NST DECEMBER Don't Be a Martyr for Christmas

Two food orders done, either side of midnight. One to arrive midweek, one on the 17 th. The second one I've left open with some spaces - nearer the time I can add things I need or what I have space for.
Did a load of washing. finished my book, watched the Lego Ninjago movie and worked on my penguins whilst watching strictly. Put one gold streamer across the top of the curtains and added a large snowflake - the heat from the radiator moves it gently so sometimes it's gold and sometimes it's purple. Want to clean the window tomorrow and then line up all the penguins and 3 reindeer across the bottom facing the street. Working on a list of random items to buy but had to stop because the laptop slowed down.
Today I am grateful for a relaxed day (needed because the shopping trips are exhausting), for all the food I made the other day being yummy (tried them all now), for nearly finished penguins (they need bobs on their hats but want them all lined up before I pour more glue). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage4 -
Mothernerd, thanks for the Mandy Hale quote about letting go of the past. That really resonated with me.NSD2 yesterday, but spent today as we went to an outdoor market early this morning and stocked up with cheese, bacon, butter, sausages and yogurt from a trusted local trader for far less than supermarket prices. Now need to do advanced level tetris to get some of it in the freezer! Also bought parsnips and sprouts to go with our roast chicken for dinner tonight, and some items from the boot sale / junk stalls to clean up and sell on through my small business. Lots of washing and polishing to keep me occupied for the rest of the day!4

Still on NSD No 4
Tesco order delivered and put away. A few substitutions but price matched to the tune of £11.06 so I can't really complain and that's before what I saved on special offers.
Soup made for lunch using bits and bobs from the fridge and freezer. Ditto a curry in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
Himself was just remarking how unchristmassy everything is looking. Normally around here there are lots of Christmas trees and decorated windows. Practically nothing at the moment. I wonder if people just can't be bothered. I hope not.
Lazy Sunday. Lots to do tomorrow.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Can't forget today's gratitude - Two delicious strawberry tarts given to us by a kind neighbour because they were on their sell by date and she couldn't use them. Himself is jumping up and down with delight.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7

Apple it’s constitution day today (and tomorrow holiday in lieu) & the Immaculate conception on Tuesday.
Yesterday was very relaxed. Pottered around the house listening to a podcast about coffee which was very interesting, then popped out to local art shop to find a watercolour set for bf, he said he’s been wanting to try it since we did a painting class last month. Shop had some beautiful watercolour sets which were quite pricey, managed to find a cheaper plasticky one but it will hopefully do the job, and if he takes to it maybe one day he will get a fancy one.
Then went to the royal palace which has a fancy botanical garden and woods. I had forgotten it existed so it was nice to rediscover it and sat reading my book in the sun until the sun went behind a cloud and it got too cold. Walked a decent amount. Collected some sticks for a crafting project. On my way home a shaggy dog ran up to me with a stick in its mouth, stopped and gave me and the sticks a very quizzical look which made me laugh.
So no NSD yesterday. and not today either as went to the local market (rastro, apple! ) and found some drawings of eagles to send to my mum for xmas. Was nice to potter around the old bookshops and antique shops, but far too many people in the main market so scuttled off when it got too busy.
Grateful for free podcasts, irish coffee and friendly dogs.

Today I am grateful for friends, for dd doing her hwk without any tears, for being on the home straight for the end of term, for rugby on amzn prime, for finding out that WSM will be happening this year, for personally not being fed up with the restrictions.Stay safe, turtles!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

A quick update from me. 3/20 NSDs. Another nearby Oli0 today - whole meal loaf, burger buns and some crumpets. All out of date yesterday but a day over can’t make much difference, can it?
Tonight’s dinner was bangers and mash courtesy of The Hairy Bikers. Lunch today cheese and oatcakes with MIL’s apple chilli jam.
Drank 1500ml of water. Brief walk with OH and DS although it is easier to get a ‘good’ walk on my own.
Grateful for a crisp sunny day, music streaming, my friend dropping off some of her home-baking.
