Maybe it’s the miserable weather and the constantly dismal news, Valli? Hope you are ok x
I am curled up on the settee doing sweet fa - not something I usually do. I have managed to sort out my seeds (ferrrling to the old and empty packets), swept and mopped the kitchen floor whilst DH and DD were out for an hour, but that is it. Now I am just staring out at the rain....10 -
It is very miserable weather, and it feels dark already! Having said that, I would happily go for a walk in the rain at the moment!
The good news is, I don't have Covid! (yay!) We WILL be going out for a loooong walk on Sunday!!
In addition to Round 1 earlier, I have put on a 2nd wash load - the first is dry & folded. I have shredded some paper, and topped up Lottie the Hottie from the food bin. I have emailed the boiler insurance people re the lukewarm water. They have already replied to say that the policy has lapsed!! I then get a phone call re the d/d - it would appear that I accidentally deleted the wrong d/d (doh!), but the caller assured me that the policy was still live, and they will take double next month. No payments have been missed, so I will get back to them. Other frogs to be munched include chasing our holiday refund, trying to get a refund for EJ flights (vouchers were previously accepted, but unlikely to be used) and phoning the ISP re TV & broadband to haggle the bill down a bit. Wish me luck!!
I'm getting a bit fed up really of being the only one in this house that bothers to research various money matters in this house, but everyone feels it's ok to moan about it!! The hot water, the internet speed, holidays, etc. I spent a couple of hours yesterday looking for a new car for DH (up to £3k, that I will be paying for!) only for him to reluctantly look at what I had picked out and then pretty much pull a face!!!Funnily enough, I couldn't find a sporty soft top for the money!! I was looking for cheap to run and reasonably comfortable, with a working stereo! His car is a skip on wheels, that will need replacing as he needs it for work. I give up!! He can look for his own flipping car!! Sorry - rant over!!
Valli be kind to yourself - you have worked hard this week, you deserve a break!

I have the worst pain in my neck.. it is wibbling a bit up the back of my head but it is from my neck. I just said to OH I have the worst pain (it is almost making my eyes leak) and he said wherebouts does it hurt as he walked past not even looking, it's all just platitudes.. That was his entire input.. it is most probable it is still the occipital neuralgia I saw the dr about in December when she gave me meds I was allergic to and the meds I already took today but are not touching this.
As a result I have achieved nothing at all. I would quite like my head to fall off right now. IT is looking likely the arthritis I have elsewhere has maybe spread to the vertebrae in my neck.. joy!

I have just hung the curtains in the guest room back up.
I have also sorted the pending/instructions drawer out. There has been flingage (and at least two 'oh that's where it wents'. Now if I could just remember where I put the wodge of cash which was in the blue bowl but which I shifted 'for safekeeping' I will have cracked it. (I once found about £100 in my knicker drawer, having totally forgotten I had hidden it there!)
And tonight I am having a socially distanced gin tasting session.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Holiday refund chased - they are calling back tomorrow.
Engineer booked for Monday am (nearly agreed to tomorrow, but remembered we are isolating!! Doh!!)
That's 2 frogs munched. I am now looking at the EJ refund - that might not be as straightforward, so I am going to search MSE website/forums.
I have also been searching online for some Christmas present inspiration. I am going to empty the TD and take the washing upstairs. DH is up there faffing about with his 'music', so I will ask about dinner. It is unlikely that he is going to have his big record deal soon, so at least I am doing something useful!! (I really need to get out!!!)8 -
Pigpen I know you dont do mushy stuff but I really hope you are OK, I do worry about you with all these different medical things you have going on x
A good day here, paid stuff first thing then took parents to choose new worktops to go with new kitchen. Took them home and had a brew with them then called at Li@l to make sure I went over the £200 monthly spend to get my £10 voucher. Li@l was heaving, I need to get myself organised so I am going in there less often. Cooked curry with DH for tea.
Might work a couple of hours in the morning, I have a report that I really should have finished today.8 -
YL glad you had a good day love x
Nice day then totally spoilt by he-who-shall-not-be-named. I remind myself that my children are my priority but it's so, SO, hard to keep going sometimes. If I could pack the three of us in a trunk and go to Spain I would. Sorry ladies, the doldrums have got me and taken my breath away tonight.
love to all x9 -
YL.. If I am honest I am concerned about all my medical stuff as well.. I just wish someone who shares my house was too.. or would at least listen, or have a conversation.. The thing with ON is it is made worse by tension and stress and I have those in abundance right now and I am dealing with everything alone.

Where have the days gone, again?
Thurs I did my first morning assessment - having done 2 afternoons for the past few years, I decided that I'd like to drive home in daylight for one of my days. It went ok although I got a couple of nasty finger slices when moving my Perspex screen, knew it would happen some time as it is large and rather unwieldy and I'd noticed the edges were sharp. Will take some tape in next week as I don't want it happening again - every one of the numerous hand-sanitising activities has been very OUCH.
Early week house cleaning was not in vain as my brother came up Wed/Thurs instead of his usual Tues/Wed. Did a huge hoover this afternoon after he'd gone.
Went for a swim this morning.
Saw workplace student this afternoon. I just love teaching adult literacy, I really miss it, so I came home on a real high. Have written up her weekly summary, emailed it and scheduled next week's Zoom meeting.
Mr N went to see MIL yesterday, they have re-instigated care home visits to one named relative now after being out of bounds for a month following 2 staff members testing +ve (on which note good news on your -ve GI). She looked well but talked no sense.
Spoke to my mum, sounds as if Bournemouth and area may go up to tier 2, which would mean I can't do the semi-planned visit some time in Nov, although she sounded pretty philosophical.
On the aga saga, we have a provisional (i.e. if the new flue is delivered and it is the right one) installation date for the reconditioned range - Nov 18th. Fingers crossed, don't want to get any nearer winter as it will take 3-4 days with no heating while they are fitting it. Luckily I have a 2-ring electric hob and a microwave.
Need bed now so whatever else I have done will just have to go unmentioned.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all
The week has just disappeared again! I had my meeting with my manager, she was very understanding and has managed to get me some temporary assistance so I can offload some of my more admin type tasks leaving me free to concentrate on the more complex stuff. I’m ok with that and we will review in a couple of weeks. So this week has been hectic again but at least I’ve now trained and handed over so should be better from next week...
On the flying front I actually managed a slightly early finish yesterday so I have scrubbed bathroom and en-suite, hoovered and dusted top floor rooms and our bedroom, also changed the bedding, 3 wm loads done yesterday too so laundry fairly up to date. DH did the food shop so that also frees up some time this weekend. Weather is yucky here but hopefully tomorrow will be better, I would like to do a bit of garden tidying if I can and also get out for a walk.
Im going out this morning to get my hair cut, I think DH is also going to try and get his done. It appears that another national lockdown might be coming so want to get that out of the way while we can! (Although not sure what businesses will be affected this time)
Hoping you are all ok, hugs as always to anyone in need. Back later x8
