D.T has now been closed for four months, a period during which the pandemic has abated then returned, does anyone believe it will ever return or was it really as many suspected an excuse (valid or not) to close it for good?
It also has to be said that many other parts of MSE are dying a slow and painful death.
There was a time I would happily spend 2 hours a day on MSE  now its often less than 15 minutes.
Shame really.

I've just been allowed back after an enforced holiday from here. I must say it was a refreshing break and I can't see me being so active any more.

Not sure how much this site makes from advertisement.
More traffic = more payment from adverts.
Dependant on the answer of the above would effect if it was the correct move to make.
  • Its amazing considering we have been in lockdown, people have been working from home, more people are jobless that many sub forums on MSE have had little or no activity for most of this year, any one offering odds on how long MSE will last in it's current state?

There is no advertising on MSE, it's a fundamental principle of the site.

Must still be a popular forum otherwise the spammers would not bother posting on it.

there is no denying that since the update early this year MSE has lost more and more members
