Won what, exactly? I'm not aware that this is any form of competition, it's just a question of whether to invest in an asset or not.

Oh. I don't think I'd agree with that, it just means that those of us who won't touch it are getting more vocal.

Kind of my point, the louder the better please, get the megaphones out and start organising protest marches and rallies, the more people that know about Bitcoin the better.Aegis said:Adyinvestment said:

You are on form today!Malthusian said:Zola. said:Haha he certainly is.. he's a bit more refreshing than the standard boring suited leader.. jury is out on him though no doubt..Oh yeah, compared to the lockdown party animal, the trout-wrestling black-belt KGB agent, the little fat dude with the nukes, and the confused gropey grandpa, El Brosidente is a breath of fresh air.A political leader trying to be taken seriously while wearing a baseball cap? What could go wrong?

Can't think why I'd do that, I'll just keep asking pointed questions.

Which is kind of funny in itself as I don't go in car forums repeating that I don't like/understand cars and would rather always get the tramAegis said:Adyinvestment said:

Surely the vast majority of people know about Bitcoin now? It's been around long enough so if they don't that doesn't say much for its adoption credentials.Adyinvestment said:

Pretty sure the argument is by no means 'won' either way, even if it goes back to 4K or lower it will be regarded as a 'buying opportunity' by the believers. The argument will be won if and when it becomes widely adopted - the trouble is it won't be lost until it hits zero (unlikely in the short to medium term) or categorically rejected (unlikely as there will always be believers).
And, if the current price is driven by panic buyers and those that have so much money they can afford to 'play' then it may not become widely adopted until it is not worth anything like what it is selling for now.2 -
Most people have heard about Bitcoin no doubt, but mostly only from snippets of hyperbolic nonsense that mainstream media peddle for clicks.. like it's going to boil the ocean, or use up all the worlds resources, etc.

Oh. I don't think I'd agree with that, it just means that those of us who won't touch it are getting more vocal.Well, this isn't a car forum, it's a money saving forum. Specifically, it's about savings and investments. If I constantly wanted to talk about badger wrestling in this forum, your analogy would be more appropriate, but instead I like to discuss the merits of investments and whether they are suitable for my portfolio or for others. Entirely on topic. If you want to stretch the analogy, I guess that my conduct here is akin to going into a thread on the car forum about, say, the Beta Juliet range of cars, and I ask whether it's true that they regularly catch fire. Instead of an actual answer, all I'd get would be statements like "ahh, but this car makes driving available to the masses" or "other cars sometimes catch fire" from people that not only own those cars but would benefit from others owning those cars. Even in that tortuous analogy, I doubt the owners of the car forum would mind me asking that question, as it's genuinely pertinent when making a decision as to whether to buy one.I am a Chartered Financial Planner
