And if the 'point' of the ID was so you can get more - now you've got two beautiful plants you can keep an eye out for and pick up when you see themFarway said:Builder, no, it means sometime after Easter.
And a late update from me! Just had a knock at the door (6pm ish)- builder apologising for being late and asking if he could mark up around back for the lads to start digging out 8:30 in the morning...Heading out to get some 'before' pictures now while there's light as I'm not going to be awake enough at that time of day to remember

Wow that's great news! What a good guy. Hopefully you are on to a winner Abs. One that keeps you informedHappily it was one of those plants that happened to fall into my basket pre pandemic when I went to buy the lavender for the front empty garden. Along with some tiny pansies that managed to stick it out for a while. But I don't think we'll see the like again. It's all stuff thats 'the usual' in garden centres now.So that's me safe.A bit of pink cloud tonight. Forecast is drizzle all day but some sunshine.Farway, fuschia is tough stuff (unless it's a tender darling) and will come on fine whenever you prune. Fingers crossed.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It was ages ago now, but rather mysteriously, some plants in our Viburnum tinus hedge suddenly died. We put it down to an unseasonal cold snap that killed some other trees and shrubs near the stream. Anyway, I took cuttings and made about 15 more viburnums, 8 of which we used today to fill in the gaps. It was one of those jobs we'd put off for a while....probably a year!As it stayed dry, I was able to mow most of the tidier garden too.
By the time that was finished, the sunshine had turned watery, and it felt much colder. Having found them, I took a quick snap of one Fritillary in the dying rays and headed indoors. Rain again tonight!

Beautiful pictures
It's all starting now eh. You're welcome re the quiet word I had about your weather 2p, I might need you to do the same for me for tomorrow, it's an atrocious forecast.
I've snakes head here too, but it's only wee, and 2 even diddier ones coming up next to it. I don't remember buying them never mind planting them, or the similar looking things next to them. Stoopid brain. Nice to see the slugs left me something though. I'll keep my eye out for Tristagma Uniflorum cos I really like the look of those, and slug-proof is definitely required here. Where did you get them..? Swish gc or morries?
I bought tulip bulbs last year, the blurb said they'd be a very rich dark maroon sort of colour. Well they're starting to come up now and the slugs are loving them because they're a delicate creamy yellow  so don't be paying extra for 'black' tulips from B+Q folks. Also the 'cherry' is going great guns, I'm still not sure whether it's a hawthorn or elderflower or what. I asked if anyone wanted it but no takers, so I'll have to find a spot where I can share it with the worldBut not Shopping Basket park ha haa!
Hurray for your builder being a decent person Arb, that was good of him eh. I'd go back and buy that magnolia if it was me before they're gone
Well it was a lovely mild bright day yesterday. It's rained overnight so the air is damp still but it's got about 45 mins to dry itself out cos I've a wash on. Windy this aft, they say. The breeze is taking the heat out of it too, 6' but feels like 2' which seems right to me.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

I did like the description says 'honey scented' when everywhere else emphasises the onion
No builder as yet this morning... but I've put the kettle on as I understand that's how you attract them to the garden.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.7 -
Lovely snakes head, Dusty. My two pots that I bought a while back are... still in their pots. I'm not sure where I want them to go yet. I think the white one has gone over, but the purple one still had a flower the last time I looked.
I'm really wishing I'd bought the magnolia nowI'll look to see if they still have them tomorrow.
We ended up with a beautiful day yesterday, with a spectacular orangey red sunset as the finale. I took a couple of pics but they're not worthy haha. I saw someone else's pic on the Scotland BBC weather on TV - he must have snapped it and sent it straight to weather watchersand quite right too, it was stunning
Light rain forecast for today and just a bit meh.
Hope the builders have turned up, AR (fingers crossed).'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -

He used to be very reasonable, so it's a shame we must now take a harder line than we'd prefer with him.Bright skies this morning, but I'm not fooled. There's likely to be heavy showers and the temperature is much lower than yesterday, despite a southerly wind. I shall shop early for Easter and check up on my walking friend's garden, which needed a good weeding when last seen.We had War Games in the afternoon yesterday. A couple of Eurofighters spent an hour, chasing each other through the sinister-looking clouds. Here's a photo (unedited) showing the latter!

Did Decent Builder turn up Arb? They've an uncanny knack of smelling a boiled kettle I think. Also (if your builders are the same breed as my roofers) you'll need sugar by the bucketful, lots of good biscuits, and big bottles of coke if they're working in the sunshine. Quantities should be enough to satisfy 10 men, and if you've more than 2 builders you might have to double them
And I've made a note of your link, thank you kindly
Fingers crossed there's a magnolia left for you pp. Lovely to see a good sunrise/sunset, I'm a bit lacking in those of late. I like weather photos they put on the local news, mine last night was a mamma duck and about a dozen wee ducklingsI'm lacking in those here too.
Talk about an atmospheric photo Dusty, I can all but hear those jets roaring. What will you do about your track now? Will the builder play nicely or do you have to start looking for his replacement?
Sun's out here, washing is too. Here's my contribution to the snakes head party -The things next to them -Lastly, ‘cherry’ -I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.9 -
Getting darker by the minute, I think I'm in for another deluge today.Hope builder has arrived by now Arbs, my Asda delivery was early, but that is no guide.Come rain or shine I'm going to nip out and prune the fuchsia, it's near the front steps, while there I can fume at the squirrel excavations in my Lily tubsThe climbing beans I started to chit between damps tissues have all germinated nw, loo roll potting up time later today. I'll leave them in the unheated conservatory after that, sheltered but not forced.Likewise, my tomato forest, needs potting on soon, but I think I'll move them to a bit tougher regime than the bathroom window sillDusty, nice Snake's head, and 'plane, sometimes I'd like to live in Norfolk just because the Red Arrows practice there.Blue, seems like the B & Q tulip packer is from same family that labels my fruit trees. I do sometimes think that they are probably on minium wages & hours, so hardly surprising they just bung anything in the packets, especially if paid piece work, X number per hour etc.My solitary tulip is not yet open, I think it's waiting until the slugs have completely finished with my viola stumpsToday's pic. Some may recall me notching my figs
earlier this year?
It worked folks, proof if needed. Will I get extra fruit? Who knows, but at least I tried.

For a start, we'll abandon works to the old track and DIY those instead. There are cheaper locals who do work on the side, but the quality of their efforts might not be as good. With inflation, if everyone accepts it and rolls over, that just makes the situation worse. Push back!
The jets didn't go overhead, fortunately. When they used their afterburners, it scared the horses and the cats as it was!Tuesday is military plane day here; might get a couple of helicopters or a couple of planes, but rarely more. I've a theory we're working on the Noah Principle with British defences; i.e. two of everything!
Aren't your two 'things' just more Fritillaries pushing upwards?
