B&M sell packs of bacon offcuts for (i think) £1.59.     last time I bought some had gammon steaks in it and time before rashers of back bacon, no offcuts at all.    even if there is I cook them up and leave them in the fridge for snacking

My big problem is suppers. I don't eat breakfast, and dinner is fine, but supper is difficult. I hate cheese & salad, and tummy is not good with eggs or LC bread.
  • Started back on plan today. I fasted until lunch time and had roast pork, cabbage and gem squash. I managed not to have any roast potatoes. And had the same for tea, with strawberries and squirty cream for afters.  I find the M and S squirty cream the best of the bunch as regards low carb. I am intending to fast daily 18/6, so basically means skipping breakfast. Lunch will be left over pork, broccoli and cauliflower steam veg. Supper will be chilli with veg if I can stay away from the rice. I will already be using a jar sauce so the sugars in that will be more than enough I think. I have to use the jar sauce as don’t want to waste but won’t buy again.

Sounds lovely! I use the M&S cream too as it isn't sweetened. It keeps for ages too and is great in an emergency if I have no cream for my coffee.
re your chilli I make keto tortilla chips and have it with avocado, sour cream and cheese. One of my favourite meals!
  • Hey everyone! I didnt meal prep last week but I  a back on it with bells on today.
I planned around wanting to start eating specific ingredients from the cupboard that were lingering. I managed to get rid of half bottles of Nandos sauce (which is actually very low carb) and made that for my OH who said it was amazing and wished he could have eaten more.

For me I made Chicken Satay using some tahini I have had lurking in the cupboard and its soooo good! I love how this is forcing me to use things up is helping me find delicious things. Totally making that again. I also bought some keto granola last year that I didnt like and I made it into mini granola bite squares with chocolate. I also made a batch of Chia seed crackers which will be lovely with some cream cheese. Also did some eggs and chopped my celery, I find it helps if its all at hand ready

Next week I am thinking roast beef - I have a lot of half jars of mustard so maybe a peppercorn mustard sauce if I can find a recipe. I have  bottle of teriyaki sauce that I wouldnt mind shifting and also, I have some cinnamon, so maybe some kind of cookies?? I am not an experienced baker so not sure, I have never really used it. Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Going to pop to the supermarket tomorrow as we can't get a slot for delivery now since they announced lockdown - going to focus on things I won't be able to get from the corner shop like cream and put it in the freezer.

Hope everyone is well, eye on the goal - not long until we can put 2020 in the bin!

  • I have survived my first week, without caving. A huge achievement for me. It’s not been perfect but I have stayed away from the sugary stuff, rice, pasta and potatoes.

Ooh, can I ask where you're getting gem squash? Or do you grow them?
We grew a few this summer but didn't manage more than a handful of meals worth.
