Are there fees on the new system for collection and payment on collection? As i have been reading this thread and someone mentioned it near the start but i can't find anything about it. I've not had any promo offers now for ages and i had 3 offers and 2 sales which are high value! Where's the promo listings when you want them. Typical.

Can you not just open another account if you go into a branch (If they have them) Or with another bank if they don't.

    I can, but I won't.
Once this mess is fixed I shall close my 18year, 100% feedback eBay account.
Bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face, I love eBay even though it can be a pita......

Yes the full charge applies even when it is cash on collection - you do get extra coverage though as you can use the QR code scanning to prove collection- which you could never do with paypal.

However, quite a few mentions on various forums that the system at the moment seems to glitch with cash on collection and doesn't always take the FVFs due, apparently ebay are aware so it may well be fixed soon.

As for offers there have been a few , but different ones for different people, you might like this thread.

  • Thanks Soolin, yes i would get that the 12.8% plus 30p would apply but just checking there aren't any other fees that i'm not aware of? Or when the person that commented about the fees for collection...i assume they were they meaning compared to the old system of 10% and not having PP fees to factor in? But now it will be 12.8% plus 30p.
Thanks for tip on that other thread for offers, good find.

There are no additional fees for collection, just the FVFs. The people unhappy are those who saved a bit on paypal fees- which is now built in to the FVFs and are paid regardless.

Welcome to the forum. The fees are well publicised and most people have already been moved across, that’s why I added your post to this longer thread.
You are unlikely to be removed from ebay, all that will happen is that your ability to list anything for sale will be removed until such time as you sign up to MP.

Those fees for private sellers are the same as they used to be.
It was 10% to ebay and 2.9% plus 30p to PayPal.
ebay have charged a fee on the whole order including postage since 2013.
PayPal always charged a fee on the entire transaction.

My last old style invoice covered from Apr 16th to May 15th and payment for that was taken on May 30th.  I was then switched to Managed Payments part way through June.  I've had another eBay invoice payment taken on June 30th but I can't find any invoices that match that figure.  Is there a way to still see the old style invoices?

*edit* Nevermind! It was right in front of me, I was just in the wrong tab!!
