thread with unrelated nonsense, please.

Get the popcorn. The cracks from raising interest rates to unsustainable levels have begun to appear.
