Thanks TF and Richard :T Happy New Year to you both.
Must say the letter sent me into a right old panic.
I have already told them we are in contact with CCCS and are trying to arrange a remortgage to pay them off (this bit is true - 6 months ago).
And you are right Richard, they do put pressure on to agree to payments, when I spoke to them they threatened to 'reverse the payment holiday' - putting me into 2 months arrears  and made me agree to phone them in 2 days time - which I never did because I had nothing to say.
Will send them a letter recorded delivery tomorrow and hope no one knocks on the door in the meantime.....
Our BR date is 29th Feb and we are hoping to move into rented accommodation on 1st/2nd Feb, so only 4 more weeks.... Going to view 2 houses tomorrow.
Thanks again

Hi tigerfeet,
It's anybody's guess really. What works in one situation won't in another, and by the sound of it Mama hasn't got too long to wait before it doesn't matter anyway. It's just a case of staying sane before the big day really.
They seldom tend to believe what you say to them, and it probably depends on the person who's handling the case.
Regards

Dear all
Just a quick update....
We have today secured a rental property and are moving on 1st Feb (BR is 29th Feb). The rent is less than half what we are paying (or should be paying) in secured loan and mortgage on our house. The house is also in a nicer area so will make the bitter sting of 'losing' our house a bit sweeter.
I have also contacted the Co-op to open a Cashminder account as we need a new account before BR to pay in proceeds of the sale of H's van (which is paying 6 months rent in advance).
Plan to tackle the dreaded BR forms 1 week after moving, that should give us 3 weeks to complete them.
That's it for now....off to sort out RoyalMail post redirection....for all the nasty letters

Hi MammaCas,
That's a big step in the right direction; perhaps a little celebration tonight? :beer:0 -
:T Yay! that's a good step MC. I know it's a shame losing your house but give it a couple of years and you never know what will happen.

Hello all
Another quick update.
Less than 2 weeks to moving  House is full of boxes (daughter keeps hiding behind them and climbing all over them), phone ringing about 10 times a day (thank God for caller ID).
All nasty letters are now filed in my version of Scarlett's 'folder of doom'. Hoping this will make the dreaded forms easier......
I have arranged new home phone number for new house :T and spoken to Mortgage Company (who phoned me at work) and told them we are 'considering voluntary repossession'. Their 'representatives' have yet to knock on my door (as 'threatened' in one of their letters) so that's good.
Me and H have decided that when we win the lottery tomorrow night, we are going to pay them all back, but 10p too much. Then ring them 20 times per day until they pay it back :rotfl:
However, main purpose for the update is - anyone new reading this in a similar position (negative equity, huge mortgage/secured loan repayments) - once I'd made the decision to move and put everything in place (so WE are in control - not the mortgage company), it really isn't so bad. In fact - I can't wait..
