Doozer you seem one of the most unflappable people on this forum, to see you flapped is a representation of how truly hideous moving house is!I'm so sorry it's not going smoothly for you (people are just unspeakable sometimes) and hope it picks up soon!(P.S. Am an insta follower and have severe envy of your gorgeous house style!)3

This still isn't resolved. Now my friends are saying they're never going to move either! Our buyer's mortgage offer was sorted in just over a week. Of course, we were still waiting and waiting for their buyer's revised offer...After getting a phone call from our EA this morning, finally, to say that the offer was in hand and that solicitors would be looking to exchange, we got another phone call this afternoon to say that the buyer's buyer has pulled out!!You can't make this stuff up.We have the buyer's number so H has spoken to them and it transpires that their parents have now offered to loan/gift them the deposit to buy our house without a chain as they actually have no mortgage on their house...
Let's see what happens. I have zero energy for this so I choose to remain hopeful...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

eidand said:yeah, I know how you feel, we had several accepted offers who changed their mind. Our first buyer waited until exchange time to tell us she can't get the funds ( which I really blame my EAs for ! ). We're now on our second buyer. All this while we have moved to our new house so we're paying two lots of mortgages and other expenses. It will happen eventually ...0

IMO less chains would collapse if buyers were happy with the price they are paying (or paying interest on) and if banks were happy to lend the asking prices, that would surely lead to less stress, but first prices have to drop.0

Last I heard, they had 12 viewings booked for this weekend.Keeping our fingers crossed that the mortgage company approves (again) shortly we can get our sale over the line in the next week or so, so that we can actually have a Christmas. There's nothing under the tree and it's nothing to be flippant about .Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
