Take it easy Badcat, hope the physio is helpful.
Pigpen good luck, I have no doubt that by the time the carpet fitter comes you will have it sorted!
I have done a couple of extra hours paid stuff, I like to have a few hours banked just in case and I had things I needed to finish. House isnt too bad but will catch up on a bit of flying tomorrow, I want to make my Christmas cake this weekend too. We have had fish out of the freezer and chips for tea, feel like I havent eaten very healthily this week, need to plan better for next week, I have done lots of exercise but its no good if I am eating rubbish.
I also want to check my finances and finalise my Christmas budget this weekend.9 -
Morning all.
It was a lovely sunny morning yesterday and I spent nearly 4 hours in the garden, potting up geraniums, decluttering two large trugs full of weeds and leaves, and planting out all last year's bulbs from the patio pots (apart from a few that are destined for the front garden). I also tidied up the hosta pots and swept the back yard. It has all made an enormous difference to the view from the LR window and to the general tidiness of the utility and back porchNo wonder I was tired last night! I soothed my aches and pains with hot chocolate, went to bed early (early for me) and fell asleep almost as soon as my head touched the pillow, then slept soundly until 6.00 this morning.
Today promises to be wet wet wet, so - apart from food shopping and Rosie's walk - I shall be staying indoors, I have some videos to catch up on from my Monday evening Z00m meetings and various bits of creative work to do as a result of the phone conversation with my boss on Thursday. I shall have to hoover through downstairs and mop the vinyl floors as Rosie has left muddy footprints everywhere. And I want DH to cut my hair, and will do his in revenge return.
Hope everyone will be staying warm and dry and safe xx6 -
Good morning all
Yesterday seemed to disappear with very little to show for itself. I did manage to unearth the worksurface (grand name for the freezer and wm top) in the utility room, even if that was a temporary success.
Today, I have to get DD to work, then pick her up early from work as she has a scan at the big city hospital. Yes, we have checked, and yes, Saturday is correct! As ever, we are all on edge.
Apart from that, it is wet weather plan B. Not quite sure what that entails right now, all inspiration gladly received.
Piggers, I have no doubt that you will have everything ready for the carpet fitters!
Badcat - take care, it sounds painful. I’m quite happy to join you for a day on the sofa if that helps 😉
Have a lovely day all, and keep dry x7 -
Morning xx
Waving frantically to let you know that I'm still alive and as on the wagon as I ever am
No idea where this week went, but today I am up, not dressed, first brew has been supped and WM is swishing one of the two loads that didn't get done last weekend. I have also tidied up the detritus from yesterday's pizza delivery for tea. Not mse but Mr M wasn't due to deliver until between 8 and 9 pm. This is the delivery that should have arrived on Thursday evening - when it didn't arrive I checked my emails then phoned and was told 7 or 8 delivery drivers had had to isolate so my delivery was delayed for 24 hours. So I sat waiting last night and when it still hadn't arrived at 9.30 pm I checked my emails: Mr M are unable to deliver and have cancelled your order!!!
This was on top of the nursery where GF started work on Monday being closed as a colleague has tested +ve, and GF now has to isolate for however many days it is. Luckily she will still get paid and is going to spend the time at home doing all the online training that they had lined up for her.
That was on top of DS and GF announcing that they have been successful in applying to rent a house - DS will sign up for it next Saturday; and it sound's like they'll be moving out the following week - when GF has finished isolating: so probably two weeks today.
This was on top of a day covering all three Networks (the whole county) for the Service (which was busy busy but not manic busy) and then moving offices at 4pm. Again. At my request this time - I'm down to 20 minutes from first unplug to sat working at my new desk lol. Oh, and I've got three envelopes in my drawer for collections for people leaving before the end of the year.
I'd quite like to go back to bed and emerge next year - maybe I'm a hedgehog!
But I'll have another brew and some breakfast, get dressed, than be back with a Round or a HHC depending which way on my head is.

I've opened LR and BR curtains and changed the towels in the bathroom. 2nd load left over from last weekend is now swishing. Now I can start on this week's washing...

Morning all
Thanks for the good wishes xx feeling slightly better so have done a few gentle bits.. en suite swished, dusted bedroom and living room, DH is hoovering, bedding stripped and in to wash, new bedding put on with help from DH.2 phone calls made, money shuffled to savings, taking a break now for a cuppa.
Not going to be a complete sofa day, we don’t have one! New furniture delivery expected this afternoon.. finally !! 16 weeks since we ordered it!Back later with next progress report x hugs, sticks, posivibes for those in need, no spare spoons here either sorry x7 -
Round 1 completed + both WM loads draped on airer / radiators, heating turned on, and recycling put out (not too onerous as I more or less recycled as I went through the week: 1 cardboard, 2 plastic and 8 cans was all that was left for this morning.) Coffee now.
I've told DS that he can take all his bedroom furniture - so what I'm thinking is: decorate his room while it's empty, then move everything except my bed, decluttering as I go, into that room; decorate my BR, , then move what I'm keeping back into my BR. Third bedroom is currently RoD - but with DS's BR empty I will have room to pull out one bag / box at a time and sort it into keep / give to DS / donate / fling...which will eventually make RoD usable. Deep clean the bathroom and that will be upstairs done.
I'm not sure how I'll feel when DS moves out - apart from when GF moved in (in September) it's just been me and DS for 27 years.
Right, Round 2 =
pay rent
WUDUPA a bowl of pots
Rxx

Round pleased for DS and GF. There are so many mixed emotions, you feel pleased that your offspring are making their way in their world and are happy, but deep down a little bit of you doesnt want to let them go. You will not be alone though as you always have us with you
Kaz DS and I had a stupid argument about bacon last Sunday, he was grumbling that there wasnt enough and I ended up screeching something along the lines of "you want to try damned well working full time and having to do all the cleaning and cooking and make sure there is enough food in the house without any help".
So, have done some admin and sorted some bits of paper, DH cooked a full English for us. Have put a load of washing over the airer in my office with the dehumidifier going, dark and rainy out. DS has just come in from work and is cooking something, will put DW on when he is finished. Need to do DHs month end bills then make a budget for the next month and work out how much we are going to spend on Christmas.
Feeling quite calm and chilled at the moment.9 -
Oh dear, ladies, shall we have one big FL hibernation session and emerge in the spring? Lots of hugs and FL vibes all round. Sorry, but I am keeping hold of my spoons for today, but will release them into the ether later if possible.
YL - made me smile - I had a very similar (not as polite) altercation with DH last week when he used the downstairs cloakroom after I had cleaned it....
Round - just for the record - no idea why I typed tea cup, must have had delusions of grandeur that day - most definitely a mug, a humungous mug if I get the choice 🤣
So I have s&s the bathroom and ensuite, and applied a similar approach to cleaning the DR and LR. DH had a fit of turning out some boxes from the so-called box room, and has now left them in the middle of the LR. Yep, the one that I have just cleaned and tidied. I can’t be bothered to argue about it anymore.
The rain and wind hasn’t given up for a minute so far. Our drive cross country this afternoon is going to be more than unpleasant.8
