I'm never moving house again

That is such a despicable thing to do! I really hope your buyer's buyer moves into their new home (so you can complete on your sale) and then spends the next xxxx years hating everything about it! And I'm not usually a horrible person
Our buyer's buyer had an issue with the FTB's mortgage valuation on their agreed sale price but they & our buyer both agreed to 'share the pain' so we could all keep the chain complete. That happened a few weeks ago though, not on/after exchange day & they got their mortgage offer through yesterday. As we've also thrown quite a big chunk in to persuade our vendor to sell to us after they pulled out, at least I feel everyone is now committed to it. The stress is awful though. I actually burst into tears this morning when the anticipated letter from our solicitor didn't arrive.1 -
but just think of the countless number of properties you have refurbished and sold at a huge profit to buyers who were too lazy to do the work themselves.
a minor hiccup in your own property is nothing0 -

a minor hiccup in your own property is nothingWe search for and carry out projects for other people. Aside from 1 house, they've all been purchased by and kept by the homeowners. Doozergirl I feel your pain! The entire house selling / moving process is soooo very stressful anyway, but when folks mess you about at the last minute it's just the pits!
We spent more than three years trying to sell our house, required 3 different estate agents and finally the fourth buyer to actually complete, two weeks into lockdown.
It nearly bankrupted us, as we had already bought the dream project....
But - we are still here, the project continues and I look forward to not spending another Christmas in a caravan. At least you are now in your new house. And you know that at least next year all this crapola will be but a memory!
Enjoy a glass of something nice up to your neck in warm bubbles in your lovely spa bathroom. Sending good wishes!1 -

We all say we'll never move again but we do.
Next time for me we will be the last.1 -
This is a thread about never moving again but here I am. Is avoiding a chain the best way? Sell house, rent and then buy final house?1

I am in the opposite situation. I bought a house I knew I didn't like simply because I needed somewhere to live and felt guilty about pulling out of the sale. I thought I would grow into it however three years on I still don't like it but the whole moving process is so difficult I am still here. If I sell mine I have to find somewhere else but there is so little stock that I like. In 3 years of looking I have seen maybe 5 houses I like. Plus the SDLT makes moving so expensive.
The English system sucks, I have lived overseas and there are much less stressful systems .2 -
