Deal with one stage at a time, in chronological order

Mediation comes next,  not the minutia

Well they offered £300, then £270.

I had 2 calls which probably lasted a total of 20 minutes.  They did want to know my position and the basis on which I believe the claim should be rejected.

Not that you had to say! The Mediator is clueless really, just an in between person, not a Judge and is easily led by the Claimant. Anyway no worries.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Indeed.  Nice chatty lady but she did seem to making little signs of agreement.

Apparently they are now saying that if the machine was out of service there was a phone payment option and instructions were near the machine.  That is new information.  Strange that the case has got this far before they made that claim.

I'm guessing I'll be asked for witness statements next....

No need for any guessing,  just follow the 12 steps and study the court order carefully when the local to you civil court that you nominated sends it to you  ( procedures and research, careful study of paperwork when its received,  eliminates all the guessing   )

I returned to the car park today and took photos of the signage etc.  I do have some observations when the time is right.
