Deliveroo Credit Card Cloning Query?

Noticed on my backup account today (so visible as only monthly money in/out transactions) - 2 x Deliveroo transactions totalling just under £80 in the middle of May. New card being sent out and been told that i should get a refund within 24 hours, but still annoying ...1

Another one to add to the list. Just logged in to check Barclaycard today and notice a payment to Deliveroo for just over £40. Now queried transaction online and card blocked. I have never used Deliveroo.0

I stumbled across this thread when a friend suffered a similar experience this week with £86 going from a card that has never even been taken from the envelope. My thanks to those that offered explanations for the various operational matters including VAU. I had never heard of that and now understand how one merchant has managed to take money from me on an expired card. It was an annually recurring payment for a service that I no longer wanted so didn't bother to update the card details and yet the money was still taken. Now I understand how.
As far as the Deliveroo/Barclaycard fraud is concerned, I understand that the fraudsters are generating the card numbers, but how about the 3-digit security code from the back of the card? Is Deliveroo so desperate for orders that it is so lax as to ignore the various security measures and then deliver wherever?0 -
Same exact scenario for me this month:
- Lloyds credit card
- Never used in person or online
- Deliveroo order, £35
Only explanation given about the unusual scenario was that 'some vendors may not request or verify security codes on their payments'.0 -
Registered just to say I'm another one, different bank then listed already.
Wondering if my bank is getting this loads and pocket up on it, because my mobile app asked me to approve and I said no.
I've used this card around, but I know what I'm doing, and also never had a Deliveroo account. This is so bizarre.0 -
Than already listed.0

I had the card replaced, and the same thing just happened again, only this time it is "Deliveroo Plus" and they tried to add a subscription.
Something really weird is going on!0 -
Add me to the list!
Barclaycard...76 pounds taken from deliveroo when I don't even have an account with them.
I did use the card in a pub on one of those apps to order food to the table a week before this happened ...only time I can think it might of be compromised.
Old card has been cancelled and a new one sent out. I don't get how this can happen? Surely they need the name on the card, card number, expiry etc...0 -
Exactly the same for me. £200 in two transactions. I'd not used the card in years though so I clocked it straight away. Barclays seem to be sorting so all good
It sounds daft to think your card is being used fraudulently to order takeaways but I suppose a lot of these go unnoticed due to the nature of it. They then just have to split the bill with their mates and they're quids in0
