A time to leave old regrets behind
To get over the past, you first have to accept that the past is over. No matter how many times you revisit it, analyse it, regret it, or sweat it, it's over. It can hurt you no more.
Mandy Hale
If you walked away from a toxic, negative, abusive, one-sided, dead end, low vibrational relationship or friendship - you won.
In the end we only regret the chances we didn't take, the relationships we were too afraid to have and the decisions we waited too long to make.
My Solstice Wish
My solstice wish for you this year is this:
That your feet (and your heart) stay warm. Don't let the world make you cold.
That you know how strong you are and you stop doubting yourself
That you are able to feel at-home, safe and loved inside your own skin.
That you find your purpose in life and that you go for it with everything that you are. You were put here for a reason.
That you make time to enjoy the little things. Breathe them in
Surround yourself with good people, bright souls, that make you feel wanted and loved.
And know that you are worth loving for exactly who you areMy mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
Afternoon all, haven't checked in for a few days but things are ticking along. Although I have been spending! Got 99% of the Xmas shopping done yesterday, now just OH to buy for but he hasn't told me what he wants so at the moment he's getting nothing! Annoyingly I forgot a couple of bits in town yesterday so had to pop back this morning to get them, so no NSD today either. But that should be me done until next weekend.
Having a bit of a career crisis the last few days, my employer went bankrupt (local council) so things are extremely tough financially (they don't even want to pay me for a Saturday shift I had to do by law to cover court because they're questioning whether it was "essential") and there's a bit of an exodus going on, so I just know it's going to be really rubbish for a while. I did a course earlier this year with the idea of doing some self-employed work maybe 1 day a week, but Covid put paid to that. But last night I found a little refresher course for January so booked on to that and am feeling good again. Crisis over! I should just be grateful to have a decent job at all in the current climate.
Todays gratitude are having said job, and meeting a friend for a socially distanced walk.7 -

Not sure if a weekly grocery shop counts when it comes to NSDs? If not, then I’m on 3/20 NSDs or 2/20 if they do.
Anyway grocery delivery arrived today and I’d kept it under £50 to leave £10 for a top up. All based on planned meals for this week apart from bedtime nappies for DS. Can’t wait until he’s out of the completely - they are so expensive!
Tonight’s dinner is a homemade fakeaway: Chinese-style chicken curry. Blowing my own trumpet here but it’s better than a takeaway apart from the convenience of someone else making it.
Our weekly grocery budget is £80, and I was hoping to save £20 of it. But, OH’s eating habits over the last 9 months have been not so great. LOADS of bread, cheese, and readymade convenience rubbish. He’s trying to eat better so to help him out he’s using the other £20 to buy his own ingredients to make lunches ahead of the work week. He’s a very good cook, great with flavours, but when the work week starts he just doesn’t have time to make anything decent. Preparing his lunches on a Sunday has been working well for him in terms of eating a lot healthier so it’s worth the £20.
Talking of lunches, today I had 2 Snickers. Yup! A wee blip.
I’ve felt extremely tired today having been woken from a deep sleep by DS this morning. He was ready to go, go, go! But I feel like I haven’t managed to properly waken up today. Pushed myself to walk to the chemist to pick up my prescription (about a mile round trip) and listened to more of my audiobook. Drank 1000ml of water. 10 minutes out walking with DS to deliver Christmas cards to neighbours.
Grateful for friendly neighbours, knowing how to make a good fried rice, and my mum’s ‘tuck shop’ which I raided for Snickers today (I needed the sugar!)

I am still on NSD 0, but for 3 of those days it was a sub £2 spend on something 'Mr Nobody' used the last of and had not mentioned it, and I had not noticed until I needed it to cook and suddenly it was not in the pantry. The homemade Kim Chi seems to be doing its magic thing in glass jars in the pantry, and my drunken cakes are playing nicely together in there too. I found the recipe I want to use for my Xmas pudding today, but need an apple (fear not Apple! ) and a can of gu1ness. So they are on my shopping list and I will do the pud during the week instead, but as I was in the cooking mood, I have an enormously impressive pavlova and a tray of snowballs in the turned off oven (not) cooking. DH made hummus the other day and I kept the chickpea water and did magic with it.Tomorrow should be NSD1 I do not need to buy anything for what we plan to eat, and I am not really planning on leaving the house, and as long as it is dry, I can get my hammer and saw out and do some creating. I nearly caved and watched a Xmas film today, but got caught up cleaning, and so I did manage something productive, otherwise I would have planted my bum on the sofa and watched films all day. I know it will happen sooner or later, but I am going for later, when there are fewer things left on my list. Off to polish my halo before it slips and chokes me4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Saturday- NSD 3/15.
Working for part of the day, sorted animals out and played some games with DD. Today's to-do list has mostly been ignored and rolled over into tomorrow's list- will absolutely, definitely make a start on it tomorrow!

Oooh, Shrewbie - is it the San Isidro stuff? Sorry, I know I could ask Mr Google, really... Enjoy!f0xh0les - me and gu1nn3ss have to keep well apart cos it's a gluten-filled poison for me!Thought I'd not be spending today but was wrong! Grateful for finding 2x liddle cheap f+v boxes (tho' will check contents more closely next time as 20 big leeks is rather OTT...), for getting some fantastic ch shop finds (incl 'matching' lace-ups non-vans pumps for dd + me (
), plus BNWT shoes for dd), for getting plenty of walking done, for getting to the gym, for a crafterz00m with big sis + some others.

Bought ds2 new trainers today- he wears PE kit to school 3 days% week and they are meant to wear white trainers but they are getting filthy every week and now stained so he can wear black instead whilst c0vid rules apply - school colours are black and white, so they aren't crazy and I've seen other students wearing much brighter colours (I'm a stickler for totally correct uniform. normally)
Returned some lights to JLewis, sch trousers to MnS, too small tops for ds3 to next and some other stuff to Debnums
Thankful for dry weather when out, finding trainers for ds2, playing with my new robot vac, some free new to me Xmas tree decorations

Greent - I've used 6 in a leek + potato soup, chopped some up for freezing (only have 2.5 drawers in the freezer, so not much spare space), some got cooked ready to be munched with sausages/bacon tomorrow, and 6 just ended up in the fridge for now, as I couldn't do any more chopping!
